The folks that work at Shooters Choice are extremely professional and follow all safety and legal protocols. However, given their line of business, I find these qualities important. I've been to Shooters Choice three times in the past 2 weeks and each time I have received great service and I feel like I received excellent value for the prices I paid. Additionally, their selection of weapons and ammunition is top notch. I will definitely continue to take my firearms business to Shooters Choice in the future. read more

No military discount bummer, things are a little expensive here then psa range is nice just just a little over priced items

Great store, I have bought more than a few guns and accessories there. Only complaint is they, unlike the other Big gun stores in Columbia dont offer a Veteran, first responder discount. read more

Just wouldn't recommend. Doesn't allow handguns on the rifle range and you must fire your rifle sitting down with it sitting in a rifle clamp. accessories are decently priced but nothing you can't find anywhere else and not as much of options as PSA read more

I'm brand new to shooting and my colleague wanted to help me learn. We came here and had a fun practice session. Pretty popular spot and he enjoyed the selection in the store. The smells, the noise, and the feel were all new to me, but with some good coaching, I managed to hit the target. read more

Shooter's Choice - For the first time I did ok - Guns & Ammo Near Me - West Columbia, South Carolina

We had fun , decent stock, safes to buy but damn there indoor range was ungodly hot Needs a Fan or AC -

This was a new experience for me. The staff was friendly and could read my anxious expressions so they took their time to explain things and help me understand the process. They didn't lose their patience with my somewhat ignorant questions and even made me laugh which helped tremendously. It is hot in the back and there was water puddling in places. The ceiling was falling apart; the four star review reflects the much needed upgrades this place needs in the back. Overall though I enjoyed my experience here read more

Place is packed with everything you could imagine. Lots of people to wait on you if you go in but if you call to check on something don't expect to get too much help. Good atmosphere, prices seemed good also . read more

Shooters Choice is a great shop with LOTS of inventory and unique inventory as well. Staff thats always there if you need help. Lately though, I've been in and been astonished at the lack of actual knowledge of the staff, and now, as well the lack of ability to work on fire arms. They used to do everything and now that's just not the case. If you're new to shooting or just looking for basic help they're great but don't expect anything beyond that. The advanced shooting world is well beyond their abilities in there. Still better than PSA any day! read more

Their service and selection is amazing. After looking for a specific Lever Action rifle I was told by many other stores no way can't get it, special order, blah blah. Walked into Shooters choice and their selection was great. Saw exactly what I wanted in their well designed shop picked out the gun I wanted and was out the door with gun in hand under a half hour. Will definitely be back. read more

Came here to shoot and found nothing to dislike. Yes the range is a bit old, but it's all very straightforward and if you've been to a range before, you won't have any problems. If you haven't, it won't intimidate you because the range shop is laid out with targets for sale, hearing and eye pro for rent and sale, and a friendly employee to guide you through it. Inside the range, the booths just have a single switch to send the target hanger down and up range. The target hangers are an upside down T shape and use clothes pins to attach the targets. In my case I like to shoot index cards, so I had to get a single paper target and then the friendly employee offered me scotch tape to attach my index cards to the large target. No big deal. Pricing is very reasonable. They bill by the half hour. $8/ half hour. Large paper targets are $.99. The store is well lit and guns are laid out by type of firearm and brand. They also have a room off to the side full of gun safes and bags. Surprisingly large store with pretty much everything you need. read more

Very nice facility. Great customer service from the front desk members. The gentlemen (2 older men) working at the range/lane desk were very rude, and could use some better customer service skills. After experiencing the unpleasant attitudes at the shooting lane desk, I ultimately decided to just save my money instead and try another facility. It's not what you say but how you say it. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend this facility to shoot, only for purchasing what you need. read more

Had a great first time visit with the family, we will be back. Nice. And roomy, and nice counter staff people.

I really enjoyed my time here. They greeted me and treated me nicely. Even when customers interrupted them as they assisted me, they made sure they were aware they were with another customer. I was very pleased with the level of knowledge and willingness to give insight on the weapons. I shot the weapon prior to purchasing it. The range person acts just like military range control. Lol. I loved the experience and will be sure I come back by. read more

Helpfull employees when i was looking for a pistol knowledgeable and enthusiastic thank you

In my experience, the staff are excellent! There is a great selection of firearms, great pricing on ammo, and competitive pricing on all other things. Well worth the visit. I give them my business and I'm sure anyone else will enjoy the experience. read more

Great guys, great services, great place to be! The range had nice weapons for rental and I enjoyed it very much... appreciate you guys!

I just came in to window shop and was blown away by the customer service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in with a friendly smile and was assisted by a very kind employee. These people enjoy what they do and what they sell. I'll be sure to return. The shop is also clean. The pictures don't quite do it justice. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. Range has fudd rules. I buy nearly all of my guns from here.

Went in to check out their range and probably buy a new pistol. Got there about 1:45 and left for home at 3:30. The range said I used my lane for 1 hour 21 minutes (in that Hour and 45 minutes I was in the store). Now mind you, that gave me 24 minutes to decide on a new pistol, do the Form 4473 and check out. That is impossible. What I actually spent in the range was about 20 minutes to shoot 50 rounds. The RSO just smiled when he gave me the bill. I thought he was kidding until I went to check out. The counter guy's attitude was I was an idiot and the range guy was right. Oh and by the way, all this after I made a $1048 purchase. This is the last dollar I spend at Shooter's Choice and I will not be taking students there to purchase either. read more

Nice people and a great place to shoot . Way better that palmetto arms in prices at the range . I will be going back . Pew pew pew read more

Had a great experience in recently purchasing a firearm and some accessories. They've usually got some good deals going on, and the try before you buy program is AWESOME. I recommend this shop to anyone who asks for one stop place for pretty much whatever you'd need. read more

James was so amazing helping my husband pick out a gun. Thank you for all your help, you guys are amazing!

Living out of state I ordered a firearm that I had been searching for months for. Shipped quick and came as described.

Thank you, James! I'm somewhat new to this, but with James's help and knowledge, I've confidently made three very important purchases. Each time, I've walked away more than satisfied with my purchase and still am. One time I did not go with his recommendation (to save some money) and in the long run, it ended up costing more money and more time. This last time I simply told him what I was looking for and what my budget was. The result was impressive. Again, thank you James, and thank you Shooter's Choice for a place to go to get knowledgeable help and good products. One last thing about James, if you go see him ask him what the chief end of man is. He knows the answer to that question too. read more

You're better off being ignored at PSA than being talked down to by these gun snobs. Lie MILSURP, Makarovs, and lesser known brands that make a great product? How dare thee, thou lowly, wretched serf! Thou art beneath myne overpriceth Sig! Their prices for both guns and range time are obscenely inflated. I don't like their chickens**t range rules that appease pinko gun grabbers. read more

Place was super great and I probably would return but the kid behind the desk Nathan was a real prick and honestly ruined the whole mood. You might want to switch the person behind the desk that's greeting people who are coming to shoot for their first time. I don't need to be talked down to by some asshole who's barely in their twenties who thinks he's the shit. read more

Will not be buying anything from them again! Their staff is very rude! If the gun was for me I'd tell the guy who puts the orders in to shove it where the sun doesn't shine! I would love to talk to the owner of this store! read more

I really like Shooters Choice! I normally go there to get my rifle sighted in before hunting season or whatever I have a new scope put on a rifle. They also have a great selection of scope mounts for rifles and other accessories you might need. The range is basic but it's all that is needed to shoot or range a weapon. The folks who work there know their stuff. The business only hires people who do and you will find many former LEOs who are retired as employees. I've been a customer for many years now and I'm going there this morning. Give them your business. You will be happy you did. I asked about a new scope mount for an older.22 rifle I had brought with me today. They looked and found one. The guy removed the old scope, put the new one on, bore sighted it, and only charged me for the mount. Was this a big deal for him? Probably not but it saved me time and effort. Little things that make a big difference! read more

Great atmosphere and the employees have a wealth of knowledge. I also got my CWP from them at the cheapest price I could find around the metro-area. CWP class was awesome, they set you up for success. I also purchased a few accessories from them. One accessory I purchased was to extend my factory magazines to add more rounds. They helped me find what I needed and installed it as well, for free. ***My only probably with this Gun Store is, there is no air conditioning in actual in-door shooting range area. It's hot as hell in there in the summer time. In South Carolina it can get warm fast, and when you shooting a firearm trying to focus it will get hot even faster.*** I'll be back, but in the fall/winter time only! read more

We had a great experience at the gun range here. It was a bit warm in the building I heard fans running but it was still warm. The instructor was amazing he really took his time and guided us on everything we needed to know. This was an experience that we would never forgot. Yes we will be returning on Wednesday's for ladies day!! read more

Went with my mom today to buy a gun and she wanted to practice shooting first so went to the range and talked to Kelly and another guy who pretty much refused to let her shoot. She has some arthritis so wanted to make sure she was comfortable shooting this gun but she recently got her CWP and we've been to other shooting ranges in the last few months and no problem. They were very disrespectful and rude to her and disbelieving when she said she had her CWP and had experience shooting. It was very uncomfortable and they kept asking her questions as if she was an idiot. I finally told her we needed to leave-these guys need some lessons on how to treat customers and have a little respect for people in general. Very bad for business!! read more

I've been to this place several times and only one of those times was I pleased with the service. My issue with this place is, that if you have a shortage on popular items such as anything Glock, then you need to have a surplus of these items! 3 months is TOO long to wait for Glock 23 or 22 magazines to come in. I will not waste my time anymore, guess Palmetto State Armory or some other fun shop will get my business. read more
