My wife needed to get some shots to her retina, and I was told this was the only place in Jackson…read more We called to make an appointment and told of our situation. The receptionist assured me to just come on in and they'll have everything taken care of. It took them two weeks before they would see us, because we had to contact our old doctor to send over paperwork to the office, AND they took their sweet time to "review" what we told them before we could meet with them. Additionally, we had to pay $250 just to see someone. On the day of the appointment, they balked at us seeing the doctor for about a little over two hours. They shoved tons of paperwork into my wife's hands WHILE SHE COULD NOT SEE! I ended up filling out the paperwork - which most of it seemed absolutely unnecessary. When we finally met with the doctor, we front-loaded with answers that most doctors would ask of my wife. He acted as if he totally forgot everything we said as he not only proceeded to ask the same questions that we already gave answers to (again, it our first rodeo), but then he passively scolded my wife about how she was managing her eyesight. He had the bedside manner (as well as the front office personnel) of someone who has had a bad day at work every day for 20 years. Zero compassion, whatsoever. If you find another retina place within an hour of Jackson, I strongly urge you to GO THERE. Avoid this place like the IRS on tax day!

The only negative is the appointment takes alot of time, the office is so busy. There are only 2 retina specialists in the area and they work at different locations part of the week. Best compliment I can think of to give is I trust them wholeheartedly with my vision! Oh yeah... do not wear any eye makeup!!

Went in October to schedule for cataract surgery. Cataract surgery in October. Charged $50 fee for…read morerefraction that insurance would not cover before we ever left the check out desk. Told to come back for follow up in December which we did . Asked to pay another $50 for a refraction. Wasn't given a prescription for glasses but told to come back again in March for a laser treatment. Why keep charging $50 for uncovered refraction . They do not tell you this before you have it done either. Just try to make next appointment and demanding $50. No wonder they have such a nice building. I suspect they do this repeatedly to every patient. Absurd!!

When I went in for my first visit for the removal of cataracts all of the test that was performed…read morewere not overseen by a physician, Staff members were the ones that made all the decisions on which lens would be placed in my eyes in surgery. Dr. Zogsby never checked behind these staff members. I assumed (my mistake) they knew what they were doing so I put my trust in these decisions. Before this surgery I never wore glasses but I was seeing through a slightly cloudy film that I was told was due to the cataracts. I approved of having the surgery because staff members told me I would have a new lease on life because I would not need distance eye ware which I didn't have to have anyway (but I may need readers which I was already using for up close work) Dr. Zogsby came in the examination room just to tell me he would be doing the surgery. On the day of surgery I was given a small amount of anesthesia and the procedure began. He talked about his son playing ball with the nurse the whole time (which was approximately 10 mins) He never addressed me other than when he was finished at which time he said "You did great" and walked out. When I went back for my checkup my vision was 20/20 but 2 weeks later it had deteriorated to 20/50. I was told it may take several weeks before my brain may accept the new lens. I took them at their word, so I scheduled the second eye for the same surgery. The second eye was much of the same outcome 20/35. I was struggling to see and couldn't drive due to this deterioration. When Dr. Zogsby said it may be a some other underlying condition that I have he tried to say I may have the beginnings of glaucoma at which time he gave me a eyedrop that was suppose to help with pressure on the optic nerve. These drops made my eyes blood shot and burned constantly. My opinion, is that the lens that was placed in my eyes were reversed and now after 7 months of this struggle I returned to my regular eye doctor and he told me I would need glasses that would somewhat correct my sight. He also said there was no sign of glaucoma and high pressure. He told me to stop the drops at which time the burning a redness disappeared. I think this clinic is relying on staff member's to do the doctor's job. Some of the doctors may have a great outcome but I would not recommend this clinic at all. You never know which doctor you will get. Please do your homework before letting anyone touch one of your most precious senses.

I have had to deal with mysterious symptoms and phantom pains for most of my life and as a result I…read morehave seen many doctors, suffered many needle pricks and have been through the gamut of trial meds to "see if this works". I've had doctors that exhausted every effort to pin down the cause of my problems and there have been doctors that see me briefly and walk away. I was even referred by one to see a mental health specialist to determine if it was "in my mind" not in a hypochondriac way, but keeping stress and such inside and it tearing me down. The Psych people determined that I have Sjogren's, but the meds to treat have side effects worse that the symptoms of the disease. I had a very bad experience one morning several years ago and as a result have become a patient of Dr. Edmondson. I arrived at work one morning feeling fine and just before the employee meeting I went to the bathroom to tinkle. I was washing my hands and for no reason got very weak and sick. I was in the bathroom for just over an hour vomiting, sweating, crying and freaking out a little. I dried off, cleaned up, put my shirt back on and returned to work as if nothing happened. I was white as a piece of paper, felt 10 lbs lighter and knew I would be seeing a doctor to determine why that happened. Tests couldn't find a reason, but that bout of distress resulted in me getting a hiatal hernia. That brings me to the office of Dr. Edmondson and his surgical skills to put me right. Dr. Edmondson falls into the small group of doctors that exhausts all efforts to help a patient. His bedside manner is always quite, attentive and concerned. I've been through many tests via Dr. Edmondson and as a result have had a couple laparoscopic procedures performed by him and one procedure has left me unable to vomit again. I think that is a good thing so far. Of course, I haven't had the need to test it out and hope I never do. Since my operations I will be required to see Dr. Edmondson yearly for an endoscopy peek of my stomach and esophagus to ensure all is still good. I still have issues cropping up but nothing that Dr. Edmondson isn't willing to talk to me about and work on. I always get emotional and cry when I do see him for my follow up because the symptoms I deal with in public settings are embarrassing and emotionally draining and telling them to him makes me cry. He is always sympathetic and quietly listens to me and I don't get the feeling of being rushed through. ****Update: 5-1-2015 he prescribed a powdered medicine for me to use when I have flare-ups of cramping and diarrhea while eating/shortly afterward. This has made a HUGE difference in my life!!! I can make it through a meal in public now! Anyone suffering these debilitating and embarrassing episodes should consult a doctor and ask for a prescription for CHOLESTYRAMINE. It is for cholesterol, but the side effect is beneficial to people suffering stomach and colon issues.
