I ate here tonight and had hibachi which I always do. Everything was fresh, hot & tasty. I had the dinner combination chicken & shrimp with fried rice and extra fried rice because I did not want vegetables. The total was $41 with an unsweet iced tea. I only deducted a star because they threw out the tea before I could pay my bill. I had 1 refill of tea.

If you want someone to do something and they refuse, just Shogun and they'll do it. After all, this is America. Wait that's actually not cool. In parts of New York and Boston and the west coast this might get two stars because it's not cheap and it's not great, but this is Rosenberg Texas, and in a the town like Houston where there's not a lot of good sushi - if any - it's actually okay, so combining the good service with the decent product I have to give four stars.

As I entered I was greeted with a warm hello and seated immediately. You can sit at the large bar or to the left are booths and tables or to the right at teppanyaki tables (solid griddle cook surface). I opted for the teppanyaki tables. Not long after I was seated my server arrived for drink orders. She was very friendly and checked on the table often throughout the meal. Shortly after the drinks arrived she took lunch orders. Lunch prices are very reasonable and nice size portions. I ordered the lunch size teppanyaki scallops ($12.95) served with salad or soup, fried rice and grilled veggies (zucchini, carrots, broccoli and onions). I also ordered a Shaggy Dog Roll to go for dinner later that evening. It was amazing with Shrimp Tempura and Crab topped with Shogun's special sauce. The Chef's presentation was fun and entertaining. The Chef was very personable and interacted with the table. I always enjoy seeing first timers and children react to the knive skills, the egg roll, shrimp tails in the pocket and the always impressive onion volcano fire show. Our Chef was extremely talented and kept the table involved. My entire meal was wonderful, scallops cooked perfectly and way more food than I could finish. I needed a carryout box for the leftovers for dinner. Enjoyable show, great food, affordable lunch prices, good for groups and great service. Stop in for lunch or dinner.

I ordered three kinds of sashimi for $27 and I was expecting for $27 to be a lot more fish. Other places charge around $18-$19 for this amount of fish. The place is ridiculously charged and ridiculously expensive for the Quantity and quality of presentation.. Save your money and get sushi elsewhere

My first time picking up to go from shogun was a good experience. The sushi was great and I love how close it is to my house. I don't have to go into Houston to get decent sushi, I have it right here in town. The crab puffs were different but still good. The Miso and onion soup were great as well.

We don't typically eat the raw fish sushi/rolls (my family isn't into the taste in general), so we usually only get the cooked rolls. Even though it's AYCE, the rolls are top notch, and there are lots to choose from. Service is always quick and friendly - but sometimes the servers are hard to understand because it can get a little loud inside the restaurant. The price for AYCE lunch is great (selection is slightly different than for dinner), and the price for dinner is higher but still a great deal. If you're looking for a great sushi option and you want to try some options that you wouldn't try via a la carte, Sapporo is a great place to go.

First time here and didn't know they have lunch and dinner AYCE. They have a big menu. It took me a while to look through and decide. I went for the lunch AYCE (calculated the prices of the dishes that I wanted to try, and it made more sense to go for the AYCE), but only got a few dishes. Quality of the various sushi I ordered were ok, as expected from a AYCE. The slim raw fish slice covered a small portion of rice, which was good to not getting full fast. I had some rolls which weren't that good as I thought the sauces did not go well with the rolls. I was glad they were flexible to allow only myself to have the lunch AYCE, while my kids ordered from the regular menu. Their rule to me was I could not share my food with them. There was plenty of free parking.

From first going when we started dating and now 3 kids later, we have kept the tradition of going for her birthday. Main reason being she gets a free birthday meal, and while the deal has changed a couple times over the years, I believe you currently get a $50 credit. We've gone exclusively to the Sugar Land location, and it's been very consistent in service and the food is always on point. Something about that butter that they use in their fried rice just leaves you wanting more. The cooks and servers are always friendly and enthusiastic. And while the show has gotten repetitive for me personally, my kiddos truly enjoy the spectacle when they go. I will say though, this last visit, Elvis was our server and he was attentive, professional, thoughtful, and showed a quality of wanting to learn more about different things, including customers. A young man who works hard and shows a desire to achieve financial independence is downright awesome and inspiring. While I will say although the food is good every time, it is pretty expensive and so we don't regularly come here. And it does take time with the hibachi. But for special occasions, it is definitely a memorable time. **I'm not sure if it is just a birthday thing, but you can ask for them to take and print out a picture for you, which comes with a paper Benihana frame!

We were bummed when we were told this because it didn't say it didn't mention this anywhere on their website or in the restaurant. It felt like we were being discriminated... A family of 3 walked in and also wanted the hibachi lunch. We explained what the hostess stated to us and asked could we merge parties to become a party of 6. Thankfully, they were fine with us doing so! They sat us around 11:55am and we weren't served soup/salad until about 12:25pm. The hibachi then came out at 12:30pm exactly. The staff moved extremely slow. Our waitress wasn't very attentive. She didn't want to show us the sushi menu she said it wasn't available.... The actual hibachi meal was good. I got the chicken hibachi. It came with mushroom soup and miso salad for starters and then chicken, vegetables, noodles, and rice. One lady did have an onion allergy and the hibachi chef cross contaminated a few times. His cooking utensils touched the onions for the volcano part of the hibachi show and then proceeded to touch the rest of the food with the same utensils.... - So make sure to show up as a party of 4 if you want the hibachi lunch. - Don't come if you're in a rush, thankfully we didn't have plans that day. - If you have an allergy, just know there's cross contamination.

The teppanyaki show was fun, engaging, and very well done, and everything we tried tasted fresh and flavorful. The sushi was also surprisingly good. The complimentary soup that comes with the meal was pretty good as well and a nice way to start the dining experience. The hibachi itself was also very good, and the menu offers a wide variety of meats to choose from depending on what you're in the mood for. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of the service. Our server made us feel a bit rushed during the visit, which took away slightly from the overall experience.
