I bought my son a pair of Adidas wrestling mat shoes, and after only a few uses, they blew out on both sides of one shoe at his first competition. I contacted Adidas to file a warranty claim (they are still well within this period), and the process was nothing short of a nightmare. First, the representative told me on the phone I would simply need to upload photos of the damage and would receive a gift card in return right away. After several days, I got the email with the instructions, uploaded the photos, and then waited several days longer to hear back (and that email said it would take a few weeks to get the gift card so I also went ahead and purchased new shoes since he needs them now). What followed were 2 separate emails--one saying that my claim couldn't be processed manually and that I would need a "warehouse inspection" to process the claim, and the other providing a return shipping label. The problem was, by this time, I had already thrown away the shoes after receiving a replacement pair I purchased, as no one had mentioned I would need to physically return them for a refund until it was too late. The worst part of the experience was the customer service. I dealt with unprofessional reps who didn't seem to even understand their own policies (even at a managerial level). The "manager" told me that ALL warranty claims required a physical return for a refund, despite the email from Adidas (mine would need an inspection) AND their own policy Q&A posted on their website which states "if your item requires a physical inspection..." which also implies not all do. This lack of clarity and poor communication has left me frustrated and angry (and out a lot of money). Adidas clearly needs to improve their quality of products, warranty process and customer service. What should have been a simple exchange/refund process turned into a weeks-long ordeal full of confusion and contradictory information. At this point, I am done with Adidas and will not be recommending their products to anyone.

My latest pair and exchange were processed by this distribution center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I ordered a pair of TOUR360 XT shoes for $174.24 ($160 + $14.24 tax, free shipping). Four days after placing my order, I received an email from adidas letting me know they were "experiencing some delivery delays" and were doing their "best to ship it as quickly as possible." I received additional emails letting me know when the shoes had shipped and when they had been delivered. I appreciated the updates. I received the shoes eight days after placing my order. Not bad, considering it was free shipping and there was a delay. Unfortunately, the shoes were too small/tight, so I sent them back for a bigger pair. I received the bigger pair seven days after dropping off the smaller pair in the mail (free return shipping). Return shipping was via UPS Ground and deliveries were via FedEx. I love my TOUR360 XTs. Not only do they look great (one of the cart boys at Country Club of the South complimented me on them and said they looked "fresh"), they feel great too. Not gonna lie -- pros like Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele, who wear the exact same shoes on Tour, influenced my buying decision. However, also, before ordering the TOUR360 XTs, I gave other brands a try including Under Armour and SKECHERS. I ordered the SKECHERS GO GOLF Pro V.4 shoes, the same model worn by Matt Kuchar, but they just didn't feel right. Neither did the UA shoes. I really wanted to like them, but in the end, I went back to adidas. Whether it's a budget golf shoe like my previous pair, the Tech Response 4.0, or a high-end shoe like the TOUR360 XT, adidas has proven to me they make a solid and reliable golf shoes. A pair of TOUR360 XT shoes is regularly $200. I got lucky the day I bought them - adidas was running a limited-time-only offer of 20% off most items in the store so that's how I got them for $160 plus tax. I did notice a couple very small stains/marks on the bigger pair I received, but they didn't bother me enough to return them. The shoes are going to get dirty over time anyway.

Yes, at times customers are greater in number than cashiers...that is a universal problem. However I have found the staff friendlier than most stores. Courtesy on the part of a customer can make a big difference in a store clerks reaction, even when they just had a bad experience with previous customers. As far as the available merchandise, it's one of the best Marshalls stores I've visited. I no longer live in Spartanburg, so I'm shopping other locations. Several have far less than than this location. So when I visit Spartanburg and have time, I will make a stop at Marshall's. It is the thrill of the hunt, and I'm not often disappointed.

My sister and I stopped by this past Saturday and found some really nice stuff in the window display. Specifically a little Prada bag and a little coach wallet. I stepped inside and asked if we were allowed to purchase, which I was told the manager said they could not sell those items until Monday. Keep in mind, they are on display and they are all priced, but whatever. Then proceeded to go this morning, approximately 20 minutes after they open. Checking the window display and seeing the bag is NO LONGER THERE. I ask if I can purchase the items on display, when I am told that I cannot. That the woman that runs the window display (not the manager now!) will not be selling them until later this week, and she would be there tomorrow and I could come back if I wanted. I proceeded to remind her that she was the same girl I talked to on Saturday and that she told me I could come back to purchase them on Monday. I knew they had to be full of shit because anyone that has ever worked at thrift store knows that they want to rummage through everything before they sell it to the public, and I knew that's exactly what was happening. I then proceeded to get my mom to call and they tell her that we can purchase the clothing items, but not any products in the window display. At that point, it is not worth going back because it is now under poor management and people who can't be honest with you about the shit that they are selling. Do not display and price items and then try to say they aren't for sale!!! Then when I come back they're mysteriously gone??? ZERO STARS.
