I went to Shohreh for pain and ended up getting help with my IBS. I had spent thousands of dollars at a naturopath for it with no relief. Shohreh prescribed a probiotic that practically cured me. She is kind and gentle and brilliant. I can't tell you how grateful I am that I found her read more

I suffer from Lupus, migraines, cervical neck pain and joint pain. I have tried traditional medicines for years with only slight relief. A friend suggested acupuncture and I thought why not! I had a horrible first experience at another acupuncturist but didn't want to give up. I found Shohreh on Yelp and let me tell you she lives up to her reviews. She is a miracle worker! I had great results after just one session. She takes time before each session discussing the area(s) I am having issues with. Each time we have worked on a different area and every time it has helped alleviate pain. Also, Shohreh has a very calming presence, I think it helps with the acupuncture experience. I always walk out of a session feeling relaxed. If you are looking for an acupuncturist look no further Shohreh is your person! read more

This review is long overdue, but I highly recommend coming to Shohreh for fertility acupuncture. She is the kindest, more talented and skilled acupuncturist and she has helped me throughout my pregnancy. I believe my successful pregnancy was largely in part to her care - whenever I saw her I was extremely relaxed and I could feel the blood flowing warmly and my muscles definitely loosen, bringing much needed blood flow during my pregnancy. I looked forward to my weekly acupuncture sessions so much! She is very easy to talk to and will listen intently to all your concerns, and will wish you well with a warm hug after the session. Highly recommend seeing Shohreh if you can! read more

Shohreh is amazing! I was referred to her through my insurance company, and I cannot say how glad I am! I started acupuncture to treat muscle spasms in my back, shoulders and neck... after 2 medical specialists, 3 regular physicians, and physical therapy didn't help, Shohreh's treatment has brought these symptoms back to manageable. While stress and other factors still trigger flare ups, I am not suffering on a day to day basis like I was before. Additionally, you couldn't ask for a nicer person. She is so friendly, personable, and compassionate. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for a long time, say 21 weeks. Especially because it is very personal but i know some women maybe going through the same thing. As I sit here pregnant with my second child I really have Shohreh to thank. I am pro-acupuncture for fertility problems. Though trying the medical fertility assistance, experiencing a failed iui, the month I was on a break and simply with Shohreh is the month I conceived. My husband and I both loved her calming demeanor and sensitivity. She is a wonderful, thoughtful person and I will continue to see her throughout my pregnancy and then some. I think if you've had frustrations with fertility or general health issues, I'd try outside western medicine for eastern. It couldn't hurt. Shohreh is the best. read more

I referred to Shohreh Doustani (Acupuncture Center in Danville / San Ramon area) with two problems: a lingering pain in my wrist and a severe back pain that gave me so much pain that I could hardly walk. What struck me from the first visit was her demeanor and very kind and calming personality. I really enjoyed all the visits. I had been to a number of acupuncturist and I should say that this was the best experience I had. My wrist was healed after two treatment. I can now easily do push ups and pull ups. I cannot imagine that I was suffering for more than a year. My back needed about 6-8 sessions after which I could continue my routine functions of sporting activities and fast paced hiking. I have to say that I went to her after visiting my on doctors, taking x-rays and MRI, and taking a barrage of medications. I cannot thank Shohreh more for the wonderful support, treatment, and peace that I received throughout the treatment sessions at the Acupuncture Center. The office is very cozy and gives me a warm feeling every time I visit there. I highly recommend Shohreh Doustani. read more

Truly a wonderful towards greater health! Shohreh is an accomplished, professional, knowledgeable, kind and well rounded Acupuncturist (also highly skilled in Chinese & Herbal medicine, and Cupping)! The environment she has created in her office immediately puts one both at ease and feeling in very capable hands. I have been going to Shohreh for 7 years now... sometimes just for general body maintenance, but more often when I have a health issue that's persistently stubborn (usually back issues... and occasional stress related issues)... and I have always come away feeling immediately and longterm better for doing so! If you are looking for both an excellent health practitioner and a sincere kind-hearted professional, Shohreh is you doc!! read more

I first met Shohreh Doustani when she was a student at the Acupuncture and Integrated Medicine Clinic in Berkeley. Even then, she was gentle, calm and compassionate--and very, very skilled. I had an intense problem involving back and leg pain, pain that I had had for years--and Shohreh was able to provide me a measure of relief that no one else was able to do. I believe that Shohreh has found the thing that she has been called to do, and she does it very well. Thank you, Shohreh! read more

I have been going to Shohreh for years after she cured my daughter of very painful menstrual cycles age 15.( She was needle phobic I might add) I have been guided through menopause virtually symptom free. I wanted to review because when I speak to peers at this stage of life I realize how debilitating it can be. I have with her help blasted through ovarian cysts ( to the shock and surprise of monitoring doctors) and shrunk breast cysts also. Now I go only once a month for cycle tweaking and am so happy to be supported through this transition in life which can be such an upheaval. Apart from that she would be a go to for any emerging health problem. Shohreh is calm and efficient and one of the worlds gentle spirits, you will fall under her healing spell if you choose this therapy. read more

I have been going to Shohreh for a few years now. She is excellent at what she does and her skills are unique and she never disappoints. She always has her patients best interest, comfort, accuracy at diagnosing what the condition is to the best of her knowledge and expertise. If she arrives at an impassse and can no longer help she recommends that you see your MD for further diagnosis to see if there is something else wrong. She is definitely all for her patients good health and getting them back to feeling well and functioning. Shohreh makes you feel at ease and is a very calming person. Her office environment puts you in a calming mode which prepares you for your treatments. I am so lucky to have found her. read more

I highly recommend her. Ooh, and another great thing - she's covered by my insurance (United Health Care) - so my visits are only a $15 co pay. read more

This review is long overdue. My husband and I had tried for 3 years to have a second child. Didn't have any trouble with the first one. Who would have thought it would be so hard with the second. I was ready for infertility tests when my colleague told me to try acupuncture. She was having trouble due to her age. But that's how she was able to get pregnant with her daughter. So I gave it a shot. I started seeing Shohreh weekly. Not much happened in the first three of months so she started to prescribe all natural herbs. Three more months went by and we got a positive test result. I continued to go in and see her even afterwards every couple of weeks to make sure the pregnancy goes well and the baby is growing healthy. While, I'm in her office, I take the opportunity to unwind. Always served as a good nap time for me! She's a very pleasant lady and always very sweet and kind and professional. She listens to you and speaks in a very soothing voice . You know she cares when she asks about your well being. Once I was rushing to her office without breakfast after a busy morning with my daughter. Shohreh sent me off with her snacks of pistachios and blueberries just to make sure I have something in my stomach after my session with her. Our son is almost 2 years old now. He has brought so much joy into our lives thanks to Shohreh. I don't write a lot of reviews and it's been a while since I've last seen her but some people are worth the time. read more

To start off, this review is coming from someone who was extremely skeptical about having acupuncture done and whether or not it really worked. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant again after our last child was born still. After 7 months of trying a friend suggested I try acupuncture. I found Shohreh on Yelp and saw that she had very good reviews do we decided to give her a try and so very glad we did. Not only by God's grace and Shohreh's help ;-) did we get pregnant but had a healthy beautiful baby boy! She worked with us to become pregnant and throughout the entire pregnancy. Very professional and knowledgeable, gentle, and just easy to feel comfortable with. I can't say enough good things about her! If you're looking for acupuncture treatment, you've found your gal! I would and have recommended her to friends and family. read more

Shohreh was recommended to me by my OBGYN last year. I have been struggling for several years with amenorrea (loss of menstrual cycle) and I was fast loosing hope of becoming pregnant without some serious medical intervention. I wasn't sold on the idea of acupuncture but Shohreh's kind and empathetic demeanor made me feel comfortable right away. Several visits in, I started to look forward to the relaxing and quiet 45 minutes spent at her office. After several months of treatment and herbal supplements I'm happy to say that I am pregnant! I'm continuing to see Shohreh for the duration of my pregnancy. read more

I started seeing Shohreh a couple of years ago for chronic bursitis & sciatica that an orthopedic doctor & physical therapist were unable to cure and/or relieve the pain. I also was seeing a chiropractic doctor who recommended going to Shohreh for acupuncture to help with pain management. I had tried another acupuncturist and was not comfortable. From my initial visit with Shohreh, I felt very comfortable with her and her treatment space. She has a very kind, welcoming demeanor. After the initial treatments with quite a few visits over a month, I was able to feel relief. Since then, I have continued to see Shohreh to keep the bursitis & sciatica pain to a minimum and I have been able to continue to run. I also find that I now look forward to going and I continue to see her on a more preventative, rountine schedule (every 4-6 weeks). In addition to my initial pain, Shohreh has worked on relaxing my neck & back muscles. I don't like needles, but find acupuncture by Shohreh to be completely worth it. I am so relaxed during and after my sessions and enjoy the fact that I can continue to run and be healthy. To me Shohreh's acupuncture techniques are is better than the best massage. Lastly, Shohreh is very knowledgeable about proper stretching techniques to do to help keep me more flexible. I would recommend Shohreh to any one that wants to try accupuncture and also is interested in a more holistic health approach. read more

I am so glad my OBGYN recommended Shohreh! I had horrible swelling/carpal tunnel syndrome during my first pregnancy, and ended up going to her for acupuncture. I had never done acupuncture before, so I didn't know what to expect. What I found was that Shohreh was warm, kind, and professional. She put me at ease and I found myself looking forward to my sessions! My carpal tunnel pain went down significantly, and made the last month of that pregnancy so much easier. Fast forward a few years. We were gearing up to have another baby, and my OBGYN again recommended Shohreh if I wanted to try boosting my fertility. We hadn't been trying for very long, but I thought it was worth going...just in case. So back I went to Shohreh, and my experience was just as positive as before. After one month of sessions, I was pregnant! I don't know if it was the acupuncture or not, but I am glad I went to her and would recommend Shohreh to anyone pregnant or trying to become pregnant. Thank you Shohreh!! read more

I have been seeing Shoreh for several years for a variety of issues. I first saw her for sleep issues, I had been on sleeping medication for years and within a few treatments, I was able to sleep on my own. Shoreh is a very warm and caring person and that shows in her treatments as well. I have an old deep tissue injury in my back. From time to time, I have episodes of pain. Shoreh does her best to see me right away and within a few treatments, the pain is gone. I have tried Chiropractic, Massage, and had Physical Therapy and nothing works as well as treatments with Shoreh. At first, I was very nervous about accupuncture because I am a bit of needle phobic, but Shoreh put me at ease right away and I don't hardly feel the insertion at all. The cupping she does also helps to ease the pain. I find the treatments very beneficial. Would reccommend to anyone with chronic pain. read more

So after months of considering trying acupuncture for relief of migraines and skeptical of trying just any acupuncturist, I found Shohreh and decided to give it a try. Shohreh was GREAT!!! Very welcoming and relaxing from the initial visit and FINALLY I have relief from my migraines. Relief that I did not think was possible without a number pf prescriptions and side effects. In addition to the relief from migraines, Shohreh was great in providing me breathing techniques, stretching, hydrating and overall wellness that affects the cause of tension and migraines. After a few visits I found myself looking forward to future visits and the time spent relaxing during the treatment. Shohreh has a calming spirit that makes acupuncture and needles a breeze. Pain free for 4 months!!! Mid-winter I went to see Dr. Doustani for ankle problem that had been bothering me for close to two years. I'd had some relief with steroid injections, but they were temporary, and I didn't want to continue those as regular ongoing treatment. A colleague told me about Dr. Doustani and I went to see her in January. Dr. Doustani was clear with me about the treatment. She would know in 3 or 4 treatments if she would be able to help me, and if she was able to help me, it would take 6 to 8 treatments. I had 7 treatments from her the last one at the end of February. In addition to the acupuncture she also advised me on preventative measures hiking and walking in general to keep my ankle in good health. I waited to write a review because I wanted to make sure I stayed pain free. For close to two years I'd had to limit my hiking and walking to once every couple of weeks because the pain was so much. In the last four months I've been back to my regular pace of 3 or 4 walks / hikes a week. (My dog is much happier too.) This afternoon I completed a 2 hour hike in the Briones hills with a 20 lb backpack, a training hike for my first backpacking trip - 7 days in the Ansel Adams Wilderness! This trip would have been out of the question without Dr. Doustani's treatment. I have my life back, and more of it! Thank you Dr Doustanii! read more

I have recommended Shohreh several times after I went to her for serious back pain. I fractured my L4/L5 and when I first went, I told her I contemplated acupuncture versus chiropractic. She told me to go to the chiropractor first, if I wanted, then her. After she said this, I just felt like it wasn't just about money. I ended up staying with her after I didn't feel comfortable with chiropractic care. (too much yanking on my back.) I felt relieved after seeing her and my back returned to somewhat normal (not as intense of pain as I was having.) My friends went for different things (one for pregnancy, which she DID get pregnant!) And one for anxiety, and she's super happy too. Shohreh has a very calming voice and talks you through everything she's going to do. I highly recommend her! read more
