I just moved in the area, and I was hoping to get lucky with the nearest Shipley's to be similar to the quality as I remember as a kid, when Mr. and Mrs. Shipley were living (RIP). I ordered a half dozen glazed, half dozen mixed, and a dozen kolaches. I was charged $30 for all of it and the lady boxed me up donuts and told me I didn't ask for kolaches. Proceeded to charge me an EXTRA $30 for kolaches again and give me attitude. I asked if they had ice coffee (they obviously did) and she said no... blatant lie again. Price gouging! My order for years has always been around $11. It recently shot up to $14. There's no other excuse for this then price gouging! If I'm going to pay $14 for that type of order, I'll go over to Heavenly Bakery. Put your prices back where they were. read more

I have never been to a Shipley's and been served old donuts until today. There is no way these donuts were made today. They tasted like 2 day old donuts. The bread on my kolache was also stale and the sausage was cold. This all tasted like I bought it two days ago, left in on my counter, then decided to eat it. No thank you. I will go to a different location from now on. The donut holes I got were also off. The shape was wrong too. They all looked shriveled up, and not very appetizing. The last time I tried to buy donuts from here, the drive through lady told me they were out of everything and this was at 10 am. Out of donuts at 10 am? I guess because they make them the day before and will not make any more if their old donuts sell out. If there is no other game in town, I guess you can get away with this crap. However, you need to realize there is a Shipley's in La Porte on 146 as well as one in League City on Main Street. Both locations are preferable to this one. Do yourself a favor, and go to a different location. If you like fresh donuts, it's worth the extra 5 minutes to get some good donuts. read more

YIKES! Looking at the previous reviews, it appears that the drive thru lady is damn near single handedly bringing this location down. Went in this morning (4/5/2017) to grab breakfast for the co-workers. The lady at the drive thru was screaming at the other workers asking them "what is wrong with you people", that in itself is terrible. However, the donuts and kolaches were equally as bad. The kolache was as little bread as possible stretched over a greasy sausage. The bread was hard, crunchy and grease soaked. I threw it away. The donuts were ice cold and the thinnest donuts I have EVER seen. Glaze was starting to coagulate of sorts, leading me to believe the donuts were just as old as the kolache. I definitely will not be back to this location. Everything about it was just bad. read more

Makes the entire Shipley's chain look bad. The drive-thru women are extremely rude but since it's the only one in my area I usually put up with it. They have messed up my order in the past but today was the final straw. I asked for half ham and cheese kolaches and half sausage and cheese. I was told the ham and cheese was on top, until I got home to discover I had half sausage and cheese and half sausage and cheese with jalapeños. I called up to the store where I spoke to the same cheery lady that was at the drive thru window. I told her what went wrong and her response was "uhhhh well you can come back up here if you want" wow. I know working at Shipley's isn't exactly the most trilling job in the world but you obviously applied to work there for a reason so you might as well do a half way decent job. I drove through and bought Sausage and Cheese Kolaches for my office and we discovered that they were not sausages, but hot dog wieners in the kolaches. Great donuts, horrible service. I was treated great by the cashier, she was a taller, young lady with a blonde ponytail. She was very polite and sweet. On the other hand, there was the drive true lady, who I'm pretty sure was the manager or owner because she was SCREAMING at her employees like a freakin' lunatic. She was screaming at them to "come on come on" SO LOUDLY (I understand they have to be quick but screaming at them is just making them nervous and making my time completely awful), it made it seem like she was screaming at the customers! It certainly made me flustered and uncomfortable. I felt like I needed to hurry up with my order because of her yelling. I felt so sorry for the employees who had to deal with her. She started screaming at them because one of them accidentally entered in something on my order which belonged to a different order, the employees were trying to explain themselves and she SHUSHED them very rudely. I said I would pay for the item she accidentally rung up because it was literally no big deal. And all this was happening RIGHT IN FRONT OF A LOBBY OF CUSTOMERS. So unprofessional. She was the RUDEST person I've ever seen. If I had to work for her I would walk out of there and see how her mean, rude, awful ass likes working a morning rush without an employee who is just trying to help and do their best.
