Makes for a lovely relaxing meal. Along with this they are now serving fantastic meals, specialising in traditional English cuisine they never fail to produce a great meal. The drinks are always served to an exceptional standard whether it be ale, lager or spirits. However, this pub is known for its ales and lagers in particular. Drinks are all very reasonably priced and service is always top class. This pub really is fantastic and its so lucky that its off the beaten track of the town center otherwise it would surely always be heaving! The main downsides to the pub are lack of entertainment or a food menu, however this pub does what it says on the tin it serves great drinks in a great setting!

The decor looks nice but very Wetherspoonsesque, as does the menu, in which Chicken Tikka Masala is listed as a classic. The staff were polite and friendly. We got 3 teas and a latte. We sat in lovely large, comfy sofas, and after buying the original round at the bar, we were waited on at the table. I'm not sure if that's just on quiz nights, but it made a lovely change. Prices were fairly average for this type of family/food pub, and I didn't eat but friends said that it's not bad at all. There's also a play area, but I didn't have the kids with me so didn't check that out - again I was told it's good. Handy as there's a small Tesco next door and a few take-aways so depending on how much you've had to drink, you can pick up a kebab and/or a pint of milk on the way home.

It was supposed to be 8oz however had about 4oz of fat on it :( Beer prices were good and they did server John Smiths. Atmosphere was drab, there wasn't any background music playing though and all you could hear was chav FM every time the kitchen door was flung open. Does have a beer garden that looked like it would be good in the sunshine & even a kids play area at the end of the building. Not somewhere I would rush back to, but the service was good (no one else in the pub though) and food was average for that kind of pub (could have been better). Not great value for money but wasn't a complete rip-off.
