I love the ski lodge feel - dark woods and stone, the fireplace is pretty nice although the seating is a bad design IMO. Really only one lucky person/group can sit right in front of it. They should put sofas and loveseats in there instead. This hotel is so conveniently located to the base camp for Big Sky, it's a quick walk to the exit downstairs and you're steps from the exchange and plenty of places to eat and shop, as well as buy lift tickets. Ample parking is available too. There were tons of people with dogs the first few days of Thanksgiving so if you don't like dogs, this might not be the place for you. I love dogs, but our neighbors had a small yappy dog that would wake us up each morning. Not ideal but it was only for 2 days. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and would come back.

It was nice to step away from phone screens for a bit. This is also where they serve their complimentary, well balanced breakfast from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. They even have a pancake maker where you can watch the pancakes being made through a viewing window. The fitness center was well equipped and had everything needed to work all muscle groups. I liked that the treadmill is next to the window, allowing you to look out at the mountains while exercising from time to time. They also offer guest laundry for $5 each for the washer and dryer, with detergent available for $2. My clothes came out clean and dry. I did not get a chance to use the pool during my stay, but it looked like guests were enjoying it. There is also an outdoor hot tub, which creates a nice contrast between the cold air and the warm water with steam rising above it. The staff were friendly and patient. They answered our questions thoroughly and helped us feel confident navigating the area. At first, I didn't like that The Lodge was farther from the main village, but it ended up being only a five minute walk to where we needed to go. I would definitely book my stay here again if I have the chance to return to Big Sky.

Our room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was average, although they did have a pancake making machine which you don't see very often. I wanted to get a glass of milk and nothing came out of the machine. I had to get the waitstaff to refill the machine, and then when I went back after they had filled it, the milk was sour. Except for the breakfast experience, our stay was fine. Not sure what it would've been like during the height of the season.

Every tithe neighbors close the door it makes a slamming noise that goes straight to your bones. Small television inside a wooden cabinet. The shower has some kind of cheese cloth curtain that absorbs then drops all the water on the ground, leaving puddles behind. The bathroom even has a sign telling you to put a towel on the ground. Long story short, updates are needed. I won't go through all the shortcomings of this place, I'll just say it seems a bit expensive for what you get. On the bright side the reception people are very nice and the morning continental breakfast us good enough. It's within walking distance of local restaurants. Last thing I need to say...don't even look at the hot spa on the side of the building.

They have ski valet on the 2nd floor, where they store your skis. Every morning, we took the elevator down to the 2nd floor and we were ready to ski down to Swift Current or Ramcharger chairs. We loved our room - we stayed on the 4th floor, mountain side. The room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. I loved the fireplace! (hubs thought it made the room too hot, lol). The staff was super nice and friendly. Check in process was a little bit confusing until the nice bellman at the Huntley Hotel explained to me how it worked. Basically, you cannot drive your own car to Village Center because it's located on a restricted access road. Here is how it works: drive up to the Huntley entrance and tell the bellman you are checking into Village Center. They will transfer all of your luggage into one of their resort vehicles and you will follow the resort vehicle to the parking lot where you will park your car. Then the resort vehicle will drive you to Village Center. You check in at Village Center. We loved skiing in Big Sky! We will definitely come back and stay at Village Center.

The only thing I would suggest is that you request a graphic map with visual markers, mileage, etc., as we felt a little lost the entire time we were trying to get to the site. Also as first-time visitors to Big Sky, MT, the staff was extremely helpful in getting us to the best restaurants and nature activities. Everyone working there was extremely nice. However, they seemed understaffed, which obviously isn't the workers fault - they were trying very hard to keep up with interacting with us and the other guests. For such a high-end place otherwise, with a high-end price, I think Collective Retreats should hire more workers.

I'd like to note that the chef was very accomodating, letting us try smaller portions of the entire menu, and making adjustments to one of us who was pregnant. The staff was kind and did all they could to make us feel welcome and special. They assisted in organizing daytime activities, and continued to spoil us by surprising us with carmels, and fresh baked cookies and milk, smores at the ready for the firepit, and a thoughtful thank you note to send us on our way. It also has a huge jacuzzi out front over-looking the runs/mountain, which is great for an apres ski soak. The bar is pretty cool, and the restaurant is decent. It seems most the complaints are based on what you get for the price - and it definitely is pricey. I think their advertising of the Summit as "elegant" is a bit of a stretch. Maybe do some major overhaul updates and market it as "upscale mountain." They have some activities daily, depending on the season. The three of us played Bingo with Valerie one night (she was great; super friendly, and we all won! (Helped that we were the only 3 there to play). We took our prize money (a $5 Big Sky gift card), and splurged on lattes and mochas at the Mountain Mall. Good times!

Our spacious room came with feather pillows and down comforters for each of the two queen beds; and a table and two chairs with a coffee station. The bathroom and vanity area came equiped with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion; and a microwave, and fridge. Breakfast was included.. Additionally we were given two pods of Tide detergent and a small box of Bounce dryer sheets and were informed that the on-site laundry facilities were also free for us to use. The 55-inch+ TV worked great! What else could a guest want? An elevatir is all this place is missing. Since there's essentially only two stories, walking the stairs might be problematic if you have a lot of luggage. PS our first night was very quiet; however our second night was quite noisy because another guest(s) stayed in the room nextdoor and whenever they flushed the commode or showered, running water noise came through and permeated our now not-so-quiet room.
