We got a family tattoo. My first so nervous but went smoothly. Would recommend. The girl upstairs wwas very accomadating.

Came in to see Molly (@eternalwhimsy on ig) for one of her flashes. The shop was really cool, I loved that all of the artists had their stations completely separate from each other. Molly sits in a loft area that overlooks the shop, which feels very throne-like. She was super sweet, made sure I was comfortable, even gave me an emotional support plushie just in case I needed it. We talked all about dogs, horses, chickens and then some. It was a great experience, I can't wait to go back to her. Parking is plentiful and next to the building, it looks like it's only for Bowhaus, but it isn't. read more

An incredible first experience. I got my first tattoo done at Shogun Tattoo, an experience that i wouldn't trade for the world. Aside from being a cleanly, stylish, and comfortable environment/studio, my tattoo artist, Nick, was as helpful, funny and placating as he is an incredibly talented artist. Me and my sister were at Shogun for around four hours, each of us getting tattoos from Nick, and the experience, though lengthy was well worth the wait. Hello I just want to start off by saying this is a very nice tattoo studio and the people working here are very friendly and welcoming but I just recently got a tattoo by the artist Krysta and the experience wasn't worth what I was charged. I was told by her assistant that I would get a mandala sleeve, my entire arm for 1800 and that was her day rate. When I arrived Krysta told me should we be able to do "half" the sleeve today. So I thought I would be charge half the price. I arrived at 1pm and didn't leave the studio until 2:30am the next day. Krysta was taking multiple breaks totaling to about 3-4 hours of not tattooing me. she was consistently going to the back and disappearing for 45 minutes to an hour at a time while I was laying shirtless on the tattoo table. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to come off as being rude or impatient. She would tattoo me for about 30 minutes and then leave again. Her daughter was present and I felt like I spent more time talking to her daughter than I actually spent being tattooed by Krysta. The tattoo itself wasn't very big nor complicated, being that I have almost my entire body covered and I'am aware of how long something of this nature and size should take. After she was finally done the first half that took 11 hours to complete, which it could have been completed in about 4-6 hours. She then proceed to ask me for the remaining balance of 1400, being I gave a 400 deposit earlier. I asked a Krysta "you said that you would only be able to do half the sleeve today, so why am I being charge for the full sleeve price that I was given earlier". Krysta immediatley got defensive and start yelling at me saying "Iam ungrateful and that I'am just like everyone one else that tries to get over on tattoo artist" saying "You must not think Iam worth it" and that "You people think I work for free" she proceed to say that "she stayed overtime to work on my tattoo" which isn't my fault since she wasn't present for majority of the day. I was completely taken a-back and confused and hurt that I was being screamed at, at 2:30am in the morning for asking a simple question, from what I was told earlier. It seemed as though she was trying to guilt trip me into thinking I did something wrong when in reality she only physically tattooed me for 6 hours and the other 5 hours I was entertaining her daughter and watching the entire season of Squad Games and Sexy beast and the tattoo was still not complete. I left with a half sleeve completed which took 11 hours to do but was only being tattooed for 6 of them. It seemed unfair and unjust as she was trying to spread the time out further so I would have to come back for a second session and pay her another 1800. I have talked to many other tattoo artist that I work with and they said that this piece could have been completed with in 4-6 hours. Overall, I left disappointed,1800 dollars less in my pockets, screamed at, my feelings were hurt and I still would have to come back to get it finished. I felt scammed and insulted and all I did was ask a question about what I was told I was going to get from this tattoo. I wish Krysta and her assistant was more transparent with their clients and it seems this happens to her a lot. I will not be returning to this artist because I feel like the time, energy and money will not be worth it for what I'am paying for. I'am happy with the tattoo and she does amazing work but not at the speed, price and energy it took and the attitude I received made it all not worth it. I take this as lesson learned. It has been a few days and my tattoo is infected, I've contacted the shop and artist with no reply. read more

Went here because a friend recommended it and am so glad I did. Molly was our tattoo artist (Eternalwhimsy is her IG) and she just did such an amazing job! I was very happy with the end result. She went with our ideas, respected our vision and made some changes of her own. In the end, my wife and I got stunning tattoos that are very similar but not exactly alike. I would definitely go back. All the artists were busy at the time, but he told me to return at 6 pm. When I arrived he had my artwork ready and 30 minutes later I was out the door! I came to LA to visit friends for a short vacation & wanted to get a tattoo to remember it by. We had brunch on a Sunday at a local spot a few minutes walk away & decided to walk in to see if they accepted walk ins (wasn't sure due to covid). They did & found out that the owner was from Buffalo, same as me, & was flying back home the same day I was flying to LA, & will be flying back to LA the same day I will be flying back home to Buffalo! Nick tattooed me & did such an excellent job, I wanted a touch up of a hand tattoo & another one in braille & he rocked both of them. My wife and I have been planning to get tattoos together since our 12 year old was in utero, but we could never seem to get it together in terms of finding the perfect design and artist for what we wanted. A friend referred us to Molly, and the second I saw her work on instagram I knew she was the perfect artist to carry out our vision. Molly came up with an amazing design that we're absolutely in love with! She made a suggestion to add a colored background to make the tattoo pop more, and it's one of my favorite parts of the tattoo! The tattoo process itself was awesome! This was my first tattoo (I might have forgotten to mention that before Molly started inking me!), and Molly made the three hour session breeze by. She was gentle, and super careful about getting all of details just right. The result really shows her skill and attention to detail. It feels odd for me to be writing this review, as I never, ever thought that I would be getting a tattoo. Especially alongside my daughter! Midlife crisis? Maybe. Mother-daughter bonding forever? Absolutely. We started talking about this experience shortly after my father died. I lost both of my parents within 6 months of one another. My parents brought so much to our family... whether it be peace, comfort, love, or support. My daughter and I talked about what the fondest memories were to remind us of this . It "boiled" down to a cup of warm chamomile tea, served with admiration and adoration. I turned to reviews on Yelp, only to find Shogun Tattoo as the most highly rated tattoo studio in our area. After inquiring with the owner through Yelp, he quickly answered my questions and asked my to come down to talk about our ideas. He took his time with me, wasn't bothered that our idea was small and simple, compared to the extraordinary works that he and his staff are capable of. I brought him a few drawings done by my husband, left a small deposit, and left him to incorparate my husband's idea along with Andrew's own. My daughter and I returned the following Saturday. ( His schedule was entierely booked, but he opened early for us as my daughter had to travel back up to college the next day)... thank you for that Andrew. He left us with his final drawing and gave us some time while he set up the room. His equipment is sterile, his rooms are private and clean, and his demeanor is perfect. He is calm and reassuring. No pressure. He could absolutely tell that I was nervous, as my humor becomes less funny than it already is, I can't stop chatting, and I expressed multiple times that I was a little worried. He said "you don't have to worry... sit back, relax... I'm the one that has all the pressure!" I went first. I knew my daughter would go through with it and I didn't want to chicken out. Seemed logical. Not gonna lie... the music in there got me a little nervous as it just isn't my taste... so thinking ahead, I brought head phones and some Ed Sheeran.. and all was well. He did a great job. The pain was minimal compared to what I expected. He gave me plenty of time to relax, always checked in with me to see if I was ok, and reassured me. My daughter's experience was exactly the same as mine. I have to say, we will have a lifelong memory of this day. I certainly don't need a tattoo to remember all the wonderful things about my parents, but sure am glad that we have it. Please Never go to Krista for any tattoos, I had the most negative tattoo experience ever! Her assistant and I agreed that my completed work would cost $800-$1000 for a mandala pattern w/dotted shading. My appointment was at 12:30 noon in which she wasn't there until 1:30-2pm. Once she started , she would take frequent breaks lasting from 15-35 min. From being occupied in the restroom to walking her dog . It took her 3-5 hours to stencil the pattern into my skin and to begin actually tattooing. She didn't start tattooing until about 7:00 pm in the evening. She would repeatedly stop for breaks after only tattooing for 20-30 min at a time. This gave me the impression that she was milking her time and would try to charge me more $. In which case , she did exactly that! She wanted to charge me $1800 for a full day session that wasn't agreed upon when setting up my appointment. I even showed her proof in my text what price we agreed upon. Instead of taking accountability and making it right , she got defensive and started raising her voice at me with an attitude. By this time it was 2am in the morning the next day. Her and the other Male tattoo artist there at the time tried to keep the doors locked until I payed $500 to her for unfinished work. I feel like they hustled me and were very unprofessional. This should have never happened to any customer anywhere. I wish for the owner of the establishment to take responsibility for the artist at his property and make things right. Pls Save yourself time,stress and $ and book with other artist there. P.s. When she died, i was super pissed at that statement, love cant conquer death -- death who literally stole her at an amazing time in her life. And yeah im still pissed. I just want my daughter back. My first tattoo experience was an enjoyable one. I can honestly say I had a great time. Andrew Moore was my artist and he did a tremendous job in my tattoo. Not only was the art good, but also his character was professional, friendly and easy to talk to. He's been at this game for over 20 years and his art work shows it.
