This is a small drug store that has been around for awhile. Staff are super friendly. It is not as busy as the ones in the plus 15. Their pharmacy area closes earlier than the store. So if you want to fill your prescription after work, this will not work. I came here looking for masks to bring back home because my mom requested. Unfortunately, they had none. The staff was very informative and told me to go try my luck at their competitor which is a few blocks down. Their service is definitely better than their competitor. They do have sales here and there. The store is basic but it is what you would expect to see at a pharmacy. read more

Sprague Drug is a tiny little pharmacy that I frequent quite often. It is right across the street from my office, so whenever life throws me a curveball (such as a new pair of shoes giving me blisters, or I have run out of bus passes, or I absolutely without question, need a diet Orange Crush, and it is 4 p.m.), it is easy and convenient to just pop across the street. It does not have the selection of pharmacy items like the big pharmacy's, such as Shoppers or Super Drug Market, but for a small store, I have never walked out empty handed, if I entered the store to solve any type of "pharmacy related problem", like the ones listed above. What I think is kinda cool about this little place is that they have a number of inexpensive gifts as well, such as $10 - $20 water fountains, and even some logo'ed hockey swag as two random examples. there are a few shelves of random, varied gifts. At Christmas, I bought my room mate a $4.99 sea monkey aquarium as a stocking stuffer. Let me just clarify that I am not cheap -- it WAS a stocking stuffer, and one that made her squeal with joy! Bad news folks... haven't seen sea monkeys in there for awhile for those of you in the market. however, again, a random example of what I saw when I was picking up my Diet Orange Crush. Katie C. isn't lying when she says that Sprague Drugs is a bare bones pharmacy/drug store. I have to admit, I was less than impressed when I had a look around. Yeah, it's kinda cool that it is attached to a cafe, but that just doesn't cut it for me considering there are a slew of cafes and drugstores in the area that aren't necessarily attached to one another, but they have a far more extensive selection. I'll be honest, the only reason I visited Sprague Drugs is because I was curious. Will I visit it again? It's highly unlikely considering one of my favourite downtown drugstores/pharmacies is located a 4 minute walk away. On a positive note though, Sprague Drugs is conveniently located right on the C-Train line, off of the 6th Street West station. read more

Sprague Drugs is a little bare bones for a pharmacy/drug store, in terms of toiletries etc. Maybe I'm just spoiled by some of the other drugs stores. But it is pretty unique in that half of it has been converted into a cafe. A cafe that sells coffee for (I believe, pre-coffee brain doesn't really process) 25 cents in the morning. I actually succumbed once, and it was alright. The cafe actually has a half-way decent selection. It's not my first stop shop, but it's a good place to hit up if you're looking for convenience. read more

I.D.A. - Sandstone Pharmacies Sprague - s - Drugstores Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

In most respects, this place is exactly what you'd expect from a third-string drugstore. The selection is very much the standard - no glaring omissions, but nothing staggering either. The one addition that seems like it WOULD be cool is a little attached area that functions as a cafe and ice cream shop - but of the handful of times I've been there, there's only been anybody working that station ONCE, so it's really no major improvement. The downside is the look of the place - I've been there a number of times over a period of about two years, but every time I go in it looks like they're renovating - boxes of stock sitting on the floor, shelf units that seem like they're being built or torn down, and there's almost always at least one staff member who seems to be running around looking for something they can't locate. This is the sort of experience that I could understand for a week or two... but YEARS? All in all, I've seen worse. MUCH worse. But when you're right in downtown anyway, and thus within a couple blocks of several other options, this place just doesn't give any real reason choose it over, say, Dominion Drugs which is basically across the street and a block to the east. read more

It is bare bones indeed, but good for a quick trip if you need tylenol, cough drops, bandaids, you know, stuff you might run out of at the office. HOWEVER, I find the staff to be less then friendly. There is a blonde girl who works there with lip rings who is just flat out ignorant, each and every time I go there. She will not acknowledge the customer with even a simple hello, no smile, no nothing. She acts as if you are greatly inconveniencing her. The only time she's ever spoken to me was to tell me my total. As a result of this ignorance, I no longer shop there, I now go to the little drug store across from crack corner/the Sandman, staff there are far friendlier. read more

This drug store is very convenient being in the west end of downtown right on 7&th Avenue. They carry a good selection of stock - not as varied as the big box drug stores. I really like their selection of cards plus their neat and different gifts that they have. love thge selection of the spring rubber boots! Also they will deliver your prescription to your office. read more
