I purchased four expensive trees from this nursery. Shortly after planting, one of the trees began showing signs of significant stress, while the other three - planted in the same area and under the same conditions - continued to thrive. I contacted the nursery for guidance and assistance but did not receive a response for more than two weeks. When they finally replied, I was told they do not guarantee their plants. No effort was made to inspect the tree, discuss possible solutions, or offer any accommodation. Instead, the response focused on suggesting that the issue was the result of something I had done. I understand that plants can be unpredictable and that not every issue is covered by a guarantee. However, I was disappointed by both the lack of responsiveness and the unwillingness to work with me toward a resolution. As a result, I will not be doing business with this nursery again. Based on my experience, customers should not expect much support once the sale has been completed. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! First time visit on 4-5-25. Spent about 30-45 minutes walking around looking at trees and shrubs. It wasn't too busy, maybe 20 customers all perusing the lot. Not once did an employee offer to help. One employee was not busy and actually walked in a circle around me then went over to help someone else thirty feet away. I then saw the same employee helping another person that just came in well after we did. Not a single employee greeted us. We were looking for specific items and had questions but were ignored. Although the inventory is quite good, we wound up going to another nursery in town and spent a few hundred dollars on shrubs and got amazing customer service. Looks like we won't be going back to Shooting Star Nursery ever again. First impressions are always lasting ones. read more

Service was stellar. I went in for 2 crepe myrtles and staff actual fetched several from the back of the lot for me to look at. I walk with a cane so this was a wonderful extra service I appreciated. I left with 2 gorgeous myrtles, 4 lavendar plants and 2 great pieces of garden art. None of which was an up-sale on their part. They will get more of my business. read more

I absolutely LOVE this nursery's selection! Not only that, but their employees are so helpful! I absolutely loved my experience here. They have a HUGE selection of Shade trees, fruit trees, herbs, flowers, you name it! It was like walking into Gardeners' paradise! Spring and summer is when they have the most options, obviously. I purchased 4 fruit trees from them with the guidance of a gentleman (really wish I could remember his name). I wanted fruit trees but had no idea where to even start lol Behold! His patience and ability to do a fastest course on fruit-bearing trees ever! Growing, pruning, pollination, all the needs & wants my trees could ever have! Even though I planted the poor trees mid-summer and really late in the season, they grew and took off like crazy! My favorite nursery in the Rogue Valley. I'm a plant addict and have been to almost all the garden centers in the area. Hands down, Shooting Star is the best. They have lots of native selections and are always getting fun new varieties. Also, the staff is very knowledgeable if you are planning your plantings and can help you choose what works best for your yard. read more

Shooting Star is hand's down the best nursery I have ever been to, so nice, so competent, so patient...no question feels dumb, the entire staff is accommodating and excellent. The stock is absolutely the best. And Christie the owner is magnificent at designing the yard for a quite reasonable cost. Cannot recommend more highly. read more

Great selection and friendly, helpful staff. Fair prices for quality fruit trees. Could you get them cheaper? Sure, but they wouldn't be as hearty and as well taken care of. We purchased 6 cherry trees and a few pomegranates. We will be returning! read more

Our favorite nursery by far! We have shopped here for years but always for a small load of plants. This time we had an entire backyard and side yard to landscape from scratch. We worked with Joey who went above and beyond to help me lay out our yard. He listened to what I was trying to accomplish and helped me figure out the best trees, shrubs, flowers and ground-covers for a very difficult sun/shade combination. His knowledge of plants was superb and his sketch and design ideas worked out perfectly. Since all of plants "live" outside they are already acclimated to our climate. The result is fabulous. We are so pleased with the end result. The prices are decent-not the cheapest but not nearly as expensive as some other nurseries in the area. The quality of the trees and plants was great-nice and healthy... I'll be submitting photos in the spring when you can better appreciate the way the yard looks!
