Been here once, when a friend invited us along to 'help' them with the pub quiz, and I was quite…read moresurprised at just how nice it was. We sat in lovely large, comfy sofas, and after buying the original round at the bar, we were waited on at the table. I'm not sure if that's just on quiz nights, but it made a lovely change. Prices were fairly average for this type of family/food pub, and I didn't eat but friends said that it's not bad at all. There's also a play area, but I didn't have the kids with me so didn't check that out - again I was told it's good. Handy as there's a small Tesco next door and a few take-aways so depending on how much you've had to drink, you can pick up a kebab and/or a pint of milk on the way home.

Went for the first time (Wednesday night 03/08/2011)…read more (the bill came to over £20 for two of us). We both had starters prawn cocktails, however they didn't come with any sauce, but had a separate tiny little pot on the side of the plate (I love the sauce and is the only reason I ever have prawn cocktail so was rather disappointed). I had the sirloin steak and Cheryl had Fajita's. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare, but was a bit too rare for me, could have done with a bit longer. It was supposed to be 8oz however had about 4oz of fat on it :( Beer prices were good and they did server John Smiths. Atmosphere was drab, there wasn't any background music playing though and all you could hear was chav FM every time the kitchen door was flung open. Does have a beer garden that looked like it would be good in the sunshine & even a kids play area at the end of the building. Not somewhere I would rush back to, but the service was good (no one else in the pub though) and food was average for that kind of pub (could have been better). Not great value for money but wasn't a complete rip-off.
