A rushing water sound made by the many waterfalls into the narrow canyon. I've traveled so many places, but I was awestruck at the beauty of this place. It looks exotic and out of place in Texas. Still, it was wonderful. It should be open to the public and protected at the same time. To get to it, walk the length of the Blanco River from either the north or the south. Really truly do not pass over private property. They will catch you and at the very least you will get a really expensive fine and Class C misdemeanor. They don't mess around. No one owns the river as the Blanco is known as a perennial River and these types of rivers cannot be privately owned. So, take the river from public property and walk up or down it to reach the Narrows. Don't litter as the place is pristine and really don't jump from the cliffs. We tried to be as respectable to the place as possible and left it how we found it. Please do the same when you find it.

I have been twice and want to go a few more times in this life while I still can. The water is perfect and clean, the canyon walls are pristine, and the area is quiet. I went to find it on the advice of a beautiful woman and it was worth the cost of doing so. It is extremely hard to get to if you don't have access from the surrounding property owners, and a sheriff will find you on your way out. I actually favor this situation by it has preserved the narrows, even though 99.9999% of people will never see or even know this spot. Life is not fair. I got an expensive misdemeanor after the second time. But I also took the beautiful woman with me the second time, and money can't buy happiness.

The property itself is relatively small with just three picnic tables, two grills, some swings, and a modern public bathroom. There's a reasonable amount of shade here, but no covered picnic area and parking is where you can fit your car on the property since there is no lot. It is a peaceful spot, nestled amongst the residential homes in the area. This would be a good spot for a family picnic, but I'd recommend the Robin Hood park not far from here instead. The staff thoroughly explained how to operate the boat, anchor, and navigate the lake, which is why we chose to return for Fourth of July weekend. Unfortunately, the difference in service was night and day. At check-in, despite having reserved and paid months in advance, we were asked not only for our reservation confirmation but also for my fiancé's bank transaction to prove payment because of the marina's history of fraudulent reservations. As returning customers, being asked to provide our personal banking information to verify a reservation was both unnecessary and wildly unprofessional. Once on the lake, we had difficulty anchoring and called for assistance. We followed the instructions we were given, but the anchor detached completely from the rope. We returned to the marina and were charged for a replacement anchor. Later, when it was time to leave, the replacement anchor became stuck. Even after two nearby boaters swam over to help, we could not retrieve it. We called the marina again, asked for troubleshooting, and requested someone come assist us. We were told no. We had no choice but to return without the anchor and were charged for both anchors and a late fee--even though the delay resulted from equipment issues and the marina declined to assist us on the water. What disappointed me most wasn't the charges--it was the lack of customer service. As renters with limited boating experience, we relied on the marina's guidance and assistance when problems arose. Instead, we were left to figure it out ourselves and then billed for the outcome. I emailed management in an effort to resolve the matter privately before posting a review and never received a response. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Lakeway Marina and will be taking my business elsewhere.

All you have to do is choose your boat, select your day/time, complete registration, make a payment, and that's it-- you are good to go. Once you arrive to the marina, you can either park in the parking structure or in the private lot. Make sure to be as portable as possible, as it's quite a trek from the parking lot to the marina. You have to walk down steep stairs in order to arrive at your destination. For those with bad knees, you've been warned! Food and beverages are allowed (no glass), but I highly suggest trying to finish what you bring, as the journey down is always easier than going up.
