Lyerly is outstanding., and so I'm surprised about the bad reviews. If you check out other review…read morepages, they have a 5/5,out of hundreds of reviews. They deserve a 5.0 based on our experience at least. The basis for my opinion is set forth below. My spouse injured his back so badly he was in a wheelchair. The night before the surgery he could barely transfer from his chair to bed and was in horrible pain despite strong opioid pain medication. Dr. Shaw operated and he woke to no pain, and was able to easily transfer to his wheelchair to come home just a few hours after surgery! Dr. Shaw is not only the ultimate professional, but has an excellent bedside manner during surgery. While at the office he explained things very clearly he was clinical. But before surgery he exuded warmth and caring that was such a comfort. And when he met with me while Charlie was in recovery to explain how the procedure went, I was I rushed and all my questions addressed. He is truly an A++ surgeon. Within a week we put the wheelchair into the garage and he was walking with the assistance of a walker for stability as he rebuilt his leg muscles. Within two weeks he could walk without the walker. Best of all the pain did not return. Dr.Shaw and Lyerly gave us our life back. Special shout out to Cheryl and Heather who are amazing - and part of the team who put Charlie back together again!! Charlie's neurologist Dr Snyder at Baptist recommended Lyerly/Dr Shaw and his office placed the order/reached out for us. We were called promptly, and seen within a week. Surgery was promptly scheduled for less than a week later and we had his follow-up scheduled before we left the Hospital. We cannot recommend Dr. Shaw, his group and this practice more positively. If I could I'd give them a hundred stars!!!

I have requested an appointment with another Surgeon in the Lyerly group but Dr. Shah will not allow me to transfer my care. My experience with Dr. Camden B. Burns has been extremely disappointing…read more During my first visit, I waited for over an hour without any explanation, only to find out that he was not even in the office. No one called ahead of time to inform me, and no one updated me while I was sitting there waiting. It was a complete lack of respect for my time. On my second visit, things only got worse. Dr. Burns came across as arrogant, belligerent, and very disrespectful. Instead of feeling heard or cared for as a patient, I felt dismissed and spoken down to. His attitude was unprofessional and unacceptable. Patients deserve basic communication, respect, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

I have a back injury and I finally got my Dr Gall appointment- finally because I first saw a PA that specializes in knees and hips- hip pain. Hip pain was really back pain- Dr Gall specializes in spine. Also their scheduling department must suck- because my appointments would get scheduled and then within 24 hours I would get a text that my appointment was cancelled. This happened 3x! For this appointment I think his nurse called me to correct my appointment- I was scheduled in the wrong office! The irony is that I am waiting for insurance approval for the next step and as I am writing this I am thinking I should call- because who knows how prompt they will be in scheduling after obtaining approval.... sigh. My overall experience with this practice is 2 to 3 stars- but this location/staff/doc did deserve 4 stars- I will update if warranted.

He is not only the most skilled surgeon I've ever met, but he is also an amazingly nice guy! Most surgeons believe in keeping a certain emotional distance from their patients, but Dr Frykberg doesn't. Instead, he treats his patients like his own family and it is very obvious that he truly cares about those people that put their lives in his very skilled hands. Bottom line, Dr Brett Frykberg is the best surgeon I've ever known.

There was a shining star among some pretty bad parts of my total hip replacement. Dr. Brett Fykberg…read morewas that star. First he really impressed us in our original meeting. Super nice, friendly, and smart about his field and what he thought was best for me. We talked about me and what I do, did, and want to with this body that I have beaten slap to death. Then we talked about him where he came from (local kid) and where he studied and did his residency. He was born and raised here and did his residency in the big apple at the best joint replacement hospital in the country. He chose the this particular hip contraption cause of what I want an need to be able to do with my life and work. I will say that everyone in this office was very sweet and helpful. They know I was in pain went out of their way to make me and the wife comfortable. Never being operated on before I was nervous and scared. Doc I guess felt that and comforted me. I will say that the surgery and before and after included and very good doctors visit. He told me how my old hip was and it wasn't pretty but the new one was all bright and shiny. He even wrote Go Gators on the probe in my leg bone. JK but I feel he would have if I asked. I just returned from our post op visit and I got my first look at my new hardware. I do know it has only been 13 days since I took possession of this hip it is working better and better everyday. I know it is cause of Dr Frykberg's talent. I will also say that he learned today that his one guilt pleasure is Maple Street Biscuit Companies food so you know what I did? Yep the office had breakfast on me this morning and will every time I return. He was genuinely happy when I returned with biscuits for him and his side of the office. I would very highly recommend JOI and Dr. Frykberg for anyone needing hip or knee replacement after all he is that good.
