I said, "my knee is infected, don't I need an antibiotic "He said to leave it alone and he would see me in a year. My knee became more and more painful, so my daughter took me to the ER. The ER doctor said "you have a very serious infection." He started me on an IV of vancomycin. I had MRSA which had gotten so bad it was in my bone. I was admitted to the hospital. Dr P operated again, but the infection was still there. I was transferred to Dr Bell in the same practice. Dr Bell: specialized in knee and hip surgeries that had gone wrong. I underwent three more surgeries iand an additional hospital stay for blood transfusions as I had developed a bleeding ulcer because Dr. Picerno would not give me proper meds for pain, muscle spasms and stabbing joint pain. I was forced to take large doses of Advil. Dr Bell gave me meds for muscle spasms and nerve pain and Percocet for the pain in my knee. Because Dr. Picerno did not treat the infection when it first appeared, I almost lost my leg. I had a total of six hospital stays in one year which left me deeply in debt. I had to have expensive Cubicin IVs three times a day at home. It took one year to recover from MRSA. I am left with severe scar and a limp, loss of stamina and lifestyle.

I informed Dr. Graham that I did not feel the splint was fitting properly and asked for guidance regarding appropriate immobilization. I was told that the splint "looked fine." When I expressed continued concern, I was advised to purchase a brace from Amazon and to work on making a fist so that my hand would not become stiff. I was not provided with a specific recommendation regarding the type of brace that should be used, nor was I given detailed instructions regarding activity restrictions or warning signs to monitor. Most concerning, I was instructed to return in four months. I specifically asked whether the intended follow-up interval was four weeks, and I was informed that it was indeed four months. A four-month follow-up appointment was subsequently scheduled. As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the importance of preventing stiffness and promoting recovery. However, I left the appointment feeling dismissed and without clear guidance regarding the management of an acute fracture. My concerns were not adequately addressed, and I remain troubled by the absence of earlier follow-up or imaging to evaluate healing and alignment. I respectfully request that this encounter be reviewed and that I be provided with clarification regarding the rationale for the treatment plan and follow-up interval. I finally googled an orthopedic walk-in as we have them at home and I didn't want to get the flu or something else from a standard walk in. I called their number to see if the office close to me had walk in hours and they said no only Manderin office so they took my info to make a patient record for me and I drove over. Got there about 11:15 and they let me know Dr Brown was also seeing scheduled patients so it probably wouldn't be until 1 that I saw him. No problem I had expected a longer wait. They took X-rays right away and then someone did intake on me and back to the lobby I went to wait. About 1230 got called back to the room and he came in about 5 min later. He did some tests on my range of motion and suggested PT two times a week and to heat it and maybe take some Tylenol or Advil. If the pt doesn't improve the situation then they scheduled a follow up with a dr close to my place for 5 weeks out. Still waiting on the call to schedule PT about 15 hours later. Will update the review if I have any issues scheduling that!

I had overheard that he was running about 45 minutes behind from other patients who came in after me and that was really unacceptable. I'm not sure what happened during the day but when he did see me I didn't feel rushed. He took the time to listen to me and examine my thumb to see if there was something wrong with it. I was fitted with a brace, prescribed some NSAIDS, and have a follow-up appointment set for a few weeks away. I'm not sure that I want to come back to this location though. I'll see how my thumb does.

I started with Dr. Yurio and after a few sessions of physical therapy ordered an MRI. Turns out I completely tore my ACL and part of my meniscus. I was presented with my options and ultimately decided to have surgery to repair my injuries. I was transferred to Dr. Kaplan and he again presented me with my options. I decided to continue moving forward with the surgery. At no time was I pressured into having the surgery. For my lifestyle and health it made sense to move forward. Fast forward to surgery day - The surgery center is in the same building and is well maintained. I was introduced to several people who would be participating in the surgery and each one confirmed with me why I was there. It was clear patient care and safety was a top priority. Follow up appointments were a breeze. They email any paperwork required prior to the appt. And after check in the most I ever waited was 5 mins in the big waiting room or in the actual room. I saw either the PA and Surgeon during these appts. Both were professional and never made me feel rushed and felt comfortable asking questions. I was in and out in less than 30 mins from check in to check out. I had a positive experience from start to finish with this group of Dr.s and would recommend them. There are several Dr.s with different specialties available. I did see one of the foot Dr.s several years ago, can't recall his name, and did not have the same positive experience.

Anyways, we talk. I figure out I'll need to keep up with physical therapy. It's a sensible prognosis. I'm sad though because I feel as though I don't have the support I need. I have friends who are clients of JOI and they are being supported and taken care of with shots, plans, and check-ins every step of the way. They have returned to their tennis team while I have not. I had whiplash from an auto accident and could barely turn my head left or right and had headaches and a sharp pain. After a couple of months of treatments and adjustments my headaches are gone and have 95% range of motion back in my neck. I've had back problems off and on for years but the worst I ever had was a couple of months ago when I bent down and heard a loud pop-crack at the base of my spine! After 5 days my lower back pain was extreme and could barely get off of the floor to get to their office. On a scale of 1-10 ten being the worst pain it was a 10. It is now a 4 and we're working on getting it down to a 2 or less. Getting a firm mattress is extremely important and being under Dr. Schertell's care I was given a prescription to give to Rooms-To-Go who sold me the mattress that had a discount of no taxes! This was a substantial savings and the firm bed is helping my back a lot. I was shown some stretching exercises to do that are helpful and am getting treatments and adjustments weekly to help my quality of life. Also, a few years ago a couple of times the doctors got my lower back to pop back in place and guess what? No pain! After my adjustments I like to lie down on the Docs table that has a roller in the middle of the cushioned table and it goes up and down my spine. This helps a lot! Chiropractic works! Have you ever cracked your knuckles? That is all it is however the doctors know where and how to do it after your first visit when you pinpoint where the pain is and how intense it is. Give Orange Park Chiropractic Clinic a call or just drop in to look at the pamphlets and see the very friendly and professional staff at the front desk as you'll be glad you did. I have a chronic knee injury and the acupuncture treatments relieve the pain stiffness almost immediately. I also had some digestive issues which the acupuncture helped with as well. If you haven't tried acupuncture then you should! Dr. Keith Schertell is very personal and knows what he's doing. Melissa is a fantastic massage therapist and is truly gifted. The four star rating is due to a lack of technology in the front office. They need to use electronically records for their patients instead of filling out paperwork.

I tend to believe that they were on vacation, but, there is NO explanation for why someone didn't return my phone call to the general office. Clearly the entire office wasn't on vacation. I did finally get my money back. Refuse to pay if you have insurance. Tell them you will only pay after your carrier tells you what you owe.
