I use natural fruits and spices for marinating I regret to inform you that not one legal employee all working there without papers. It's so obvious that they work there on borrowed time. One day I witnessed the illegal employees were serving a obvious gay man, and mocking him they actually came out around the counter jokingly holding hands and kissing each other and proclaimed they were gay too just to get a cheap thrill like clown idiots. It was a circus of ridiculeculous for the rich gay man simply went just simply purchase his order. It was a total mockery towards the innocent man. I'm praying that ICE POLICE soon hits the owner with a $10,000 fine for hiring green card visa employees. This is what happens when a store owner wants to save money and hired illegal clowns. They'll ruin your business so now I buy my meat in Brooklyn with no circle of green cards south American employees.

After being disappointed with the selection of meat at my local supermarket I decided to check them out. When I entered the store I was immediately impressed by how clean and well organized it is, and Dave's guitar selection adds to the homey eclectic ambiance. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and they'll accommodate customer preferences. After looking around I decided to purchase a rack of lamb, 2 pieces of wild salmon and cooked chicken fingers. Everything was top quality prime, fresh and scrumptious. And I was pleasantly surprised to see that Suburbia's prices are on par with local supermarkets for much better quality. You can't go wrong! Nuts & Bolts: Suburbia currently offers curbside pickup, delivery and in-store shopping with strict social distancing and a max of 3 customers allowed in at once. They're open 6 days/week (closed Wednesdays) at convenient hours with early opening times (7:30 as of this writing). There's parking on the street and a side lot. So happy to carry on the family tradition of shopping at Suburbia, a cool locally owned small business. I plan to be a regular going forward.

But the reason why Paul is my guy, is because despite all my wild requests, I have yet to ask him for something that he hasn't delivered on. Four pounds boneless short ribs cut into three inch chunks? He has it in the back. Rabbit, broken down into 8 pieces? Piece of cake. Ten pound leg of lamb, hip bone dislocated, femur rewrapped? Work of art. Thirty pound whole goat? He even tossed it over his shoulder and brought it to my car. Seventy pound pig? Of course. He's my guy.

I detected it only after I got home (not particularly nearby) - and I'm quite sure it was a mistake. The problem is, I called the store and the counter man did not treat me very well. I was ready to just have the credit card company fix the error, to save me the drive. - He denied that an overcharging was possible, and said that I have to drive back and show him. - He said that my idea of working with the credit card company 'wasn't going to happen' (what?) - Just rude- you know. Didn't work with me or offer any humility in advance. So...I drove back and proved my point. Got sort of an apology from one of his coworkers - but only for having to drive back in. No other consideration - a handshake would have been OK. Notes: The counter man remembered me as The Person Who Asked for an Itemized Receipt (Is this unusual?). Maybe my best advice is: Patronize these guys if you like but always ask for a receipt, and double check. **The woman who usually works there is absolutely lovely.

I told myself I was going to start bringing lunch to work. You know--be healthy, save money…read more.. maybe a nice yogurt. Right on cue, my coworker texts: "Where are we eating?" Well. That plan died instantly. We had just gone to Rocco's Steakhouse yesterday for steak... so naturally, we decided to go out for steak again. Because balance. Four of us rolled out like we had a reservation with destiny. We started strong: Grilled bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño. My coworkers loved it. I personally don't believe peanuts belong anywhere near my bacon, but I respected the chaos. Massive cocktail shrimp with three sauces--we split those like civilized people. Cobb salad, for health. Obviously. Then came: Dry-aged porterhouse meatballs with gorgonzola crema and black garlic. Good--but in my world, meatballs belong in a proper red sauce. I'm traditional like that. Main event: Bone-in dry-aged prime sirloin. Delicious. Tuscan-style, not drowning in butter. Ordered medium rare... received "this cow has a LinkedIn profile." Sides absolutely stole the show: The Quality Potato (elite) Gnocchi & cheese (life-changing) Brussels sprouts (so we can keep pretending we're making good choices) Dessert:Carrot cake ice cream slice + espresso. Because at this point, why stop? Service was amazing--our waitress and busboy were so engaging they even brought us extra cookies. I felt seen. The place itself is cozy, warm, a little industrial, and tucked below ground--like a delicious steak bunker. Anyway... I'll bring that yogurt tomorrow.Probably.

The exposed concrete, Edison bulbs, and high ceilings give it that downtown-meets-Midtown vibe that somehow still feels special, even after all these years. We ordered the tomahawk for the table, and honestly... it was a little smaller than I expected. Still perfectly cooked, just more "cute" than over-the-top. But the real stars: Definitely the bacon with jalapeño peanut butter jam so addictive, sweet and spicy all at once. I come back just for that. And the sides are everything. The mac & cheese is insanely creamy and comforting, while the Brussels sprouts are crispy, perfectly seasoned, and actually make vegetables feel fun. Overall, it's a steakhouse that gets it right, classic, chic, and reliable, but with just enough creativity to keep it interesting. Definitely a must-visit when you're in NYC and want a little luxe without feeling stuffy. I bring my parents here!
