Ambiance ? It's a chain buffet with our dates decor and could use a freshen up. The food was average Shoney's but the staff needs to pay better attention to the entree section of the Buffett. The chicken and potstickers were very dry. On a second round for more vegetables I found fresh chicken and it was palatable. Unfortunately since the dishes are pretty bland so being your own spices. In the Campbell County area there are only 3-4 options that are family friendly. This is by far the most family friendly choice of them all. The buffet is what they are most known for here. It stays pretty fresh and is monitored well. The regular dinner buffet is good but I love the breakfast buffet. For the price and what you can get you cannot beat it. Some favorites of mine: Apps: Spinach dip is good Salad: Salad bar off the buffet is good Dinner: Grilled Salmon is good, Double decker burger is very filling. I researched the Caryville, TN Shoneys (I live in Jacksboro) and the web site was very inviting so we went for supper. I did enjoy the 60's rock 'n' roll music blasting on the intercom but the food and especially the prices were a disappointment. When I pointed out to the waitress that their prices were much higher than their web site said they were, she agreed with me but was not receptive of my suggestion that someone should repair the difference on the web site. We will not be returning to this restaurant. It is not what it used to be. read more

Went here because the waffle house was really busy. They have a breakfast bar which we did not get due to COVID. We ordered off the menu for breakfast. Overall the meal was OK. Our server was very good and saw that we had everything we needed. On the downside the grits were too watery, they were out of biscuits, and my scrambled eggs were not completely cooked. My husband had pancakes eggs and home fries which he liked. Their menu is quite small in selections. I would say if you like buffets that would be your best bet read more

This place knocked my socks off! I'm not a huge steak person, but I ended up ordering the ribeye and it was sooooo good and tender! The baked potato was good and the hot fudge cake... holy moly! They really don't skimp on the fudge! And of course the bar was great. My waitress (Brooklyn) was very nice and made the whole experience very enjoyable. What can I say? It's a Shoney's. I haven't been in years because I remember it as a typical breakfast buffet. Dehydrated Hashbrowns reconstituted to perfection in a warming tray, eggs that were once powder or in a bag/box, canned gravy, once frozen biscuits and sausage patties, a few breaded items filled with apples, canned cheese sauce, and instant grits. It's fast, it's all you can eat, consistently mediocre, and all for around twelve bucks. The coffee wasn't bad and the service was fast and friendly. It is what it is. Let me start by saying I'm a Shoney's fan. This location is the worst I have visited. Apples and strawberries on the breakfast bar were still frozen. Waffles had been there for some time. Biscuits were cold, and that was from the fresh batch they just brought out. I didn't find anything on the bar that I would call fresh and few of the selections were actually warm. Why is tarter sauce and cocktail sauce out on the breakfast bar? I'm sure that will be fine for lunch in a few hours. Customer Service was great but that bar was horrid. read more

We were traveling on Labor Day and stopped for an early dinner. We were very surprised at the quality of the food in the buffet .The fried chicken was moist. All the food was hot. Even the fried shrimp was pretty good. For our just under $11 per person it was very good. read more

The most nastiest and filthiest restaurant I've ever been into and I've live in LA. We were sat at a dirty table that had spilled coffee and syrup. I had to request that the table be cleaned, then I had to ask for napkins to dry the table.The utensils had food debris left on them, The plates were dirty and wet. I began to imagine what the kitchen was like, being that it is out of site. Then I literally began to dry heave. Not to mention the sticky and bedded food all over the floor. If anybody eats there I hope their system is strong enough or has some kind of immunity because you'll need it. The State needs to casually visit this place. This review covers two different nights. On Saturday night my sister, wife, and myself went to this restaurant and had the best server. She was very professional and provided superb service. We had the buffet and had an enjoyable dinner. The next day my other sister arrived in the area so we thought Shoney's would again be a good place for dinner. There was a total of five of us and the server was the worse. Two of us ordered a regular tea and I ordered a raspberry tea. When she brought the drinks she stated she forgot which tea was the raspberry tea and recommended we all taste the tea to figure which was which! We then decided to get dessert and my wife decided to get the hot fudge sundae which was shown on the menu in a tall sundae glass. After waiting twenty minutes we got our desserts and wife got a bowl of melted ice cream in a bowl with a little bit of chocolate sauce on top. When I told our server that wasn't what we ordered she responded they didn't have any sundae glasses so that's how it was served. I suspect we just had a lazy server who was content to do the minimum. First server gets a 5+ rating. Second server the next night gets a .5 rating. read more
