Overpriced Garbage - Stay Away!!! I bought a kapota from…read morePrimo Kapota over a year ago, thinking that since their prices are extraordinarily expensive, they must offer high quality and great service. I was very, very wrong. Despite paying such a high price, the quality was absolutely terrible. The kapota ripped apart in places that I barely even touch. After just a few months, I went back to them, expecting some level of responsibility. Instead, they shrugged it off and said, "Yeah, we don't know. That's your problem." Rather than fixing it properly, they just patched over the holes. And, of course, after a few months, the patches ripped again--plus new holes appeared! When I went back again, they told me, "Yeah, this is your problem." At first, they charged me $50 to patch up two small holes. Now, for the same holes plus a new one, they suddenly want $400! (I found much better tailor Bugi who did WONDERFUL job only for $40!!!!!!) This is outrageous. These people are scammers and charlatans. They charge a premium price for a garbage product and then try to squeeze even more money out of you for useless "repairs." Stay far, far away!

My issue with both locations, they don't offer customization with their products. What impressed me mostly with Bellissimo Custom Hats, is right in the title. They are custom hats that are made in house by hand. They have antique hat machines and sewing machines being used by real people. Bellissimo Custom Hats are just that, its not a massed produced product that you'd buy in a department store. Reading the past yelp reviews had me a little spooked. When I buy a hat, I want to try on the hat as well as inspect the fit and finish. That's why I decided to drive from Long Island to their showroom. Parking? Sucks. I was lucky to find a spot a block away. I get to the front door and I was buzzed inside. Once inside, there are many beautiful hats on display. The sales person had me waiting a few while he finished up his telephone call. Once his call was completed, I introduced myself and said would like to purchase a Camel Fox Fedora. He explained there aren't any in house but there is something similar, its a camel hat but with a smaller ribbon. I try on a medium and fell in love with the fit, finish and color. Sold! Look at my picture, its a pretty dope hat. The gentleman put my purchase in a standard hat box, for $75 bucks I could of purchased an upscale hat box. The cardboard box is fine. There was a linear gouge in the brim and the lining was half out. They were prompt in allowing me to return it, but what has followed has been weeks, months of frustration. Their policy is one of no refunds. I have called weekly for many weeks. The usual explanation, when I can reach someone, is that it is being made in the factory. I am promised a call back or an email regarding status and it rarely happens and the information is not helpful or totally false. On multiple occasions I have asked them to just refund the $300 and I will walk away. That is not their policy. It is unfortunate that this circumstance came to be. I did receive my second hat in the vault series just prior to canceling the series. I have many hats and the one I received from Bellissimo is quite nice. In my view, It is debatable whether it is worth the price and my experience with their customer 'service' negates any joy that the hat would give me. A good business would recognize their error, acknowledge it, and make good asap. I cannot recommend this business. Buyer beware. Having written this, after weeks of frustration, I wonder whether I will ever receive any hat. I know that I won't receive a refund. 'It's not their policy.'
