To this day I don't understand why people spell doughnut, donut?!?!? My mom would always correct…read moremy spelling so I always thought you spell it doughnut and not donut. I guess this will be another one of those great debates like why did the chicken cross the road kind of thing. If you never heard of Daniel's Donuts then you better ask someone as they have been known to sell thousands upon thousands of just the Nutella one alone daily. I believe one of there stores has around 30 different donuts to choose from. Yes that's right 30 different ones. How can you choose just one? Yes you print can't. They sell each doughnut for $3.50 but you can get 6 for $15. What's cool is that they are not only IG worthy but they taste good too. My better half isn't a dessert person as she doesn't care for sweets too much and she said it had the right combination of not being too sweet and the right amount of softness to the doughnut itself. For me I love sweet and I thought it could of been a little sweeter. I wished it had a little more Nutella inside but the caramel on top was delicious. So maybe I will have to take back my words on saying it could of been sweeter. Guess the only way for me to see if it needs to be is to get six different ones. BTW I got the Nutella and the better half got the lemon filled one which she says taste better than mine. Hmph! I believe you can even order online and even have them delivered to you. Just go check out their website.

Earlier this year while staying in the suburb of Blackburn and after coming into the city to see an…read moreAFL game, I was waiting for my next Blackburn train to arrive at the Flinders Station. The sign said I had about a 30 minute wait. I was getting pretty hungry after a long day of sightseeing and catching the game. So with that thirty minutes to kill now I wanted to find something quick, right near the station. I walked outside, crossed Flinders Street and there it was, exactly what I was looking for. This place, Spanish Doughnuts is a little hole in the wall for sure but with a truly unique food item that blew my mind. Churros! Being from California, I have had many churros. They are everywhere. The movie theater, Disneyland, Sporting events, concerts, Costco! They are all delicious, a fried dough rolled in cinnamon. Pretty basic stuff, all the same everywhere. However this place had a variety flavors! You can get them filled with jams, custard, chocolate, peanut butter. Truly awesome. Some even come dipped in chocolate shell, like a candy bar with a churro inside. I chose the churro with peanut butter in the middle, rolled in a chocolate coat. It was fantastic. They also have a selection of coffee and sodas to choose from. You can make a little combo meal where you get a churro and a coffee and save a buck. Unfortunately for me, I'm now thousands of miles away from this place. I have actually bought churros here and tried to fill them with heated peanut butter but I have to replicate the one I had that night in Melbourne.......

This probably isn't somewhere I'd choose to go during the week or for a savory nibble but I'm…read morethankful that Spanish Doughnuts was around to cater for our late night dessert cravings as we were walking back from the MCG. $10 will get you a 6 piece sweet churros pack with melted chocolate and this was still probably too much between the 3 of us. And they don't do a terrible hot chocolate either.

The line was super long (but fast moving) which got me even more excited.... But honestly they were legit just regular jelly filled donuts? Of course they were fresh so they were good but I'm so confused about what all the hype is about? Not sure if donuts are not as common in Australia but you could get these at any of your local donut shops in the US? I blame myself though for coming all the way to Australia and then seeking out something that literally starts with "American" LOL.

The food is seems so simple yet perfectly executed - donut with jam filling inside. Don't have a big appetite? Don't worry, despite the signs prominently staring a number and a price (e.g. 10 for X), you can buy as few or as many as you want. I wouldn't normally point this out but out of the 30+ people ahead of us, pretty sure we were the only ones to ask and get a different number. Despite the often long lines, the service is impeccable and they move close to the speed of light. It's a well oiled machine. The craziest part? This place has been around since the 50s and the recipe is mostly unchanged. The ambience is era appropriate, too. It's an old bus that provides them shelter and mobility while being the perfect photo opportunity. They had swag, too, if you are into that. Overall, you'll miss out if you don't stop at ADK on your next trip to the area.

All day. This is how long I could spend here eating all the delicious donuts. All day. Not moving…read moreat all. Just devouring doughy-goodness. This place is in the top 3 of donut deliciousness that Melbourne is currently embracing in all it's glazed goodness. The donuts here are surprisingly light and fluffy. We ended up with a creme brulee and a jaffa. I'm still drooling at the thought of how good these were. The Jaffa truly captured the choc-orange flavouring without having either flavour dominate. The creme brûlée was a little on the ugly side to look at. A bit new born squished face. But all was forgiven after the first chomp into the doughy goodness. The cafe space here is within a warehouse zone. There's some great retro styling going on here. Beverage wise you can get brewed coffee, some cold drinks and some alcoholic drinks.

I never thought I would line up for one hour to buy donuts. Hidden in an old warehouse in the back…read morestreets of Brunswick, these legends have aced the donut scene and happen to be the same champs behind the Taco truck and the beatbox kitchen. They are only open Fri and Sat 8am - 3pm (with Sunday being introduced soon) because they spend all week baking the ingredients - even the rubble and freckles are hand made. It's too die for. Five flavours alternating each week. Soft, Fluffy, Sweet and seriously yummy!! The donuts are made on site and you can see the bakers working their magic and smell the sweet aromas drifting from the kitchen. There is coffee available but you'll have to excuse my ignorance for not knowing exactly what brand. I made the wise choice to quit caffeine drinks some years back. I think it could be an Ethiopian brand. Nothing else for sale yet though just donuts and coffee. Whatever you do make sure you roll heads to get the coffee glaze with passionfruit curd and chocolate rubble because it will change your life, it appeared popular and was running out quickly. My advice is to be at the door by 8am. All flavours will be available and you'll be able to buy a stash. By the time we got there it was mid arvo and max purchase of two each. A big bunch of poor buggers behind us missed out. If you want to take a little rest and watch the rows of people pass in and out then just take a seat indoors at the many available tables. Keep kicking goals Brunswick and welcome to the hood All Day Donuts!!

"....CRISP CHURROS..POSSIBLY A BIT PRICEY..DISCOUNT DINING VOUCHERS ALMOST REFLECT TRUE WORTH...."…read more Visited yesterday afternoon.. armed with 3 x $10 Groupon Vouchers - total deal allowed the spending of up to $60 in-store or to take-away.. Well.. I purchased 4 boxes of 6 churros per box with 1 chocolate sauce each.. Cost $14.95 each. Yes.. they were freshly fried.. Yes.. they were crisp.. No.. they were not the best I've had.. 1. they were too thin - not enough texture inside them.. bordered on the dry.. 2. the oil wasn't flavour-some - this type of doughnut requires an olive oil blend - gives them an authentic taste.. I think these are cooked in canola oil - quite tasteless.. 3. each box should have come with a selection of dipping sauces.. not just the 1.. and especially not at that price..!! Plus:- We tried the dark chocolate and the white chocolate sauces - both real chocolate - that was a bonus.. Minus:- We were a bit disappointed with the size of them.. out of the 4 boxes of 6 - 24 in total - not 1 churros was anywhere near the length of the box.. and I do think they're supposed to be.. 12'' long..? I would NOT have paid $59.80.. the Menu price.. Rather, I do believe the $30 voucher price was nearly the RIGHT PRICE for these churros from SPANISH DOUGHNUTS.. Possibly $40 is the RIGHT PRICE - $10 per pack.. considering they've got to pay rent on Glenferrie Road.. Hawthorn.. If I see another voucher.. I'll buy again.. otherwise.. I won't.. I don't think.. I'll have to wait to see if I might get a craving for them, particularly!.. meaning them, in particular..!! Visited on Friday 25/09/2015 for Churros to take home.

This is a 24-hour doughnut shop in Springvale with lots of NZ-style pies and baked goods. I'd heard…read morethat they had a pretty good range of vegan doughnuts, and we were in the area anyway, so we went down to check it out. I was pretty shocked to find a massive queue when we got there (on a Saturday around 3pm). Who ever expected to find such a long queue at a 24-hour doughnut shop way down in Springvale?! Luckily, the line moved fast and soon we got our orders in less than fifteen minutes. We opted for the $15 box of 6 doughnuts, trying each of their five vegan options. This included original glazed, cinnamon, Oreo, hot jam, and peanut butter and jelly (my favorite). My boyfriend also got a non-vegan Nutella doughnut. The vegan doughnuts tasted exactly like non-vegan doughnuts -- it was impossible to tell they didn't have dairy or egg in them. They also do coffee and savoury pies. Of the savoury pies, they have one vegan option -- a pumpkin and curry. I didn't try it but it looked nice. Everything was very tasty and enjoyable. It's not as good as, say, Doughnut Time, but then again you're also getting 6 doughnuts for the price of 2.5 Doughnut Time doughnuts! Basically, I wouldn't say rush all the way down here if you live in the northern suburbs or something -- these doughnuts are not THAT amazing -- but for their wide range of vegan options, they certainly get my vote (and my money!) And any south-side vegans or people with dairy/egg allergies should definitely check this place out!
