Pros: + in terms of a bar and grill style restaurants the food quality is really good. They definately embrae southwest flavor very well. Of all the food items I've had, I had not been disappointed. + Great ambience. A large venue, clean, and they have slots here. Even the mens room is well kept. Over the last two years they have taken great care of the place. A very large outdoor seating area and music stage suggests this place can hop on the weekends. + decent amount of parking. Despite lacking a private lot, the fact its on a corner makes up for most of it. + staff was very attentive. Not a lot of screwing around with them. + you can tell the locals and regulars love this place overall. Rightfully so Cons: - I really had to dig for true cons here. Don't underestimate food portions here. Most will be stuffed by departure. - Ummm.... yeah I don't do well with tall bar seating. With the exception of the outside.... most seating is tall. Can be a challenge for those with disability. And yes that front door was a pain to open :) Bottom line: Whiskey Barrel Saloon does better at the bar and grill thing than most in my own local scene. Food quality is high, place is clean, staff disciplined. What more can one ask for? Definately would be a regular if local. Mad Respect to Frankie for getting that door for me.

The building has no steps to enter the building, but you may need help opening the door if using an assistive device. The building was very clean and had many seating options with a large bar in the center and an outdoor area for when the weather is fitting. They have multiple tv's placed all around the building some showing sports others playing music videos. The music playing was a little loud to chat over the lunch hour however it is a bar. The server was friendly and even though she appeared to be stretched pretty thin she tried very hard to keep up. The menu is varied with many options including but not limited to sandwiches, burritos, appetizers, and many flavors of wings. The food we ordered was all very good and served hot and fresh in a timely manner. We ordered a couple of different flavors of wings which were saucy so it might have been a good thing had they provided wetnaps of some type. The chimichanga was so large I was unable to eat it all. The pulled pork sandwich was a large portion and came with a side. The onion rings were also a hit with all who tried them. The prices were good and it was easy to pay using the QR code on the receipt which I appreciated.

I was in town for a family reunion so I had to stop in. It was just as good as I remember. Chicken George with Jan's sauce is one of a kind. They offer several other options if you do not want chicken. The restaurant was so clean and the decor was very nice. However, I do wish it was a little brighter light in the restaurant but I guess they get the name Candlelight for a reason. Our waitress was AMAZING! We had a large party and she was so great at attending to all of us. I was so glad I got to stop in during my time in town and Chicken George will be something I dream about until my next visit.

They made it clear that they were just gonna use me and we're hoping that I would quit. What a sick culture. I'm really glad they close down. There is a love love, meanness That is out of control, rural backwoods little towns that has created Unhappy, miserable people I'd like to make himself feel superior by putting other people down. It's so infantile this company has no exception. Going to go to one of the gentleman managers when I brought it here I was always welcomed in the bar is really nice too. It's a nice atmosphere, and it's very pleasant to just have a meal alone or with a friend or with a big party. candlelight will accommodate you.

Wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I gave it a try. I had biscuits and gravy, American fries, and corn beef hash. Pros: + Biscuits and gravy were solid and it wasn't cheap on the gravy , sometimes places get a little cheap on the meat. It was satisfying. + The American Fries were pretty great after just a little salt. Cooked just the way I like it. + For a side of the road diner, this place was very well kept and clean on the inside. I could tell it was important to the staff. + Benny's is deceptive large with ample seating, and can handle larger groups with a back room. Parking lot was pretty big too. + Something about the atmosphere here. The staff and customers here were easily 90% on a first name basis on a Saturday morning. Very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Very old school. Cons: - Speaking of old school, NO credit or debit card use as of the date of this review. They post a sign for this right on the door. It isn't an issue for me personally, but it can be for potential diners in 2024. - The corned beef hash was a miss for me, but I don't know if it was the establishment or if I'm the problem. I've just been used to eating Hormel corned beef hash a specific way for 30 years, and maybe it wasn't what I expected. Regardless, while worth mentioning this does not factor in my review. Bottom Line: This would easily be a frequent stop if I was a local. Small diners like this are a dime a dozen in the United States. They all have very similar menus and ambience, but it is a question of execution that separates them. Typically the credit card thing would bump down to a 4, but I have a lot of respect for this place and atmosphere, so I side with the locals and go with the 5 stars.
