Long story short I ended up calling the police to help me in this situation. I had not stollen anything and these women were cruel. Around February, I bought these boots because they looked great. Several months in, I get a scuff…read moremark on them. Much to my surprise, regular shoe polish nor boot cream could remove it. I had to go to a shoe repair place to learn that the goat leather of these boots and the way Cavenders colored them makes them easy to scuff and necessitates an actual leather dye or shoe spray to cover up. Per the shoe repair place, the dye used is not an oil-based dye but some other process where the dye does not penetrate into the leather. I will have to pay $50-$100 dollars to get them stripped of whatever is on them to put an oil-based dye on them and hopefully be able to put some type of treatment on them to guard against scuffing. When I contacted Cavenders to see what could be done to resolve this, they would only look at them to see if there was a manufacturer's defect. But, there isn't one because they know the process that they used to color these boots. While this boot looks great, scuffing is a huge problem that makes this purchase not good at all! And I hate because these were the first pair of new boots that I ever bought. It is a shame because initially the customer service at Cavender's was really great. But, now that I have a problem, I suddenly have problems. The website customer service could do nothing. When I asked for the corporate number to complain, I got a number with a system where you have to know the extension or the name of a specific person. I could never get to a live person to speak to. Whatever you do, don't buy this boot, even while it is on sale. It has been on sale since at least February when I bought mine. I am starting to think that they put it on sale because of problems that they have had with these boots.

After being followed around the store for the first 10 mins I tried to ignore the behavior and go try on the items I had picked out. While in the dressing room trying on about 7 or 8 items and changing I was repeatedly asked to give back the items that I did not want. I had not even made a decision-I was floored that in the middle of me trying on clothes-she wanted me to open the door and give her shirts/shorts back that I hadn't even made a decision about. I did not get to even finish trying on the clothes before giving up and putting my clothes back on. At no point did I feel welcomed or valued as a customer. She showed complete lack of respect for my privacy in the dressing room and basic courtesy. I am sure I am not the first person to be treated like this at this location but I do hope that I am the last. I went right next door to Banana Republic and had a wonderful experience. Please do not shop here -there are other locations that will treat their customers this way.

The first visit, I was assisted by an amazing rep that helped me with jean selection, and fitting; she was so helpful, patient, and kind. Fast forward month to today, I picked up the last pair of jeans I dropped off for alterations, and the rep was once again, nothing short of wonderful! I explained my jeans were probably long overdue to be picked up, but she went in back without hesitation, the rep reappeared with a smile and my jeans. I felt bad that it took me so long to get back to the store, but The Buckle treated me remarkably each visit. Now, here's the reason for four stars versus five. The jeans are very comfortable, but very trendy. I really need a "nice" pair of dark washed jeans, and The Buckle was unable to deliver.
