ShopRite doesn't have the most competition around but everything is generally fresh and reasonably priced. The management is trustworthy and the staff is friendly. I enjoy shopping there. read more

This place just puts me in the worst mood the minute I walk in the door. Hires special needs cashiers on a SATURDAY? I don't want to spend my weekend watching your cashiers take FOREVER to ring up and bag my groceries. I'm sure the owner writes it off on his taxes... I'm all for helping the special needs folks, but not behind the register, and especially not on the weekend. ShopRite in Flemington is crowded, but the cashiers get you fast. Why can't they do that in Clinton? Is it something in the water out here? Go to Bishops/Thriftway supermarket and see how a supermarket SHOULD be run. The cashiers don't let you touch your groceries. You're in and out, all with a smile on your face. When another supermarket opens up in this one horse town, I will NEVER step foot in ShopRite of Clinton again. read more

Used the pharmacy for the first time. Had exceptional service. They even gave me info to get a coupon from the manufacturer of one of my meds. Saved me 100 dollars. And reprocessed the payment amount while I waited. Will definitely use them again. read more

Ditto that "you've come a long way baby" review! Changes we've seen here over the past 5 or 6 years have all been good. Increasing variety and selection, especially of vegan options, organic produce, and even a few international items. Store is clean. Food is fresh. Staff is friendly. And I think that Shop From Home is genius! Very happy with this place! read more

They really do take advantage of customers. Once in a while they do these rearranging things. Whenever they do that it's a pain, but you get used to it in about two weeks. However, the last one they went way overboard. Nothing makes sense. It's been over two weeks and I still don't know where anything is. The worst part is that they haven't updated those black signs that hang over the sections so you know where to find what you are looking for. Instead, they have these paper signs literally right in front of the sections so that's no help. They are really lucky that they are the closest supermarket near me. The customer service is also terrible. They pay no heed to the customers. And you know what? During that last big snowstorm they were offering free water under $5.00. But it wasn't shoprite! It was a different provider so that shoprite won't be losing any money! Thank you for caring about people! You're a lovely supermarket. read more

You are now high tech with do-it-yourself registers, and have a decent Cash Back amount on your Debit, you have always been my Grocery Store of choice, and will continue to be. You still have lots of the same people who've worked there For Ever -- Say Hi to me no matter how long I''ve been away, and never say no to a request. With prices this good, a wonderful selection of fresh, frozen, specialty items including organic and gluten free, I don't have to travel to the Branchburg Shop-Rite, or the higher priced Gourmet Grocery Stores. The best grocery store, period. Fresh produce, variety of brands, great sales, friendly employees & never a problem. I save a lot of money here. They also keep this store extremely clean, which is important for me since a grocery store is where you buy your food. It should NEVER be dirty and Shop Rite in Clinton never is. read more

I would like to take a moment to complain/offer feedback on an issue at the Clinton, NJ Shoprite location. The issue is with the store prepared chicken (crispy and rotisserie). I have come into the Clinton location on numerous occasions at dinner time (6:00-6:30pm) to purchase some store prepared chicken. And on numerous occasions, there is no chicken available. Not only is there no prepared chicken available, the unit that houses the chicken and keeps it warm is empty, cold to the touch and looks like it has been cleaned for the evening (and this is at 6:30pm). The second display, the one in front of the check-out lines is also empty. Again, this is at dinner time. And if you go to the deli area where they cook the chicken and ask if there will be any more chicken coming out soon, you are told "no" and that everything has already been turned off for the evening and cleaned. My issue is that it's dinner time. How can they turn off the cookers/ovens when people are just getting home from work and making dinner for their families at that time? If this only happened once, I could possibly understand, but it has happened numerous times at this location, and every time, the same answer. This appears to be the norm rather than the exception. This evening, at 6:30pm, when I visited the Clinton Shoprite, specifically for crispy chicken for my kids, again, there was no chicken what-so-ever. No crispy chicken and no rotisserie. I decided this evening to speak to a manager about it. While I waited at the Customer Service counter for a manager (which was less than an 8 minute wait), I counted no less than 7 people looking at the same empty chicken display I had just looked at in front of the check-out lines and they moved on because there was no chicken. There wasn't even cold crispy chicken I could buy in the prepared refrigerator section. When the manager, Rich, came to the front to speak to me (the time was now approximately 6:45pm), I expressed my frustration about the chicken situation. He agreed with me that the store is open until 10pm and it is dinner time, so he was confused too as to why there was no chicken. He asked me if I had checked with the deli section (where they make the chicken) to see if there was any chicken coming out and I explained that I had not because of what they always say when I do ask. He proceeded to go over there (I followed) to ask if there was any more crispy chicken coming up and he was told the same thing they always tell me. "No, there isn't any more chicken coming out." And when he asked why not, the woman behind the counter said that everything had been turned off and cleaned already. Rich wanted to help, but what can he do when the fryers and ovens are turned off and cleaned already (even though it was only 6:45pm). Obviously they had been turned off, allowed to cool in order to be cleaned, and then cleaned, which means the employees would have had to start that process well before dinner time. And to add insult to injury, the crispy chicken was on sale for $5.99. How much money must the store have lost by not preparing more chicken and/or not leaving the ovens/fryers on a little later to accommodate the later dinner crowds (the ones who don't work locally and have to drive home when they get out of work at 5pm). Rich did offer to give me a complimentary crispy chicken tomorrow, but how many other people would he need to do that to to satisfy the chicken deficit at that location? While I doubt they will do anything to change this flaw in their prepared foods area, I thought they should know it is frustrating and making me want to drive somewhere else to spend my money. And I don't mind driving. I lived in Florida for 20 years before moving to this area in 2015 and was an avid Publix Supermarket shopper (surely you have heard of Publix?). They always had prepared chicken hot and ready (especially at dinner time) and if they didn't, they would make it for you if you didn't mind waiting. I was never told "no" or that their fryers/ovens were already turned off and cleaned for the evening (especially at dinner time) and they would do that for you right up until about an hour before they closed. I don't miss Florida, but I miss Publix. read more

I'm furious! Been shopping at this shoprite for a little over two years now due to me working at HDC which os located across the street and just experienced the worst thing that could ever happen to a valued customer! My character was "DEFAMED" by a customer service representative at Shoprite of Clinton. I discovered this when going to my local shoprite located in East Orange. Myself as well as my mother went to customer service because both of our digitals did not come off of neither one of our accounts. The Rep was asking me so many questions in reference to her refunding me so we both showed her our Identification which she said was not necessary...I was so embarrassed like all of this for a refund. So before leaving she notified me that clinton shoprite notated my mother account "POSSIBLE SCAM DONE BY (MYSELF) FOR DIGITAL COUPONS" While leaving out the door I contacted Shoprite of Clinton and spoke to GARY and explained to him this serious matter. The worst manager I ever spoke to in my life! When I told him what the ppl in line asked me which was "Are they racist????" He replied "YOU PPL are crazy, we would never do such a thing like that." What did he mean by "YOU PPL"!?!!!!! He lacked professionalism to the fullest extent! He took my number and never contacted me back the next day. Monday morning I spoke to various managers in attempt to get in touch with the general manager in which they ensured me that the issue was fixed and apologized. It was clear that this issue was not a mistake in which everyone agreed with me. I wanted answers and they failed to give it to me! Why? Never once did I think it had anything to do with RACE HOWEVER THIS INCIDENT BELIEVES ME TO THINK OTHERWISE! I came in yesterday and was able to speak to Store Manager Rick Lynch in which he seemed sincere and apologetic for the incident that occured. Been shopping here for 10 plus years. We have been using shop from home for 3 plus years. After using shop from home last night we noticed a dent in our cars trunk lid. I completely understand accidents happen and clearly that's what this was but, after calling and speaking with Gary from shop from home I am astonished by the attitude of this man representing the store. He had the most condescending tone and seem to just not care. When I confronted him about his attitude he rattles off that that's just my opinion. I asked if he needed me to contact my insurance company or wait till his people look at it. His response was either or, followed by a dead silence. I am astonished by the flagrant disregard of care and service to one of his long time store customers. Dear Shoprite: I would like to buy avocados that actually ripen and soften instead of turning to rubber. I would like to buy pineapples that are not dry and rotting before being ripe. I would love for you to not manipulate your pricing according to holiday seasons, raising before and dropping afterward. I would like to buy frozen fish that does not have flies frozen in with the fish. I'd like to park in your lot without adding more door dings each time. I would love it if your deli department didn't consistently go over on my order weight then ask me if it's ok, cause it's not ok unless you're going to comp the overage. If I order Smithfield, I'd actually like to have Smithfield. Now that you are the only game in town, I have to drive to a supermarket that can provide me with those things. I know you do a lot of nice things for the community. Now, can you do some nice things for the store and your CUSTOMERS and improve the produce and set your prices? that would be really great.
