While checking in to the Rambling Moose RV Park, I could immediately tell that this was a very nice RV park... As a matter of fact, it was a nicest park I stayed in between Oregon and Virginia city! Everything appeared brand new and Kim, the owner, pointed out all of the many amenities that they offered.... including her quilted art artwork! Beautiful! I must've looked pretty sick because Kim, out of the kindness of her soul, refused to allow me to sleep on the ground in the cold that evening. She gave me a camping cabin at no additional cost! Next the next morning, I still felt very ill and was unable to ride my bike. I asked her if she could help me find someone who could take me and my gear from Virginia City to West Yellowstone, which was my destination for that day. Kim, and her husband Greg, without blinking an eye, offered to help me! Kim drove me the 85 miles from Virginia City to West Yellowstone so I could get a hotel room while I recovered from this debilitating stomach issue, People like Kim and Greg of the Rambling Moose RV park are the kind of people that care about their guests and make sure that their guests are comfortable and happy with their experience. Wonderful Folks!!!!!!!

Since it is just 2 of us, we thought it best to leave 2 beds available for a family that might need it. We emailed them to switch us to the single queen bed. They were very quick in their response. No issues or problems, we were switched. As we pulled in, my first impression was how immaculate and pristine the property looked. The lines between the gravel and grass were clean and straight. The grass was well manicured and green. The gravel was thick and pretty. There was nothing but beauty to see. These people care about their property. There are shaded tent-spots steps away from a covered picnic table and a real bathroom (a bathroom with lights, soap, hot water, a flushing toilet and an outlet to charge your phone). Next to the office are free hot showers, real bathrooms, coin-laundry facilities and a sink to wash dishes. Everything was spotless during our 48 hour stay. We stayed in a cabin. There was a small covered porch with 2 plastic resin chairs and a small plastic resin side-table. Next to the cabin is a picnic table and a grill for briquettes when there is no fire ban. Inside, there is a very comfortable, memory foam queen bed that is wrapped in a protective cover. The bed frame is made of logs and is beautiful. Bring your own linens and pillows. We travel with sleeping bags and pillows. There was a lamp, heater, fan, 2 screened windows, a side table, a small square dining table and 2 chairs. The floor is a washable surface (vinyl fake wood?). Because every surface was washable, it was very clean upon our arrival. All cabins have electricity. Check-in was a breeze. The owner was a delight. We talked for several minutes. My most important message to convey to anyone deciding to stay here is this: Safety, trust and piece of mind. They have a strict rule regarding dogs off leash. During our 48 hour stay, we witnessed one dog off leash for a minute. This was quickly addressed and not seen again. I appreciated this very, very much. When you enter the campground, it is clearly posted that only registered guests can continue or you must check-in the office. As we arrived, the owner immediately stepped outside and was greeting us. To me, this means they are very aware of who is in camp. Half the time, we did not lock our cabin. Additionally, they have ice for sale for $2.75. They could gouge the consumer and charge much more. Instead, I feel, they are decent people. Thank you for a wonderful 2 days at your property.

She rambled on about her house, her rules. I asked for the rules; she refused. But none of the staff and the owner said anything about the drunk guy yelling at a woman across the street on another property, using the F'word. Or the group of loud women making breakfast outside, yelling back and forth to communicate between the BBQ area and their camping spot behind me starting at 6am. That was in the rules, but not enforced. It's not like they could use their cell phones, but hey, why would anybody be mad at their rainbow flag and breaking rules? FAFO!

I had not heard any complaints from our groups regarding use of any of the facilities. The dish/wash area was well kept and included a microwave. We were newbies to the RV scene but everyone one else in our group has had their fair share of that RV camping life. They remained patient when they realized we hadn't checked in while we had been physically present for at least an hour on the reserved site and our camper was on its way. Apparently we were happy campers and so were the rest of our group. Our organizer selected this spot due to the ease of fishing access for the kids, there was this little extended patch of land the kids were able to go to each day. They caught rainbow trout, the kids were proud and the ones who were too young but watching, well, it probably only ignited their interest even more. Our experience was good, everyone in our group of 30+ enjoyed ourselves and noted this is one of the better if not best sites they have had on their family camping trip.

A shopkeeper asked if we'd been to this hot springs. We didn't even know about this historic springs. As a last minute idea, we woke up early and checked out in time to soak at Bozeman before flying to our respective home cities. It was a good call! The facility looks very new. Its lobby and architecture is modern and evocative of a high end fitness center. The changing rooms are very well appointed, with large lockers, changing areas and clean showers. Plus, the place smelled amazing! There are pools of varying sizes and temperatures inside but there was a somewhat raucous water aerobics class (or something) when we arrived so we made our way to the outdoor pools. They were very nice and architecturally pleasing. There are multiple outdoor pools and a nice stage and bench areas. If my travels take me to Bozeman again (and I hope they do!), I will definitely prioritize a visit. A cramped airplane seat was infinitely more tolerable after a nice soak! With all the modern touches, I was somewhat surprised to learn that this is an historic springs enjoyed by generations of guests!

The food was great and the service across the board was exemplary. And needless to say the fishing experience was topline with super experienced guides David Kern and Isaac Corman. The true test of an experience, however, comes when one sees how management deals with an issue. Our issue was that the air conditioning broke and the first night the room was unbearably hot. They had an AC team come in and although they couldn't fix the unit while we were there, they had a portable unit installed to take care of the immediate issue. And more importantly, Manu, the manager, worked to reach an acceptable arrangement to cover our discomfort. Overall - I would definitely return and recommend for others to come see what they have to offer.

But not did I learn how to cast a fly (and land a Trout!), but my visit to Madison Valley Ranch ended up being one of the best trips I've ever taken. From the moment you walk in the door, the ranch rolls out the red carpet. After being welcomed with a cold draft beer and tour of the property, we settled into our very comfortable guest rooms to unwind before dinner. Whether you plan to fly fish or not, the entire ranch is designed to make you feel at ease, and at home -- from the incredible back porch views to the outrageously good dishes served up at every meal. Manu and her team take customer service to a new level, from equipping you for an incredible day on the river to selecting the perfect bottle of Cabernet to pair with your dinner. No detail is too small for them, and no request goes unmet. The accommodations are as comfortable as any 4-star hotel, the meals as delicious as any gourmet restaurant, and the views as beautiful as a slice of heaven. I simply can't say enough about Madison Valley Ranch -- whether you're an experienced fisherman or just learning to cast a fly, it's hard to imagine a better place in America to put your rod into the river.
