It wasn't okay. I went to park water many times and bit little so bored not really much a lot fun. And also not enough chair. Kids play park was so small but not really big.

I don't normally do this, esp when it makes me feel like a terrible parent, but i really feel it's necessary. So here goes... My husband (James) & I took the littles (2yo boy & 4yo girl) to a waterpark in Duncan, about 20 mins from Spartanburg. We both commented upon entering how we didn't see any adult employees & that everyone we saw looked like they were 16- at the oldest! The park basically catered towards younger kids. (I took a very brief video of it prior to our "incident"). In the kiddie area, there is a pirate ship. Kids climb 3 steps up and can slide down 2 slides. I suppose since parents are supposed to monitor their kids there isn't a lifeguard on duty (???) We noticed the pirate ship had some safety hazards, such as a chunk missing at the bottom of one slide, but since we are pretty vigilant & stayed close to the littles, we weren't too concerned. We enjoyed the park for almost 2 hours before finding out firsthand where the biggest issue lies. Though James and I were both not even 5 feet from my very stubborn 2yr old, and I was yelling at Quinn to stop running, he didn't. (Imagine- a toddler not listening?!). The end/ back of the ship was just above his knees, and I watched in horror as my son literally slid & flipped off the top of the pirate ship (feet over head) and landed in inches of water on his shoulders and back, scraping his head on the way down. I know I will see this scene playing on repeat in my nightmares in slow motion for a long time. I was close, but not close enough. And there wasn't a lifeguard in the kiddie area to help parents with monitoring (nor any signage). There also wasn't a safety net on the pirate ship. When I saw blood on his forehead (maybe 2 minutes after scooping him up and walking back to our chairs, I immediately headed up the first aid door. It was open. I walked in, holding a scared, hurt and crying 2yr old and found a small room in disarray with no attendant. Had I been able to locate the supplies I needed, I would have done so. Instead, I had to walk out to look for someone to help me. At the entrance, I found a teenaged girl playing on her phone. I interrupted her, saying that I needed first aid, but that no one was there. For the first time since arriving, I saw an actual adult (prob in her 60s). She walked us back to the room and said she'd be right back with someone to help us. Quinn was still crying and I was a worried mama. She returned with a young man (no way was he even 18, and that's being generous!). She said to him, "Javion, they need first aid and that's your responsibility." To me, she said, "I'll be right outside the door"... and walked out. Poor Javion was clueless. He had no idea what to do. He looked at us & asked what was wrong. I told him that my son flipped off the pirate ship & his head was bleeding. Javion looked at me blankly so I said, "I need an ice pack". He fished through some supplies and said he didn't have one. (Seriously?!) He told me to wait a minute and ran off. Another young man, one we saw lifeguarding in the lazy river, returned with a popsicle, telling me someone must have walked off with the icepack. He gave me a popsicle to hold on Quinn's head and wrote up an incident report. Javion did eventually return with an ice pack. I guess they found one somewhere. The one adult we saw checked on us once right after we left the first aid room. But it felt more like we were an afterthought. She asked if my son was ok & if I'd like a popsicle for my daughter too (once he calmed down, the kids ended up sharing the popsicle we were given to use on his head). We left once we got our stuff together. 3 days later and no one has bothered to check on us as a follow up. My son was very fortunate. He walked away with just scratches; he should have/could have sustained a much more severe injury. Yes, he was running (if what a 2yo does can be called that) & no, I don't blame the park for his decision to run & my inability to stop him in time. I do, however, want to spare others the possibility of this happening to someone else's child. They need netting & lifeguards in the kiddie area too. Having a more professional staff, no matter what age, is necessary. So is having proper first aid equipment and trained/ knowledgable staff to respond to situations. It will be a long, long while before we ever return.

This was so fun! For under 50$ my sister and I enjoyed almost the full day of swimming 10:30-4:30) two meals (entré, fries & drink) & funnel fries. The entry is 11$ for people over 42". We had a blast! This small pool & park has 2 slides (the open red one was fast and a blast!) super small kids and larger adults with alot of material bathing suits were getting stuck on the yellow and having to scoot down the last 15 feet, where it flattens out (they didn't seem to have a lot of water coming out on that one) but all the kids enjoyed it! There is a lifeguard at the bottom of each slide to ensure the kids get off the slide and out of that section safely! The lazy river was so nice! The kids from camps would get a little rowdy but the lifeguards were quick to make sure they stayed in their floats, didn't push and make it a wild river. The food was surprisingly food for a water park! However the wait was terrible- I'm talking order the food 30-45 minutes before you want to eat. They have lockers that are free, you just give them your license where&when you purchase your tickets and then they return it when you give back the lock and key, or you can do a 5$ deposit. Also, the lifeguards were all teenagers, I saw 1 adult in the pool area walking around putting the floats in the covered cabana section for them, 1 adult taking tickets and 1 adult doing the wrist bands when you enter. If you forget your sunblock or anything water related there is a booth set up outside the gates to purchase (heads up the prices are a little steep, but perfect if you forgot the sunblock and are in a pinch!) This was a blast and an awesome day trip to take the kids to if you need something fun, easy, and close to fill up the day!

It was wonderful having the whole place to our group since there were maybe 40 people alogether and apparently up to 600 people are maximum capacity. We had plenty of turns on the slides, time in the pool, and the concession window was operating as well. Yummy ice cream. There were a lot of lifeguards around to ensure safety; probably more than we needed. The kiddos had a blast. Who knew you could rent a waterpark? I hope we get to do this again! Happy yelping!

I love the establishment but I don't like that I had multiple staff members saying stuff to me when there were other people doing the same thing and don't get anything said to them. There are several…read morebeautiful spots to sit and relax, especially near the Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville, and the bridge is a wonderful place to stroll while enjoying the soothing sound of the river and waterfall. What makes it even more meaningful is the history behind it. Beginning in the late 1700s, water-powered industries clustered along the Reedy River, including trading posts, grist and corn mills, a sawmill, an ironworks, the Gower, Cox and Markley Coach Factory, a paper-making factory, and an armory. A century later, textile and apparel mills were established along its banks. Unfortunately, the mills discharged waste and excess dyes into the river, and the Reedy began to suffer from the spoils of progress. By the mid-20th century, downtown Greenville's stretch of the river was so severely polluted by upstream textile mills that the once pristine and popular falls became desolate and unsafe. Seeing how beautiful and vibrant the area is today makes you truly appreciate the restoration and revitalization efforts. It's peaceful, scenic, and rich with history -- definitely a must-visit when you're in Greenville. Cheers!

We ate lunch at the nearby Twisted Laurel, which was excellent. Things to know: Parking is not free. There are a couple of metered spaces nearby and there's a pay to park lot across the street. There are no bathrooms or changing rooms close by (that I could see). On their website it says there is a public bathroom, but I couldn't find it. There isn't a lot of shade except under the trees and on the amphitheater stage. These are really too far away to keep a good eye on a small child. Bring your sunscreen! There are no benches nearby to sit on, but there are concrete blocks so bring a towel for parents to sit on. It's a public fountain, so we were glad to have our water shoes. The fountain is advertised to have a lot of features and lights, but we didn't see any of that while we were there. The water shoots up out of the ground and doesn't change. That's enough for my preK kid, but might get boring for older ones. We brought some water toys and those were a big hit. While we were there a summer camp or daycare came through with 50 kids who were well-behaved, but they took over the amphitheater area and most of the fountain. We ended up leaving because it was just too crowded.

The adults bar is located inside Carolina Harbor, and it is called the Paul Metto 's Dockside bar. They do a strict I.D. check before getting a wrist band to enter the bar area. If you have to use the restroom, you do have to leave the Paul Metto bar, but the wrist band lets you back in without having to show your i.d. again.
