Afternoons get busy, but mornings are much quieter and honestly the best time to shop. The prices here are great. I've seen brand-name products that Target sells for $5-$10 more, so the savings are real. Apparel is hit-or-miss though sizing isn't always consistent. Same goes for electronics: some gems, some duds. My advice? If you see something you like, grab it the first time. Chances are it won't be there tomorrow. This location is surprisingly big two full floors to browse. The ground level has a mix of apparel with some beauty items sprinkled in, but if you head toward the back, that's where things open up: more beauty products, snacks, and body wash lined up all the way down the aisle. I've actually found some of the same beauty brands here for cheaper than other stores, which is always a win. A lot of the items are decently priced and worth grabbing if you're already in the area.

Addison was my sales person and he was amazing. I purchased a green T-shirt long green cargo shorts and a pair jeans. As I was checking out a woman wearing a Hijab was the cashier and she's unbelievably unprofessional first I overheard her talking to a teenage girl that was doing a return and telling her oh you have a baby you're a baby yourself to be having a baby. Then when she rang up my merchandise she just wasn't warm didn't ask about my shopping experience, nothing. didn't say goodbye didn't seem like she really cared and that bothered me. The problem is Addison is the only sales person that I have dealt with in a few years that actually knows the merchandise. Had I gone in there like I usually do with no one knowing anything I would have left empty-handed.

Then go directly to the boxes near the store's exit. The trick is to shut the kiddie seat and then scan 3 boxes as soon as you come in - two the long way and then one boc perpendicular to the two. Then shop, scan and put it in the box. After you moderately fill the 3 boxes (so you don't strain yourself putting it in your car after you leave) go back and get 3 more boxes to put on top of the bottom 3. After you finish shopping go to the weighing stations to the left of the cashiers, scan your cart and then the scanning cart to the right of the scale. There will be a ding and a green sign above the sccale - then move to the screens straight ahead and scan the screen. You are done. Now return the laser to the box and just pay with your credit card.

She handed me the receipt while 300 dollars of groceries was on the refister waiting to be packee. I put the receipt in one of the bags. I was in front of the cashier and the exit. She wouldn't let me leave without the receipt. Like hell was I going to go empty 20 Bags to find the receipt! When to customer service. She apologized and escorted me to the register. She had the cashier print out another receipt and let me go. what a terrible experience. If the line is out the door the cashier can lift a finger to help pack!!!! I don't live in Brownsville, but occasionally I will shop under the El there on my way to the Rutland Rd/Sutter Avenue train station. On two occasions that I've been to this store, management will run offensive announcements over the PA. The first time it was, "Please don't steal." The second announcement was a rambling, whiny missive about how stealing isn't allowed. These announcements could've been about anybody, but it didn't matter. I felt profiled, because it was made just as I and a handful of other people entered the store. I would've walked out right then and there but if I had, that would've looked like I was one of the people the announcement had been aimed at. So, I bought my stuff and then vowed to never shop at this location again. It's always funny to me when corporate-owned chain stores open businesse in low income ethnic communities but then turn around and do something like this. There are an entire slew of mom and pop businesses on this street--including two bargain basements-- and never in the 30 years I've shopped at them did I ever feel they were being "besieged," to the extent of making overtly racist PA announcements or feeling profiled. They just have everyone do bag checks and go old school with the Wall of Shame. Maybe Dollar General should just close up shop if it can't handle the stress of doing business in this area and let the pros--the moms and pops--handle troublemakers with a lot more class and old school ingenuity.

He told me he didn't have time to talk to me because he was very busy and wouldn't be available to talk for the next 3 days. His customer service skills are terrible.
