I saw the piercer remove the jewelry directly from the bag, and from my viewpoint, it did not appear that it was rinsed or sanitized in any way before being used If the business is certain that their sanitizing procedures were followed and are confident that the cameras would show this during both my friends & my jewelry change, we request that they share the footage with us. If the video clearly demonstrates that we are more than happy to take down or update our reviews. Lastly as of today my friend has a small bump on her nose at the site of the piercing which is why we felt it was impotent to speak up about our experience.

I hope this doesn't sound too, "Sales-Pitchy", but it's my honest review: From the moment I walked into the shop, everything just felt solid. Clean setup, zero ego, and the kind of focus you want from someone putting permanent art on your body. Adrian was locked in from the start. Professional, precise, and clearly someone who takes pride in his craft. The tattoo I got last night is easily the best work I've had done. The detail, the line work, the overall flow, was top tier. Adrian knows what he's doing and doesn't waste time proving it. He made sure everything was right before we started and stayed dialed in the whole session. No weird tension, no awkward moments, just a smooth, steady experience with a guy who's clearly mastered his lane. Even though Adrian was the one doing my piece, I took a minute to check out what the other artists were working on too. I'm so glad I came across this studio while searching for a shop that could do realism with a blend of anime. When I reached out, I was thrilled to receive such a positive reply to the style I wanted. I love how easy it was to book. I received a confirmation the day I made the appointment and a day before my appointment. The studio is conveniently located across from Pasadena Community College, which offers plenty of parking. Although it mentions one-hour parking, the attendant assured me it was fine to stay longer. The entrance to Grey Theory Studio is at the back, so after parking, just follow the signs that say "Tattoo"--they're arrows guiding you right to the entrance. Avoid the mistake I made of wandering around; if you miss the signs, just look up for a neon "Tattoo" sign on the second floor to help you out. The entrance door clearly displays the studio's name, so you won't miss it. The staff and artists were incredibly friendly, and I appreciated the time and care my artist, Adrian, took in customizing my design based on my preferences. read more

His work is the best I ever seen and will work with you to get your idea down exactly right. He doesn't cut corners or rush any appointment. Also has to be the chillest shop I ever been too. I've only been to.. 3 tattoo shops and this one is by far the best. But they were over a decade ago so sanitary standards have changed. The whole place is inside a cozy little home, converted into a designer place of business. I love it. Adorable. Jimi was there with his girlfriend, also adorable couple and very well mannered. Mine only had 3 colors, black, red and dots of white all in texts. Came out exactly like what I provided. Jimi has a very cool style, Japanese mixed with Chinese, but also versatile. Love his work on the wall. The response time on yelp is really fast. Either Jimi or Jude. And you'll get an appointment and seen as scheduled. If I had social media they'd be tagged. The piece I got from him was an Alolan Ninetales from Pokemon with red kitsune markings and a chrysanthemum flower. I was blown away by the design. It was very different from what I envisioned but not at all in a bad way at all. If anything I think what he came up was actually cooler, better and more unique than what I expected (and I already expected a lot seeing his work before since he is so good at what he does!) The piece took 2 sessions. Jimmy really takes his time to make the details of the piece look nice. Both times I flew from NorCal to SoCal and it was well worth it. He is also very light-handed so it was not very painful at all (only towards the end, since I'm not good at dealing with long sessions but that's a me-thing). I'm vegan and wanted to be consistent. So, I searched online and found James Spooner. I live in Bay Area and e-mailed James. He responded quickly to my e-mails and right off the bat I knew I picked the right artist because he was so nice and offered suggestions to help give me the best tattoo possible. He e-mailed me the design and it was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. During my appointment I was so nervous because it was my first tattoo, but James made me feel very comfortable. I really loved the way the tattoo turned out and have received compliments for it. I highly recommend James and this tattoo shop.

The vibe was so welcoming. All of the artists are friendly to clients and to each other. It's quiet and calm. Louie (Isabela's dog) made the visit so joyful. I've gotten 6 tattoos from her and I'm getting ready to do another. She's great at fine-line work and botanicals. I'm so pain-averse but she makes me feel so comfortable I barely notice it. (Okay, well.... let's say she makes it worth it). The Eagle Rock shop is bigger and it has a great vibe, though it's different. It's more difficult to find parking here, but if you don't mind walking a little, you always can. I love that the shop is woman-owned and queer/trans friendly. It feels like community. What else? The prices are totally reasonable, all of the artists are friendly, engaging, and talented. Highly recommend for the great work and the wonderful experience
