It's usually been pretty clean when I've dropped in and I've never had trouble finding what I'm looking for, except when it's simply not something they stock. The staff are pretty great and get through the queues quickly. It's fine as a convenience store if you need to pick up a few things when you're in the area.

I can tell you how: It's the only place to buy groceries on this part of Argyle Street that's open 24 hours a day. That's worth something when everywhere else has closed and you're out of milk... or worse, toilet paper. They're actually not bad for a convenience store, either. The prices are steep-ish but not extortionate and they're the kind of store that also has lots of handy little bits and pieces. So, maybe you're only going in for a loaf of bread, but if you realise you need a pack of safety pins or a bottle opener or something, they'll likely have that too. Oh, and there's a cash machine right outside which doesn't charge and never seems to have a queue in front of it, even when the one outside Tesco has a massive queue. I have no idea why no one wants to use this one - maybe they just don't know it's there?

The mini mart has been here for what feels like eternity. In…read morethe past they used to have this shop open 24 hours, but as trends change so did the opening hours. This is still a good shop but it's one that I rarely stop by at to buy anything more than juice and even that's a rare occasion, and I think the reason is that they rarely support any Scottish or even British businesses for example they buy in bakery items amongst many other items in from Holland or Germany probably because it's cheaper but they mark up the prices higher than regular shops. But still they are one of the few shops that are open at 6am.

I find the security staff intimidating and rude I think one guy there has mummy issues and should really have counselling and not be taking his anger out on customers who do no wrong. The self service section is a joke as half of them have not been switched on and the one l used made me feel as if l just won the jackpot on a fruit machine in a pub, how can a shop justify paying a customer 62p change in 2p pieces. Ice cream that has been defrosted is being re frozen and sold again when l reported the issue to the duty manager he did nothing. Tesco sort yourselves out!

I came here last summer as I was making a family meal and I had forgotten to buy tomatoes which were a pretty important ingredient. I nipped along the Tesco Express just a few doors along but they had sold out. Oh dear. Not really sure what to do I decided to give this little store a try. As soon as I popped in the door I was greeted by a box of red, ripe, juicy tomatoes, phew! I bought around 4 and they came to about 80p, what a bargain! The woman working that day was really helpful and chatted to me as she was bagging my tomatoes so I decided to share my tomato based disaster with her. Thank goodness Value Convenient Store saved the day!

Meanwhile, a tasty bottle of Black Heart is a mere £13.99. This shop is not only good for frozen and/or instant food but also stocks most simple ingredients for pasta bakes and the like e.g. cheese, onions, peperoni (three for £1.50) and jars of bolognese sauce. However, you'll also find good two for £2 deals on litres of fruit juice (perfect for picking up on the way home for a Sunday morning breakfast). You'll also find a good range of - slightly overpriced - cheeses, meats and homemade samosas. Meanwhile, for the fast food folks among you there is a pretty good selection of frozen pizzas, chips, burgers and, of course, ice creams near the back of the shop. I just popped in to get a pint of milk. I wasn't feeling great, I have a bit of a cold. The guy behind the counter assured me that all I needed was a sunny weekend and I'd be right as rain. I nodded politely. He then gave me double finger guns THEN a double thumbs up. I left feeling much better.
