I like this Shoppers, its big and nice. Because its on 17th ave, its a lot busier compared to the other near by Shoppers. There are more to buy here, for instance, 4L jug of milk. The other ones don't have the bigger size. Also they have more selections and bigger section on cosmetics etc. read more

Great staff, generally no wait times for pharmacy or checkout lines, well stocked, overall friendly and fast.

Came for a card and found a good selection. Also looked around to see what else is in the store. This Shoppers has the Beauty Boutique when you walk in, and a large food section with frozen foods, dairy, and drinks. There's also the selection of canned goods and cookies. The seasonal section had gifts for Christmas and if you are desperate you could likely do lots of shopping in this one store. There wasn't a long line at the check out and it was efficient. I like the Optimum rewards and find they add up quickly and have events to offer additional money to redeem for. read more

I like this Shoppers outlet because the staff are friendly and helpful. Sometimes they do not have the advertised sale stock items on the shelves or are sold out. I use this store for pick up items that I need right away. Most of their PC points program is focused on women's beauty products which is of no use to me. They occasionally will have specials I can take advantage of but overall there just isn't enough selection for me to come here regularly. The store is always, clean, well organized and easy to find items. read more

This review 5*+ goes out to Kristina V at 815 17th Ave SW location. I was attending a concert with my husband and we were staying overnight DT. Shortly after checking in I realized I left my makeup bag at home ~ a women's worst nightmare! Myself & my husband quickly ran to Shopper's Drug Mart and was greeted by Kristina. The moment I explained what had happened Kristina totally could relate. She quickly gathered up some free facial samples along with helping me replace the makeup essentials a woman needs to prepare her for her night out! I can't say thank-you enough for helping a girl out of a desperate situation! Nice store in a nice area. right in the busy area of the famous Red Mile. (i think) Was on a work trip last year, and had forgotten most of my toiletries, of course, I'm a guy. Rosy here came to the rescue, gave me a few samples, and did end up buying hand cream, it was cold by then lol. open til midnite, better than some of the vancouver ones that close at 10pm. read more

Check out Mary Lou Coady at the Beauty Boutique in this Shoppers Drug Mart. She is what makes this yelper rereview this location at 5 stars. I needed last minute shopping ideas before my Christmas party on Christmas Eve, and we all know how busy stores can be. Well Mary Lou knows her store inside and out, she gave me 3 or 4 ideas for affordable gift items for the last members on my Christmas list plus the personalised service needed to feel like I was the only client in the store. She actually brought me down a couple of different aisels outside of the Beauty Boutique to show me some gift ideas which were on sale in places that I would have missed if I didn't know where to look. I got a great Clinique gift set for my cousin, which included a lotion, make-up removal, lippy, mascara, eyeshadow set and body wash for only $35. And not only that it came in this ubber classy white and silver bag which she could use to go shopping or even use at an elegant dinner date, it was that nice. @ShopprsDrugMart why can't you be much better and open on time? This morning I was in a rush to pick something up, I arrive 7:50am and realized they don't open till 8am. I patiently waited till about 8:05am when finally someone came to the door to unlock it. However, they only unlocked it to let some people out (possibly security or night restocking shift). When myself and two other customers who were waiting asked why they aren't open yet the lady said, "I don't know but I can't let you in because our pharmacist isn't here yet. I asked how much longer it would be and she said, "I don't know, it's usually not me who even opens the door." I wished she would have just said one minute and then found out for me rather than have us wait longer in the cold. Also, every time I've purchased something here there is a huge line. It's not even such a busy store, it's just that they always have at least one till out of commission. The only saving grace for this store (in my opinion) is the nice lady that works at the Canada Post Kiosk (which isn't even a Shopper's Drug Mart employee). A deceptively large drugstore along 17th Ave. Shopper's is the kind of drug store when you want to get food, passport photos, and a new camera to go along with your prescription. They've got a great selection of all your your bathroom and personal care needs. Great supply of drugstore level toothpaste, shampoo, soap and all that good stuff. It's clean and comfortable during the day but there can be some sketchy characters kicking around late at night. I've seen some guy run in, grab some headphones, book it around the store and run out with people chasing him. This is quite possibly my favourite store in Calgary. I visit at least once a week. They have a very large food selection, most of which is cheaper than Safeway. There are always great deals in the flyer for their food items. They usually offer Sunday and Monday specials on a variety of items, which are significantly cheaper than regular price. The staff is wonderful. One of the ladies knows me by name and we chat each time I'm at the checkout. The ladies in the beauty section always say hello when you come in the door. The pharmacy staff is very helpful as is the post office staff. Any questions I've had have been answered. I've never had a bad experience there. It is a great store. read more

I like their 50% less sodium Lays chips and their Hershey's whole almond chocolate bars. These chocolate bars have no palm oil. If you buy products with palm oil, you support wildlife habitat destruction. They have very simple ingredients as well. read more

I bought these stylize barrettes from shoppers drug mart. Even says shoppers drug mart on the back. They are horrible, don't even work. The product even says FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. But nope, they will not give me my money back. Unbelievable that the product even states money back, yet they won't. Such rude customer service too. This store is awful. Worst customer service ever. They try and force you to use the self checkout, and scowl when you want to go to an actual till. Today I stopped in to grab some things and went through the till after the gentleman tried to steer me to the self checkout. I forget his name but he was older and had the longest fingernails I've seen on a man. He was very abrupt and rude. I didn't appreciate his rude tone or lack of enthusiasm. read more

Shoppers Drug Mart, Cold Lake, AB Real BAD BAD service lately. Ordered our medication one day in advance the last four times. We arrived the following day to collect our meds and was told to come the next day!!! This happened four times in a row!!! Had my prescription transferred to another pharmacy. read more

The good: Great selection of food, well staffed for the Spend your Points weekend, loved the fact that you can park underground for free (for 90 min when you shop at Shoppers) and very helpful in the makeup/beauty section. The not so great: With it being a Spend your Points weekend, I went to spend my points. After standing in a long line-up I was turned away from one cashier since she could only take cash (ok, her machine went down so that's understandable), then walked up to another cashier who I thankfully asked if she would redeem points before I unloaded my cart (which was very full), she gave me a bored, don't you know any better, no smile look and said, "I can't take points, you have to go to her", points finger at cashier that is now helping the woman that was standing in line behind me. So I wait again, then go to the cashier that will redeem points. I have two coupons and when she tries to scan them from my printout, nothing happens. It didn't print super dark, but was very legible. The cashier calls another cashier to help. Now get this, the cashier narrows her eyes, looking at me like I committed a felon and says "Do you have any idea why this (emphatic pause as she points to the printout) won't scan?" They both look at me. My response, "..um, the print isn't dark enough for your scanner?" .. would there be another reason??? Nice way to treat a customer who is purchasing over $220 of merchandise (mind you most of it was on points, but I earned those points by shopping at the store over time). They then punched in the number on the printout (which they could read just fine) and it worked. Needless to say, customer service could use some improving. read more
