I'm a truck driver. Been to a lot of kabab food and i can assure this is one of the best place to get your kabab! No lie! Mild spicy lamb was !!! Also the owner was so nice he forgot to give me the ground beef on my lamb and ground beef combo so he gave me another meal! The chicken was really good and the pita bread! Thank you! I will be coming back every time i visit Oregon!!!

My personal experience was awful. I ordered a philly cheese steak and it tasted very off and I had gotten food poisoning from it!

i had the most amazing experience here! the place is fully decorated in jordanian style interior…read more it's very interesting to see how they mix different colors and textures while still maintaining a balanced look. the place feels very homey and comforting. when we first walked in they let us pick between tradition seating and regular seating. i opted for traditional seating since i wanted to get the full experience. while deciding on what to order, i asked the staff what he recommended, and he became very excited. he was so happy to share his culture and explain the dishes to us. we shared the maqluba because it is a dish i have been interested in trying for a very long time. he did a handwash for us before the food came out. he also gave us some complimentary hot tea and even refilled it without us asking for it. his service was truly above and beyond. the maqluba was so delicious. the meat was super tender and fell apart so easily. the flavors were so deep and rich, i can tell they put a lot of care into the process of cooking. the sauce was slightly spicy which only added to the diversity of flavors. i can't put into words how good it was. we also got katayef for dessert, which had a crispy crust and came with vanilla ice cream. that was unlike anything i've had before. the contrast between the warmth of the pastry and the vanilla ice cream made such a good combination. our server even mentioned that he makes the dough himself! our server truly made this experience very special and heartwarming. i'm so happy he was able to share a part of his story with us.

The kebabs were juicy, the appetizers were rich and authentic, and the presentation was beautiful. The cocktails were also a highlight--well-balanced, creative, and really complemented the food. What made the experience even better was the customer service. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made sure everything was just right without being overwhelming. Definitely a place I'd come back to and highly recommend!

I recently stopped into Chef Agir for an early dinner, and it was a fantastic experience from a pedestrian's perspective. This spot first caught my eye because of the vibrant mural by Christa Grimm on the west wall, which was recently highlighted in a City Cast Portland newsletter. It is a wonderful visual landmark for anyone walking along NE 13th. Inside, the atmosphere is welcoming and the service is exceptionally attentive. I had a great conversation with the staff about the restaurant's growth since opening six months ago. While I usually view the city through a lens rather than a menu, the food was excellent and the space feels like a true community gem. Highly recommended for those exploring the neighborhood on foot.

Some of the food was similar to Indian food, like the rice and lentil dishes. My friends and I tried the falafel sandwich, tabouleh, mujadra, and lentil soup. Everything was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the falafel, which was not try at all, and the lentil soup, which was flavorful and perfect for a chilly day. The owner was super sweet, and he was happy to recommend dishes based on everybody's preferences / interests. Our food came out quickly because the restaurant was not very busy. My friends and I are already planning another trip here so we can try even more of their foods. I would recommend trying this restaurant with a large group of people so you can taste many different dishes!

For reference, middle eastern is one of my favorite cuisines, and this blew me away. Specifically, I think this was the best seasoning I've ever had on kabob meat, it was a flavor bomb. Good value too, normally I have to ask for extra meat from other restaurants, but I was full and satisfied from this plate! I also got the tabouli salad and it was very fresh.
