Appropriately enough, the pub is part of the station building at Worksop. The pub is the antithesis of a designer bar. The interior is basic, but small and cosy; the walls are covered with prints and other items evoking railways and the age of steam, and noticeboards listing the events of various local groups - motor-cycling, rambling, and CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale). The main attraction is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the well-kept rotating choice of real ales, often by less well known micro-breweries, and the wide selection of bottled foreign beers. Food is limited to traditional staples like cheese and onion or ham rolls, crisps and nuts. It was voted 'pub of the year' by the local CAMRA branch in 2003, and features in the Good Beer Guide. It's popular with locals, and hosts regular beer festivals with up to 16 beers.

We sat in lovely large, comfy sofas, and after buying the original round at the bar, we were waited on at the table. I'm not sure if that's just on quiz nights, but it made a lovely change. Prices were fairly average for this type of family/food pub, and I didn't eat but friends said that it's not bad at all. There's also a play area, but I didn't have the kids with me so didn't check that out - again I was told it's good. Handy as there's a small Tesco next door and a few take-aways so depending on how much you've had to drink, you can pick up a kebab and/or a pint of milk on the way home.

We both had starters prawn cocktails, however they didn't come with any sauce, but had a separate tiny little pot on the side of the plate (I love the sauce and is the only reason I ever have prawn cocktail so was rather disappointed). I had the sirloin steak and Cheryl had Fajita's. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare, but was a bit too rare for me, could have done with a bit longer. It was supposed to be 8oz however had about 4oz of fat on it :( Beer prices were good and they did server John Smiths. Atmosphere was drab, there wasn't any background music playing though and all you could hear was chav FM every time the kitchen door was flung open. Does have a beer garden that looked like it would be good in the sunshine & even a kids play area at the end of the building. Not somewhere I would rush back to, but the service was good (no one else in the pub though) and food was average for that kind of pub (could have been better). Not great value for money but wasn't a complete rip-off.

Makes for a lovely relaxing meal. Along with this they are now serving fantastic meals, specialising in traditional English cuisine they never fail to produce a great meal. My favorite being there bangers and mash with gorgeous onion gravy! Although the pub s never rammed it is often busy, especially for food!

The drinks are always served to an exceptional standard whether it be ale, lager or spirits. However, this pub is known for its ales and lagers in particular. Drinks are all very reasonably priced and service is always top class. This pub really is fantastic and its so lucky that its off the beaten track of the town center otherwise it would surely always be heaving! The main downsides to the pub are lack of entertainment or a food menu, however this pub does what it says on the tin it serves great drinks in a great setting!

The decor looks nice but very Wetherspoonsesque, as does the menu, in which Chicken Tikka Masala is listed as a classic. The staff were polite and friendly. We got 3 teas and a latte. The pub is renowned in the local area for its fantastic quality beers, well priced food and great service. Along with this they also have a weekly Pub Quiz Night, which you would have to call for details on! The pub has a separate room specifically for eating purposes where once again the service is never short of excellent! The beer is always of good quality however, they very rareley get guest ales or lagers in, which is a bit of a shame. The outside seating area is also not that great!
