This was my first time at Shipley's Donuts the presentation was nice so I took a bite . To my shock the Donuts were ice cold I had never had cold Donuts before from a Donut shop. Tasting that cold donut took away from the enjoyment of the sweet taste of a warm or even room temp donut. read more

One fond memory is a snow storm in Little Rock and the only place near my hotel that opened was the Shipley's in Bryant, AR. So, I was delighted when a Shipley's opened in Cordova, TN. Today, I stopped in for a couple of Cinnamon Rolls and Twist. Each cinnamon roll and twist was larger than you find at outer donut shoppes and they tasted great too. I went through the drive-thru. After a few minutes without any help, I went inside. The guy took money from the customer before me and didn't change his gloves before he grabbed my food. He also kept touching his glasses while grabbing my food. Just unsanitary. Not a good first experience. Doubt I'll come back. Train your employees better. read more

Went through the drive through and picked up 2 dozen glazed and a ham and cheese kolache. Drive through moved fairly quickly. Glazed are $13 per dozen and the kolache is $3.25. Glazed were warm and delicious. The kolache is about the size of a hotdog bun with rolled up ham inside. American cheese. The bread is basically an un glazed donut shaped around the ham roll. I've heard of Shipley's for years from friends who have had them in other regions. So I was definitely pleased when I saw that a store had fully popped up in my neighborhood and I didn't even know the previous tenants left. I initially popped in the Saturday before their grand opening and the employees gave me 2 dozen donuts to try. That was totally unexpected and they were very friendly. The donuts were ok too. I later when back after they opened and I purchased a kolache and two cinnamon twists. Now those were great. The kolache was larger than versions I've had in town. The twists were very tasty. This is a great addition to the Cordova area. I look forward to returning. read more

This place is not for me. Apple fritter and no apples. Just awful. I had several other doughnuts and I did not like them.

I had never had Shipley donuts before this past week, but I made two stops at this location in the same week. First stop was on Thursday morning around 9 am, and the lady working was awesome! She was alone and was juggling the drive thru and walk-in customers both. The man in front of me had a very large order and I had to wait just a tad longer than I would have liked, but it was worth the wait. I had a cream cheese danish and it was excellent! Plenty of cream cheese!! Then on Saturday morning my husband and I happened to be in the area again and I had a total opposite experience. I ordered the two orders of the so-called beignets, and they were advertised as 4 for $2.00. I paid for my order, but on the way out the door I happened to look in one of the bags (which seemed extremely light), and was shocked to see what looked like donut holes! I walked back in and asked the girl was there a mistake because what I was given were definitely not like any beignets I'd ever had. I mentioned they looked like donut holes. She assured me they were beignets because "donut holes are glazed," and then proceeded to explain to me what a beignets was!! As you can see from the picture, they are barely bigger than a quarter. And to top it all off, they weren't even edible. They tasted stale, and it wasn't even 8:00 am! So basically I paid $0.50 a piece for some stale powdered donut holes. Don't waste your money. I'll just stick to my regular donut shop. read more

To my disappointment I was devastated when I tasted the donuts at this establishment. To my taste buds they were terrible, I wanted my money back. I have only went inside to grab a few do-nuts/pastries now and again but each time I go in the staff greets me kindly. I am always served promptly and the food is good. My favorite thing is probably the cheese danish--the perfect amount of sweet and salty. They could lose the tip jar, because unless I'm asking them to box 4 dozen, or more there is no tip coming. read more

Well I hate to be Debbie Downer here, but our two experiences at this Shipley's location were both disappointing. Our first visit was not long after their opening. We went through the drive through and ordered two Kolaches. Both seemed like they'd been made the day before. Not much flavor. We decided to give them another chance this morning and try their donuts. The multiple 5 star reviews gave us high hopes. People (or possibly AI) write about this place like it's heaven on earth. Sorry to rain on anyone's parade but we were again disappointed. We came at 7:30 AM thinking that the donuts would surely be fresh first thing in the morning. We ordered two donuts, a glazed and a buttermilk. Once again both tasted like they were leftover from yesterday, then they got the order wrong. I did not get a buttermilk donut, they gave me a blueberry. That's really not a huge deal, I like blueberry cake donuts but that's not the point. We ordered only two donuts, the lady correctly repeated my order and still they got it wrong. As a lifelong Memphian, Gibson's has set the donut bar pretty darn high and they are our favorite but we do visit other shops if we're not close to Gibson's. If I'm being honest I'd have to say that literally every other donut shop we've tried has had better quality food and none have ever gotten our two donut orders wrong. Even the sweet lady at Howard's for whom English is a second language gets our order right every time. This Shipley's location looks to be very clean and nice and the lady working the drive through window was super friendly both times we visited. I do wish them all the best but I think in the future we'll be jacking up our blood sugar elsewhere. read more

Pros- The service was good. The donuts were okay. Cons- The coffee was absolutely terrible and if you take anything from this review, do not get the coffee. I am not sure if the products they used were expired or if it was truly just that bad. I took two sips and still, an hour later, I feel sick. The kolaches were pretty disappointing. The cream cheese roll/donut pastry was also very disappointing and I would not recommend. read more

Excellent donuts. The right amount of sweet and fluffy. So light and tasty you could easily consume a whole box with no guilt.
