Sadly this place is not real close to my home, but I will be sure to stop in again the next time we go thru on our way to Shipshewana.

We always get biscuits and gravy everywhere we go and these are in our top 3 (1 is in NOLA , 2 is in KY). The breakfast scramble, biscuits and gravy, and French toast were amazing. It's unlikely our travels will ever put us back there but if you have the opportunity to stop you should.

My husband got the Ranch burger, I got the Italian Melt and we got an order of their cinnamon roll pancakes for dessert. My husband said that his burger was great, as was my sandwich. The Italian Melt normally comes with ham, sausage, and pepperoni on it, but they were out of pepperoni. I asked that the sandwich be made with corned beef in place of the pepperoni and I also asked that the sausage be left off. They gladly obliged and the sandwich was great, even if it was a bit messy from all the toppings. The cinnamon roll pancakes were amazing, as we were told they would be. They were HUGE (the order comes with two) and we still have not managed to eat the entire order...........I guess we'll be having the other pancake for dessert tomorrow too. What really impressed me though was the sign that met me as I went in the door to pick up my order. It let you know in no un-certain terms that a mask was required. There was also another sign, that I didn't get a picture of, that stated they would bring your order out to you if you were unable to wear a mask inside. X's were marked on the floor in six foot increments so that you knew where to stand in the event that a number of customers arrived at the same time to pick up their order. This business clearly cares about their customers and are doing all that they can do to keep them safe. We will be returning.

The indoor/ outdoor space blends together in the warmer months with cool hangout spaces and game areas. This place is truly a work of art. I can't wait to come back and try the bone bread next time, stew and scrumptious sounding salads. Today we had the kids smash burger, Brussels burger with frites and fried haddock and frites with a delicious coleslaw. The best part? Different sauces to choose to dip the fries in. The curry ketchup was the best (special shout out for *actually* cooking the curry into the ketchup) as it did not taste of raw curry. They definitely don't cut corners here. We noticed, and we appreciated it. We will be back.

She also whips up the custom, creative mimosa recipes, kudos to her for her awesomeness! I ordered the Shakshuka, flavorful, delicious, would order again. Even as a non-vegan, it was satisfying and would recommend to everyone. Husband had the 1964 Worlds Fair Waffle, and it was tiny. Not what you envision when you think of Belgian waffles. He also ordered the Belgian Forest Bacon, again VERY small portion, so much so that at the end of the meal, he had to order a side of the Smashed Maple Sausage. Both our drinks (I had the mimosa) were fantastic and worth ordering, loved the glassware! Aside from the small portions of waffle, bacon, and sausage, the cheerful vibes here are contagious, and I'd dine here again in a heartbeat!

The people working there are quite nice. There are a variety of fresh brewed coffees. I asked for the dark roast, which was actually a very tasty medium-bodied coffee. I judge this a triumph in Charlotte, where most people seem to prefer their coffee pretty bland. I also had a delicious bran muffin. I didn't try the expresso drinks. I chose River House Grill this trip since it was a beautiful night, and on the water. While getting off the interstate and heading in to town, I noticed this eerie presence, nothing was open, signs were dark, stop lights not working... I got to River House and a few regulars were still milling around the bar, I was told they were closed due to a power outage throughout the entire city. After some conversation, they said if I had cash, I could still buy a beer (always carry cash!). The regulars moved on, and I was finishing my drink when the power comes back on! The owner Mike had already sent most of his staff home, as the estimated power restoration was well beyond their normal operating hours, but he said he would turn the fryers back on, and start the pizza oven since I was there. I told him he didn't have to and I would head back to East Lansing, but he insisted, at this point I was the only one in the place! Ordered a pizza, and boy was it delish! By the time my pizza had arrived, a few others had managed to come in and fill up the place! Thanks to Mike, Jen (bartender) and the staff who stayed! I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu, and see the renovations next time I'm in the area! Cheers!
