Just another convenience store on Argyle Street, basically one business away from a Tesco Express, so wondering how it has survived would be reasonable. I can tell you how: It's the only place to buy groceries on this part of Argyle Street that's open 24 hours a day. That's worth something when everywhere else has closed and you're out of milk... or worse, toilet paper.
They're actually not bad for a convenience store, either. The prices are steep-ish but not extortionate and they're the kind of store that also has lots of handy little bits and pieces. So, maybe you're only going in for a loaf of bread, but if you realise you need a pack of safety pins or a bottle opener or something, they'll likely have that too.
Oh, and there's a cash machine right outside which doesn't charge and never seems to have a queue in front of it, even when the one outside Tesco has a massive queue. I have no idea why no one wants to use this one - maybe they just don't know it's there? read more
