I never post reviews, but I finally had to. It used to be a fairly pleasant experience shopping there, however it has gone down hill. My experience was so awful yesterday with a cashier that was rude and constantly talking to coworkers in another language completely unresponsive to me. Also, the managers, again not helpful and act indifferent. I could write more but I won't. I'm done with them. read more

Staff act like you are bothering them when you ask a simple question! Self checkout you need to ask for bags from Behind the counter, completely destroying the point of SELF checkout. Ever since the remodel the store has been not the same. read more

I'm more of a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's guy generally speaking but there are basic items that ShopRite has that are hard to get at those stores. Wise Potato Chips, Jif Peanut Butter, Progresso Soup, etc. so once a week we head over to ShopRite Commerce for some weekly odds and ends. It's become a tradition. Lately, Shop Rite has gone through a MUCH needed transformation with high ceilings and a warehouse feel that has improved the dingy 1970s style interior. Currently, the exterior is also being worked on. It's likely to compete with Stop n Shop, a competitor. They still play only 1980s music which teeters it too far into the past. Some simple lounge type music would bring more relevance and emerge it from its time capsule. The clientele are a bit rough around the edges and most people look rather weary and tired. The workers are okay, some very pleasant and some no nonsense but everyone seems capable at their jobs. The store is well stocked. I can't speak for the deli, butcher, bakery, or fresh fish because I never buy those things. Honestly, I don't find I spend any less than I do at Whole Foods so not sure if I'd call Shop Rite a bargain store. For basic essentials, I'm a fan. read more

Made the mistake of coming to this grocery store today. If I could give zero stars I would. Whole place smells like a bathroom. The clientele looks like they just woke up in a back alley. being disrespected by the lady in the bakery in a hajib (fcuk spell check) and the Indian who chose not to speak English with me and fussed with me about a coupon - so after I paid 109 dollars debit I went straight to management cause tf is yall hiring disrespectful immigrants. Asked for return and the round bald white manager offered me 10 dollars and a cake lol tf he thought I was a needy brown American well after I said I'll take money back all of it fo the return, he proceeded to say how he's going to investigate the matter I lifted my hat cause now I'm passed I had to even - lifted my hate and told that man unfortunately nothing will be done that's why I took the money back and I won't come back. Let's start off that the store is going through a much needed renovation but that has nothing to do with my rating. There is something to be said about buying name brand vs store brand. Growing up in Brooklyn I had numerous delicatessens to choose from. You get used to certain deli meats like pastrami. In today's world you don't get the old world version, now you get cryo pac meats. We all see commercials for Boars Head so we expect good things. We'll in this case bad me I went with the store brand. Bad move, very bad move. You ever try biting a rubber band? Tough and tasteless even my dog turned her nose up. If my trip back and forth wasn't 12 miles round trip I would have returned this pastrami. The next time I want pastrami I will either make it myself or get Boars Head and no this is not a paid advertisement! Overall impressed. The store is well laid out, sensibly stocked, as well as extensively, with some thoughtful considerations to quite a lot of cultures. Someone has a colorful flair!! The store is clean!! There are sanitizing wipes and the staff wear masks. However no one is washing down the shopping carts you are expected to do that yourself, and some of the cashiers could smile a little more but hey I'm not shopping there for them I'm there for the selection. Overall I'm impressed and I'll keep coming back. They even have lamb, live lobsters and some really big Clams and quite a big selection of dried fruits and Nuts!!! Go get it!! read more

I gave this store 5 stars for many years. Went away for 3 weeks. Returned today, to my surprise, to find a complete change in the store layout. I just don't like it at all. Everything is now scattered: bananas one way, then 2 aisles later another stand. Before this change it was so easy to find things in the same place, and people were friendly and helpful. I've been shopping at this ShopRite for over ten years. I go there at least twice per week. Unfortunately it has steadily gone down hill. In general the store could really use an upgrade. The floors are dirty and the indoor/outdoor carpet in the entrance is filthy. Most workers in the store have no idea where anything is. The courtesy counter is usually empty. They have digital coupons that for some reason you have to check in at the one and only screen in the store. There is usually a line of two or three people and the scanner doesn't work. So you have to punch in all the numbers. The attendants at the self check act like they are doing you a big favor when you ask for help. read more

Kesley, the self checkout associate, snuck up behind my girlfriend, ripping a coupon out of her hand. We complained to the manager. Nothing was done. Next incident, Kesley jabbed my gf with a red baske. Thirdly, he made comments with his friends about how scared we were. Aamir, the store manager, hung up on us, threatening the cops because he doesn't want to do his job. Aamir lied and said he watched the third incident. He gave two different stories about what he watched, regarding that third incident. read more

Began home delivery to see how they handled it and in anticipation of C19 challenges ahead this winter. We are really pleased in all aspects. Orders have been accurate, substitutions are only made if you respond to their txt and agree while they are filling the orders. The original test run was produce, frozen, deli meat and eggs. All fine and within expiration dates. Second delivery was more expansive, two substitutions made correctly, price adjusted accordingly. Delivery guys have been very nice, on time, professional and adhering to C19 protocols. Their prices are so much better than any of the 5 other chains between us and Stamford, well worth the delivery charge. And added safety to boot. For customers- put in your order several days in advance and you will have ample delivery date and times available, -be sure to have your phone near two hours before your delivery so they can txt you for permission if any substitutions are necessary. PS Kudos to all the staff for their dedication during the crazy days last spring, truly front line heroes. read more

I usually shop at this store because of good quality for the price. If you go there during this health crisis, please be sure to keep your 6 feet of distance. ALSO, please pay attention to the blue arrows on the floor that marks traffic patterns. Employees are kind to wipe down your cart handles, but they are not keeping 6 feet of distance. I shop at this market and I decided to try out the cafe today at around 2:45 or so. It was filed with its employees, which isn't a bad thing because they need to eat too, but customers wouldn't be ale to eat as a result. The event that prompted me to write this review is that the woman behind the counter didn't acknowledge the two of us as we stood at the counter alone. There was no line. Instead, she continued to work on preparing food or something and blurted out "YOU GOTTA WAIT", at which point I immediately did an about face and left the store. I'll still shop there for the convenience, but expectations for the cafe at least, have been dashed. 0 stars for the cafe. 4 stars for the supermarket. read more

Super clean and definitely easy to navigate through. Being a new yorker, it's definitely a whole lot easier to navigate through this place, especially with the amount of people that visit. Probably the largest selection of milk that I've ever seen and the speed checkout area is awesome because that way... if you have a few items, you dont need to worry about hopping in line. Parking lot is pretty big and the service is great. I had to look for okra and well, they didnt have any out... BUT.. they were able to get me a good pound or so for the dish I was making. good times! read more

This review is solely for the catering department. Had a last-minute family event that needed some quick food. Usually order from Stew's, but logistically that wasn't possible this time. Was a bit apprehensive as no one I asked had gotten stuff from this location before. Happy and pleasantly surprised with the quality and freshness of everything we got, both hot and cold food. Sushi lady was just finishing up our platter when I arrived, and catering manager loaded everything up on a cart and helped me pack up my car in the middle of the parking lot. Been driving up to this Shoprite for over 5 years from NY and I spend well over $100 each week. Lately I've noticed much higher prices and unstocked shelves. Today when I asked the manager to substitute an item that they did not have on the first day of the sale, he refused. Only really came in for a beer run, but went through the aisles and saw lots of things not In correct places. Older Indian or middle eastern manager yelling down the aisle to his worker telling him to do something else, very unprofessional and not what I expect in retail. Cashier wasn't very good, decided to put glass together in a bag surprised it made it to the car without breaking. read more

Bakery is Very Good, everything else? Feh The Hot Prepared food section is awful, Cheap poorly prepared food.. Whole Foods and Stew Leonard's are MUCH better, as is Fairway. This place is huge. My mouth dropped to the floor when I first walked in. There is a great international section which helped me when I did thai cooking. They can make you a roll of sushi and a pizza. They also have cooking classes which I find to be great, with interesting dishes. Again, this place is huge. The absolute best grocery store...on vacation in RI now and I have never appreciated this store more. In addition to wonderful prices and selection on produce and good quality meats/seafood, the best selection of baby products I've found in a supermarket.
