But sometimes we just can't be bothered - and this is pretty much where the Tesco Metro comes in. Seeing as I live approximately three minutes from this store, I do find myself here much more regularly than I would like to admit. It's really convienient, it's not too expensive, and contrary to Catriona's review - it has a great variety of products. In all the months I have been frequenting this store - there have only been a handful of things that they haven't had. Whether you're after pasta, wine, fruit and veg or pizzas - it's unlikely that you'll be disappointed. Plus, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Well, at least they are to me - but that may be because I spend so much time there that they practically know me by name. Maybe I need to spread my wings a little bit.

I swear to the lord Jeebus, that I'm currently unable to walk more than 10 mins in any direction and not be met with a small/medium or large Tesco. But that's just the way it is. As the only newsagent in this patch, he does a good trade, and has interesting local adverts stuck on the door. They don't have a massive range of magazines, but a full stock of national papers: they used to sell alcohol, too. Best as a newsagents, it still provides the basics without going into stupidly expensive territory.

I made a purchase the other weekend of six cans of beer. They were 4 for £5. This required the young lad at the counter to use a calculator to work out how much 6 would be!! Also, when packing the cans into a bag, he gave no regard for, nor did he have any idea about, how to pack them. Some were lying on there side, some were upsidedown. It may not be the young lads fault but it is certainly the owners fault. I have noticed this on several occasions with other young guys at the desk. It may seem petty but it is not the way the packing of these products should be carried out. If I have noticed this I am sure others have too. A little tuition & TLC would not go wrong here.

No thats the feeling you get from some members of staff if you ask them a question, insist on them going just a tiny bit out of their way or maybe just breathe a wee bit too loudly. All this said though, this is a fairly big store with half decent stock, reasonable prices and, here is the 4th star kicker, it's very convenient for anyone who jumps off at Kelvinbridge tube station. Add this to the 'I shop at my local co-op whilst you throw your money into the fat cats big trough and watch while they gorge themselves stupid' feeling of superiority you get when walking out, and you have yourself a fine wee shop. Ooh, the 'wee' shop I mention above.... exactly that. Don't expect to be able to stretch out between aisles or maneuver a buggy around here without attracting a heavy mist of disgruntled exhalation from the staff. All in the fun though.
