Drinks are all very reasonably priced and service is always top class. This pub really is fantastic and its so lucky that its off the beaten track of the town center otherwise it would surely always be heaving! The main downsides to the pub are lack of entertainment or a food menu, however this pub does what it says on the tin it serves great drinks in a great setting!

Obviously I can understand staff being stressed but I don't think it's fair for it to be taken out on the customers. Time has not been kind to the place opver the years though, and despite changing hqands several times over the last decade or so, it now seems to be a place which is just about surviving. People of my age (I'm 32) who grew up locally will pobably have fond memories of this place - in the old days it was always packed at weekends and did good business. Also in the old days, they sold very nice pub meals - the chicken chasseur here was fabulous. These days, theres nothing to distinguish it from any of the other places within walking distance. It still does business, mainly at weekends, but its nothing like it used to be and the feel of the place has changed so much, and not for the better. Beers - and occasional guest ales, wines, spirits, soft drinks on sale as you'd expect. Sadly, theres no more foodshame.

Prior to this event the pub was renowned with local gangs and voilence and many would not dare go in there that new of its reputation. I ventured in there once on a friends birthday night out to witness three separate incidents. To the beer! the beer on the whole was not all that bad! the range was pretty poor but the quality was decent! However, on the downside this pub can sometimes be slightly rougher in the clientele in tends to attract. There have been a few documented occasions where violence has broken out inside the pub. This however is a mere warning on my behalf as i have never experienced anything but a decent time in this pub, i would take it all with a pinch of salt personally!
