Pleasantly surprised by this hotel! It was only $156/night for Thanksgiving. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful- really everyone we encountered was. I love the ski lodge feel - dark woods and stone, the fireplace is pretty nice although the seating is a bad design IMO. Really only one lucky person/group can sit right in front of it. They should put sofas and loveseats in there instead. This hotel is so conveniently located to the base camp for Big Sky, it's a quick walk to the exit downstairs and you're steps from the exchange and plenty of places to eat and shop, as well as buy lift tickets. Ample parking is available too. There were tons of people with dogs the first few days of Thanksgiving so if you don't like dogs, this might not be the place for you. I love dogs, but our neighbors had a small yappy dog that would wake us up each morning. Not ideal but it was only for 2 days. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and would come back. read more

I stayed at the Huntley for a conference I attended and loved the views! It was my first time at Big Sky so it was nice that my hotel was centrally located to all the activities offered. The ski lift was steps away, restaurants and bars literally a short walk across the court yard. The front desk staff were helpful in providing maps and recommendations for outdoor activities. My room was great although it took some time for the front desk to get my room ready after I checked in. However, the room itself was amazing, again, nice views. I used the hot tub only once throughout my 5 day stay because it always seemed to be dirty. Granted I would always go at the end of the day which could be why it wasn't the cleanest at that time. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, and will definitely be back to try some of the other activities. read more

Front desk, check-in, and valet were a little disorganized. No jets in the hot tubs for the entire time we were there. Cleaning staff didn't make our beds daily. Way overpriced considering the bad service. Convenient location.... that's about it. Feels like they were doing everything they could to be short staffed and limit the services you're paying for. Thin walls... so you'll hear the neighbors and folks above you if you're on floor 1 or 2. Try floor 3 if you'd like it a little quieter. read more

Things that you need to be aware of if you go during ski season: 1. reserve a humidifier ahead of time or you won't get one and 2 the plan the time your are going to the included breakfast to beat the crowd (the line to get a table was the worst and sometimes the food was low). The breakfast was all delicious though. One of my favorite parts of the Huntley was the sunken lobby area. The staff made sure the fire was always gorgeous. It's OK. Yes, you can hear every word being said in the next room, and you can guess what that means about TV, etc. This is true with every hotel, but it is somewhat worse here. I can't imagine how awful it was before the renovations... I would rather sleep in the street than stay here during that time. The breakfast is OK. It's not bad, but not especially good either. Everything looks good, but the taste is often odd. I wouldn't stay here if I were making reservations for myself, especially now that I know how it is. I am here with a group. It's definitely not worth the money, but nothing is worth the money at a ski resort. So, it's actually fairly average accommodation for a ski resort. Hence the 3 stars. read more

We stayed there for a conference this summer. We had a loft room which was super cool especially when traveling with kids. The kids had their own space. The hotel gives you daily passes for the lifts during the summer. You are close to a lot of hiking trails and the town center. Everyone that works there is super nice and attentive. read more

Give this resort 5 stars for location. Ski in ski out! Fun Starbucks coffee bar in the lobby with a beautiful fireplace. The hotel itself is fine -- nothing special. Rooms are comfortable. The resort allows dogs and I happened to have a room near a guest whose dog barked non-stop. Even after alerting staff, the barking continued. Spa is good but so expensive. $325 for a 60 minute massage. Yikes. Staff is welcoming but at times it feels as though we are an inconvenience. Someone needs to tell them that guests fund their paychecks! read more

What happens when you stay here: Book a room with 2 queens, get a "free upgrade" to one king, then told there's no way to get the room you paid for even though you have 3 people that need to sleep. Receive horrible customer service. Get no help. Even though it's your birthday. Spend one hour begging until they finally magically a room for you. This is a great summer getaway place. The rooms are very nice. Beware that housekeeping cleans the room ever other day. You will notice some of my photos are a messy room... oops forgot to take a photo when I first arrived, but you will get the idea. Several pools and hot tubs available. A number of activities are available at the Basecamp. Bring your wallet!!! We did the excursion to the top of the mountain. Nothing short of awesome. Highly recommend! Check in and out was a breeze. Plenty of places inside and out to relax in easy chairs. Fireplace available. Free shuttle to most places in Big Sky. Tips encouraged. read more

We were given a check in time of 4 on our paperwork. We show up at 330 are told that's wrong check in is at 5. So we come back at 430 only to sit in the lobby until 630. Told Our room either wasn't cleaned, wasn't checked, wasn't ready etc. They did give us a $100 voucher to the nearby restaurant the food was subpar and expensive ($20 for a burger on a sesame seed bun) We brought food with us but the fridge in the room wasn't cold and ruined it all. The decor and rooms are outdated and feel dirty. Beds are uncomfortable. Walls are thin. Perhaps the most underwhelming and disappointing stay we've had at any hotel read more

Kinda looks like it could be due for a major makeover. Many of the same features from 1974 still remain. They had however remodeled the bathroom in our room. Location is excellent which is the main reason we stayed there. Included breakfast buffet was fair but waitstaff seemed overwhelmed and long lines formed to get a table even though tables were open. We didn't use the spa or eat at the restaurant. You can get to the super slow Explore chairlift by exiting the hotel next to the pool. read more

We really enjoyed our recent stay at Big Sky Resort. The scenery is spectacular. One highlight of the trip was spotting so much wildlife on our daily hikes. We stayed at the Huntley Lodge and chose this place for its central location. It's easy to just step out and find yourself in the center of everything. Since it was our first time at the Huntley and our first time in Big Sky, we wanted to check out everything they had to offer. The staff at the lodge were so friendly and helpful. Eric at the front desk was a wealth of information. Shortly after checking in, he called to ask how our room was. He was a wealth of fun suggestions of things to do at the lodge and beyond. The level of guest service Eric and the all the staff was outstanding and truly exceeded our expectations. The trip seemed to fly by way too quickly. We took a ride to the top of Lone Peak. I highly recommend this place for getting photos that showcase Montana's beauty. We spent two days exploring Yellowstone and the last day we were so exhausted from exploring that we just stuck around the lodge, went swimming and relaxed before it was time to go home. We can't wait to return to Big Sky and can't wait to see what it's like during the winter season. read more

We had a wonderful long weekend at Huntley Lodge. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly. There are plenty of dining options on the resort just a short walk away. Highlight: Kelly at the concierge desk went above and beyond make sure we had an amazing trip. We were given great recommendations and accurate detailed instructions. She even followed up when we returned from a day off the resort to be sure we had a great hike. If I had to give a low it would be the temperature of the food on the breakfast buffet.....cold each morning. We certainly didn't let it dampen our spirits and the rest of the food was wonderful. read more

I recently had a very bad experience here. Upon my arrival on Jan.6, 2024 my Boot Bag which had a luggage tag with my name and address , was improperly tagged by Huntley staff to the wrong room. I immediately notified the front desk that my boot bag was not delivered. They told me that it , "would be right up". it wasn't. The next day, I approached the front desk, explained the type of boot bag , and that i had not received it. Since i was a member of a ski club, they told me that they would search the rooms of the members of the ski club for my bag. However, they did not search the room where the bag was erroneously delivered because there was a , "Do not Disturb " sign on that room. The next day i spoke to the manager (Mason) , he was very nice . i told him that the bag contained most of my gear , and that i could not ski without it. He told me that he would "Comp me" , and that the resort would pay me to replace lost items, but that he needed to first get the General Manager to sign off on. After waiting several minutes, Mason gave me the bad news that Huntley would give me a gift card for $50. i said .., " are you kidding me? i had hundreds of dollars of ski gear in the bag. Also there were accusations that the bag was not even there, that it was in the airport , or on a bus. My stay at the Huntley Lodge was an entire week. i left a day early because of airline warnings of airport shutdowns . The day after my departure, my bag was found . it was delivered to the wrong room , the two guys who were in that room each thought it was the other one's bag. i contacted Huntley Lodge by email and asked them that since it was their error , would they compensate me for the two days i couldn't ski because of my lost bag . Eventually, i borrowed clothing , etc. from friends so i could ski, but i lost out on 2 days going back and forth with Huntley staff trying to locate my bag. The email reply by Patrick Tyvand(general manager) was a doozy. He essentially blamed the missing bag on the guys who were in the room. Suggested that they thought it was a funny joke by not telling me. read more

Unbeatable location! We literally had the Explorer 2 lift right outside our door, we didn't even use the ski valet, it would have been more of a hassle, we just kept our stuff in the room. The hotel itself is quite outdated, but you know it before you go, so it's not a surprise, a major renovation is quite needed. All amenities are at walking distance, Vista Hall, Basecamp, ticketing, etc. Access to the Ramcharger 8 and Swift Current 4 lifts is also very convenient, but we never walked to them, we always hopped on Explorer and then skied to get them. As an additional perk, this place is pet friendly, so we could bring our furry family member with us. Due to covid, there was no room service, but obviously you could ask anything you needed from the front desk at any time. If you're not bothered by the fact that it is really outdated, this is highly recommended! read more

Bell Staff was outstanding and never stopped working! These kids went over and beyond the norm and made sure you were taken care of. Cole was amazing from the start and very informative and caring. He really does a great job. I also want to give Kudos to the concierge desk as well mostly Zachary. All of them came into the registration area to find out what we were about so they could speak intellegently abot the event which happpened to be the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame inductions on the 24th and 25th of March 2023. Stayed here for a conference, First the good news: the staff are terrific! It is in a beautiful location and there is a lot to do in the immediate vicinity. The chair lifts to the mountaintop trails are first rate,lots of kid friendly activities and pretty good shopping. The food at Chet's is very good. The bad: The rooms. They apparently haven't been upgraded in decades..The WiFi is essentially useless. Our room had mismatched chairs and no comfortable seating. There are other options including the Summit Hotel which are likely more up to date. read more

First class ski lodge when you walk in bellman dressed like cowboys greet you-and open the door. The lobby by Che kin is comfortable place to hangout and a spa is a few feet away. The conferences center is also located here it's in a great location with the ski village right outside. Parking is a little tough to find when it's busy. read more

We have been coming to the Huntley in February for about 12 years and it hasn't changed. It is in terrible need of a makeover. The rooms are terribly dated - think of motels in the 70's. I get that you pay to be slope side but that is not an excuse. Holiday inn express is like a 5 star hotel beside this one. They have tried to redo the lobby a bit here and there but nothing has been done in the rooms. Walls and floors are thin too so it is a noisy place. If you are first time visitors and are paying 300$ a night...get ready to really lower your expectations of what you should receive for that price. Yes we like to ski here or we would not keep coming back however our visits do coincide with ce credit. We would have checked out other places to ski for sure if was not for a work related trip. This year I just couldn't stand it anymore and have to leave a review. read more

so disappointed by this hotel... the walls and floor are so paper thin you can hear everything next to and above you. Getting here we instantly realized we had made a mistake when we found the earplugs on the bed with a note apologizing for the noise. I felt like my dog might fall thru the floor if he jumped off the bed too hard! Front desk tells us the top floor is full and the help doesnt extend past there. The shower head is installed at 52" so be prepared to crouch down to wash your hair. I feel completely scammed to be paying this much to stay here with that level of discomfort! read more

We canceled our trip for June as we know that this situation is going to last longer than a few weeks or months and we don't want to go to put ourselves or others at risk. Ask for a room on the third floor during ski season or you will hear the ski boots tromping over your head from early morn. Walls are thin, so be aware and bring earplugs. Location is very good, a few minutes walk to the Explorer lift gets you up and on the hill right away. Or, you can walk to Swift Current or Ram charger lifts in about 3 minutes after picking up your skis from the hotel storage. Good pricing, breakfasts are FABULOUS! Other option is to use any breakfast tickets that come with your lodging at the Peaks restaurant in the Summit Hotel. Good fresh fruit choices and slightly smaller options, but nice quality. absolute dump. $700 a night garbage pit. we check in and there are drugs on the floor, no soap in the shower, dirty ice bucket, and rude staff. complained and asked for a comp night. they gave us the night and said they would be in to clean.... they vacumed but did not refill soap or clean ice bucket. ordered room service the next night, from Chet's. get a call "your food is ready come and get it" not exactly room service. When I stay at a hotel I look forward to rest and sleeping in. We are a family of 5 and are only choice was staying in their Loft room that sleeps 6. Unfortunately it comes with 2 large windows with no curtains. The sun starts rising at 5am and our whole room was filled with sunlight. My teenage boys who also love to sleep in were up by 6am. This is a hidden secret for snow chasers. You know you'll get great snow, and less crowds. I really love the laid back feel, traditional cowboy country style, and affordable ski in ski out option for a beautiful bucket list vacation mid-Yellowstone. It's very unique to this place. The complimentary breakfast is very delicious. My only let down was not having robes to take down to the 1F temps by the jacuzzi :/ but still. Definitely recommend it! read more

I didn't rent a car for the five days I was at the Huntley for a conference and the bell hops/cowboys drove me into town as well as to activities. The concierge Rachel is amazing and helped me plan and book activities on my time off. They are all amazing. I would stay here again. This is a serious buget hotel make sure you know that before coming. The staff is nice, but the rooms and common areas outside the lobby are really run down. The window in our room was filled with water obscuring the beautiful view. The hallways smell musty and my allergies get worse when I go inside our room. There is no AC only heat, and it's hot in July. The bathroom has mold on the ceiling, a broken faucet, and the sink is missing grout. read more

My brother, who lives here in Bozeman, and I have stayed at the Huntley several times. As the previous Yelpers state, the location and mountain views are amazing. Downsides are that it is pricey, older, and walls are thin, so you do hear people in the halls and rooms nearby. But, other pluses are the really friendly staff, several (many free) activities daily for kids and adults, like crafts, live music, movies, yoga, etc. Also, if you stay here (and book through Central Reservations), kids 10 and under ski free. That's a savings of $53/kid/day. Also, love that there are quite a few options for dining, drinks and shopping nearby. Especially love the indoor pool where you can swim out to the outdoor pool/jacuzzi. Pretty cool! Big Sky is one of my favorite ski resorts, and this is a nice place to stay to experience it. read more
