This is a review of their Grab & Go store. Quick service done right. All the food in the store is nicely packaged with lots of different options to chose from. Pre packaged sandwiches have no sogginess whatsoever and sandwiches are overstuffed. The Chicken Blt and Turkey Sandwich were both delicious. I haven't been here in a while because I moved out of the area but I was in town so I had to stop for the eggplant special hero. It is my favorite sandwich and I get it every time. Picked up one for my brother to try as well and he loved it. He lives in the area so he will be going again. I came in with my baby in her car seat and had quite a few sandwiches. My Daughter ordered this Roast Beef dinner with the works. The roast beef was very tender and tasty and the gravy was an added bonus! The mashed potatoes were smooth and silky and delicious. We catered their Barbecue Package including grill master. Due to bad weather forecast we had to switch to an indoor party vs the planned block party two days before event. We had to make last minute adjustments to the menu with the owners full cooperation. I contacted the owners so many times that they should have run out of patience with me. Best deli in the area, by far. They have an extensive list of daily specials (check out their Facebook page where they post it) and there's almost always something new and interesting on there. My family and I are big fans of their weekly dinner specials, which need to be ordered in advance (usually by Monday/Tuesday of that week for pickup on Thursday/Friday). Their chicken parm dinner includes pasta, salad and fresh bread and feeds a family of 4 easily - likely with leftovers. My go-to meal is their chicken bruschetta salad, with sliced chicken cutlets, fresh mozz and tomatoes (both which are marinated perfectly) on a bed of lettuce with their balsamic dressing. Very large portions, and excellent tasting corn beef and pastrami. My wife got the BLT, and tell me where you've seen this much bacon on a BLT?! I've never seen more bacon and we love it. Thoroughly disappointed in their choice to close the deli to walk-in customers. It surprised me that they made this choice since they were always so busy and customers didn't mind the wait. Tried their Grab and Go store today and was disgusted with the quality of the sandwich. The focaccia bread was hard and broke apart when I picked it up to eat. The lettuce was wilted and soggy. The tomatoes were mushy and tasteless. Before my retirement, I was a frequent patron. Will not patronize the Grab and Go ever again. Thank goodness they're not the only deli in the area. read more

We recently had Shortrounds cater an event. All of the food was excellent and the guests raved about it. The chicken francese and meatballs were loved! And the penne vodka was delicious and saucy, not dry as it can become with catering. Since they switched to the grab and go I haven't been able to get a fresh or customized sandwich. Very disappointed and would love for them to open the deli back up to everyone. Used to be a very good deli. However it now charges 3.5% extra for using a credit card, while raising the food prices at the same time and not giving more food. So you're paying more here while getting less. You can't get a fresh sandwich made. Every thing is pre-made. The food is ok, but for what they charge, it's just an average deli at best. I think their main focus now is catering. Their family meals have gone up in price, but still not bad for what you get. read more

Great variety of filling salad choices and heavy-handed sandwiches make this a solid deli choice in Bergen County. Had the Asian salad with grilled chicken, and also ordered a Fresh Italian hero and some mac salad to bring to the beach the next day. The Asian salad was a surprising treat - awesome, with a huge portion of fresh lettuce, mandarin oranges, grilled chicken, fried noodles and delicious dressing (with more than ample dressing to salad, which I love). The hero was comically heavy, overstuffed with classic italian meats and fresh mozzarella on crispy, soft bread with the works...delicious! Could only had half on the beach. Even the mac salad was definitely above par - fresh and tasty. Short rounds is the most reliable deli in the area. Extremely consistent quality, the chicken noodle soup is out of this world. The bread for all the sandwiches is phenomenal. The meats and cheeses they use are nothing short of the best quality, and the staff is always extremely efficient and friendly. This used to be my weekly lunch spot!!! Now u can only order on line , cant make any changes to sandwiches. Last week my italian hero had no mayo oil ,vinegar. Just absolutely dry! This week I tried a chicken cutlet and it came so cold as if sitting in a fridge for days. Not your normal cold sandwich. Shocked there's only 6 reviews for such a great deli. I've been here twice so far and both times very pleased. Both with service and quality of food. One of my coworkers got me hooked on shortrounds..we work nearby. My first time here I ordered the lucky strike sandwich which consists of chicken cutlet, fresh kozz, prosciutto, balsamic vinegar, and a basil spread, served on a fresh soft long roll. I fell in love! and the sandwich is so big, very filling. Second time around in ordered something similar still chicken cutlet but different topping such as arugula. The guy at the counter who makes the food is super down to earth and friendly...he might be the manager or owner not sure. The deli is super clean and neat inside. Small but has a home-y comforting vibe. The menu has more than just lunch sandwiches/specials. They also have breakfast, salads, wraps, and soups. You can order cold cuts to go as well. If you are ever in the Emerson/Oradell/Westwood area, give this place a try. Your stomach will be very happy! read more

Just ordered the Thursday night dinner special. Chicken with spinach and mozzarella. Was billed as feeds four but could have easily fed five. Came with a salad...individually wrapped with dressing on the side. This is perfect for an easy dinner. Food was delicious and I may do this every week. I was hoping this would become my family's go to deli. We tried it out twice and unfortunately we were disappointed both times. The first time, we ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and it took them about 25 minutes to make. People were coming in, ordering, and leaving before we were served our sandwich. We let it go and thought maybe it was a fluke. The second time, we ordered the same thing but this time called ahead. When got home to eat it, there was one measly chicken cutlet inside. It was an extremely light sandwich and for almost $10, we expected more! My husband said it felt like he was eating a loaf of bread with buffalo sauce on it. I will say the employees both times were very nice and friendly. We just hoped for more from this deli. read more
