He was able to to cut the length into shorter pieces with a circular saw, but he was confused and asked me how to cut the width of the pieces on the table saw. I had to show him how to measure them and then put them through the saw. He was clueless, and I had to stop short of doing it myself, which I think he might have let me do! Very nice guy, but SPL&H should train him before he gets hurt on one of these machines. This was a red flag and the first indication of the lack of professionalism relating to the owners and staff of Somers Point Lumber & Home. A day later, I returned, because I needed one of the pieces trimmed again. When I asked at the store counter, both the rep and owner flatly refused to help me! With a very dismissive and insulting response, they told me "it's against NJ State rules and OSHA" and whatever other bullsh*t they could think of. I was amazed at their attitude and dismissal of my request. This place is unprofessional and they don't care about their customers. On the other hand, the staff at Home Depot in Egg Harbor lumber department were attentive, helpful and professional. I always prefer to support a local business over a national brand store, but with Somers Point Lumber & Home... NEVER again!! My advise, don't waste your time/money at Somers Point Lumber & Home!

We recently purchased a home where Coastal Construction built the kitchen. That project was approximately 8 years ago. We wanted to replace one of the cabinets and had to go through Coastal Construction because the cabinet vendor requires that we work with one of their sellers. From the very beginning it was apparent that this was a huge inconvenience for Mr. Geisler. My assumption was that it wasn't a big enough project for him or, that it was interrupting his time in Florida. In truth, I never understood why he didn't just redirect us to someone else if this was going to be such a nuisance. It took months to move this along. Mr. Geisler does not appear to track follow up actions he commits to nor does he seem to know how to use the telephone. He communicates by short, curt texts that do not answer entire questions. It was like pulling teeth to get him to do anything. I had to follow-up constantly. In fact, I finally contacted the cabinet manufacturer who reached out to Mr. Geisler to get him to respond. At one point I asked if there might be anyone else in his showroom / office and he mentioned his girlfriend worked there but she was in Florida with him. When the cabinet finally arrived he did not check it to make sure it was correct or unblemished. It was done incorrectly. By this time Mr. Geisler was again in Florida. He left it for us in his driveway. After we unpacked it (ourselves) and loaded it into our car (ourselves...btw my 72 year old husband has had open heart surgery), we realized there was no cabinetry hardware. Mr. Geilser never reminded us or suggested to us to purchase the hardware that allows you to open the cabinet. We will never work with this company again. We will never recommend them. And I am posting this as caution to anyone else who is seeking a construction professional in the South Jersey area.

Bob and Rick are experienced and skilled men. I was SO happy to have a team with a solid skillset who truly cared about doing things the RIGHT way. The attention to detail was there fully 120%. You cannot ask for anything more than that. My quartz was installed shortly after the cabinets. Sheryl was very helpful in the quartz counter selection process and even steered me towards a different flooring coloring than I had in mind based off of my cabinet/counter selection. I ended up heeding her advice and it worked well. Backsplash, hood range, and flooring were done by others. Advanced handled my under cabinet lighting that is not shown in the pictures but is now shown in a new video I posted. It looks fabulous. Bree was very helpful in the process and was able to offer a suggestion for pantry space that I did not have prior. My kitchen is not the largest and my footprint was not going to be changing. That was a game changer for me. I now have the space I desperately needed because of the design she worked up. I could not be happier with the service and quality that Advanced supplied. This was a big output of cash for me and I feel I received my money's worth. Not only did they measure incorrectly, they did not coordinate the plumber rather saying we would have to wait several days to use our bathroom. We have used other granite companies and had excellent service and workmanship. This is one good reason NOT to buy local. Poor response to a very dissatisfied customer.
