One thing to take note of on the property is one of the most enormous ancient Live Oaks you've ever seen. It is supposedly the second largest in the county, and there is a plaque dedicated to it. Much of the park runs along the creeks edge and that dead ends into the Blanco State Park, which requires an entrance permit. A rushing water sound made by the many waterfalls into the narrow canyon. I've traveled so many places, but I was awestruck at the beauty of this place. It looks exotic and out of place in Texas. Still, it was wonderful. It should be open to the public and protected at the same time. To get to it, walk the length of the Blanco River from either the north or the south. Really truly do not pass over private property. They will catch you and at the very least you will get a really expensive fine and Class C misdemeanor. They don't mess around. No one owns the river as the Blanco is known as a perennial River and these types of rivers cannot be privately owned. So, take the river from public property and walk up or down it to reach the Narrows. Don't litter as the place is pristine and really don't jump from the cliffs. We tried to be as respectable to the place as possible and left it how we found it. Please do the same when you find it.

I have been twice and want to go a few more times in this life while I still can. The water is perfect and clean, the canyon walls are pristine, and the area is quiet. I went to find it on the advice of a beautiful woman and it was worth the cost of doing so. It is extremely hard to get to if you don't have access from the surrounding property owners, and a sheriff will find you on your way out. I actually favor this situation by it has preserved the narrows, even though 99.9999% of people will never see or even know this spot. Life is not fair. I got an expensive misdemeanor after the second time. But I also took the beautiful woman with me the second time, and money can't buy happiness.

The staff thoroughly explained how to operate the boat, anchor, and navigate the lake, which is why we chose to return for Fourth of July weekend. Unfortunately, the difference in service was night and day. At check-in, despite having reserved and paid months in advance, we were asked not only for our reservation confirmation but also for my fiancé's bank transaction to prove payment because of the marina's history of fraudulent reservations. As returning customers, being asked to provide our personal banking information to verify a reservation was both unnecessary and wildly unprofessional. Once on the lake, we had difficulty anchoring and called for assistance. We followed the instructions we were given, but the anchor detached completely from the rope. We returned to the marina and were charged for a replacement anchor. Later, when it was time to leave, the replacement anchor became stuck. Even after two nearby boaters swam over to help, we could not retrieve it. We called the marina again, asked for troubleshooting, and requested someone come assist us. We were told no. We had no choice but to return without the anchor and were charged for both anchors and a late fee--even though the delay resulted from equipment issues and the marina declined to assist us on the water. What disappointed me most wasn't the charges--it was the lack of customer service. As renters with limited boating experience, we relied on the marina's guidance and assistance when problems arose. Instead, we were left to figure it out ourselves and then billed for the outcome. I emailed management in an effort to resolve the matter privately before posting a review and never received a response. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Lakeway Marina and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Travis P Trail Rides in Blanco, TX exceeded our expectations for a fun afternoon horse back. Travis himself is a hilarious and knowledgeable guide that takes great photos! I especially loved the little handmade leather satchels he provides for your belongings while you ride. I was also pleasantly surprised at the affordable rate ($40/pp for an hour ride). Not to mention the horses were all beautiful and clearly well taken care of. The experience was intimate as my family of three was the only group there at the time but I could see Travis P's being fun for larger groups and/or parties. I wish we lived locally so I could ride here all the time. Thanks for your hospitality, your infinite humor, and all of the memories Travis. They will not soon be forgotten.
