The staff is really great and will wrap or hold onto items for you for a better pick up time! All the items in the store are fair trade and that makes shopping here also make you feel good about helping families in countries you may never get to attend, thrive. There's quite a variety of items to choose from and you can even bring in your own for consignment. The only downside to that, in my opinion, is how picky they are with what they will and will not accept. That's ok though, the rest gets donated, so no harm done :) All of the staff members are very welcoming and helpful too. Worth the stop to shop :)

I love that there's still a bookstore in town. There used to be that amazing bookstore over in the…read moreLincoln Center mall, and we had Borders, but now this Borders has closed and turned into a Books a Million. Everything is laid out about-ish the same that Borders used to have it laid out. There's music and movies in the same spot, the children's area in the same spot, the coffee and seating in the same spot, and of course, the bathrooms haven't moved. Shopping here is nice. They have a ton of clearance, but that seems to be standard for a lot of bookstores. Prices are pretty standard for books (higher than online), but they also are lower than prices I've seen at Barnes & Noble, so that's a positive. It was easy to locate the area that I was looking for. There are large signs on top of shelves that let you know what type of books are on there. They have a pretty large biblical/Christian section which I found surprising. It's larger than quite a lot of the other sections, and I think it actually might be getting close to the size of some of the fiction sections. Over in the Transportation section, I found what I was looking for pretty easily. They even had a good selection. However, the books were not in order like they should have been. Books about airplanes were strewn throughout and between books about motorcycles, trains, and cars. They were in the right section (Transportation), but definitely not organized how they should have been. So if you're looking for a specific book, make sure you look through the whole section. There were quite a few Clearance books, and I came out with 5 books instead of the original 1 I was looking for. Most of their clearance is very reasonably priced at about 50% to 75% off the original price. The books are in decent shape too. I had a really fun time looking through clearance. Check-out was nice and simple. They asked me to sign up for their membership program which I declined. They also offered me to sign up for their "3 free magazines" deal, but none of that was particularly pushed on me. They were really friendly about it and didn't push when I said no. Staff was extremely friendly and I was greeted on multiple occasions. Didn't try out the coffee area or look through the Children's area. Final thoughts: I'd definitely come back. The prices are higher than what I could get online, but there's something to be said for in-store book stores. I love being able to buy a book locally and help support the local economy as well. Plus, looking through Clearance is easily one of my favorite aspects of bookstores. I came out with 5 new books at least than $40; that's definitely amazing for book prices. I'm glad Ames still has a local bookstore.

This is very high quality sports clothing for large university athletic teams. T. Galaxy did some nice custom work for fraternity apparel when I was in college and they did a nice job. My custom fraternity sweatshirts have held up very nicely over the years, but I paid close to $100 for it back in the mid-90s. I guess I've never determined if T. Galaxy emphasized ISU gear or customized orders. For ISU gear they have a limited selection and most of their items don't catch my eye, with the exception of the Tailgate apparel which to my knowledge is the only place in Ames it can be purchased in a retail environment.

But we normally go to a lot of pawnshops for loans when we were in Dubuque when we need extra cash. The new location they have now was owned by another pawnshop who we had a bad experience with. The day before our due date for our Loan on our Oculus we went into Express pawn to get it out. When we seen the oculus I immediately knew it wasn't ours. We were told an employee had given our oculus a week before to someone else that had an oculus in there as well mistaking ours for theirs when the names were completely different. They contacted the lady but who's going to bring it back or give it back if it had a lot of great games on there. The owner tried to give us used oculus when we paid over $600 for the oculus not including the games we had on there for only getting a loan for $150. I instantly let him know we weren't doing that and that we needed a new one or the money for it. He was kind enough to buy us a new one for the price we paid but it still was an inconvenience because the other oculus was connected to our info still and we have no way of getting it disconnected without the oculus itself. The reason for me telling this story is because ever since we started going to Ezpawn everything has been great. They work with you if you need a little extra time with making payments or need a little extra money. These past few weeks I've been sick on top of our job being closed during the school break so no money is really rolling in. Then this week payroll has had system problems with sending out payments. I expressed that to them because they had already been nice last week to give me a little time past my initial due date or final which ever is last and he understood and said I can come next week when I have it. When I say they deserve the up most respect and award for best customer service I mean that. They're also always so nice and friendly when we come in. Thank You to the whole Expawn team y'all have always been great help. This is how it should be
