What a relief to stumble upon ShipCanada, and it's LTL service. We were moving from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic, and our jaws dropped when we researched our moving options, as the least expensive was $10K. Having had some minor experience with shipping, I was wondering if anyone offered a pallet rate, as that would bring the cost down significantly. ShipCanada was like manna from Heaven, as their quote to ship all our personal possessions was just 1/5 of lowest quote offered to us from the other shippers/movers. ShipCanada arranged everything within a day of contact, and our pallets were picked up on time, with the driver giving us a half-hour notification of his arrival. It took two weeks for our pallets to be shipped from the Sunshine Coast in BC, to the Atlantic Coast on PEI. Just one of our items sustained a small amount of damage (truly unavoidable when shipping in bulk over very large distances ), but having heard a few horror stories from others about all the damage that occurred to their possessions when they hired "professional" movers at 7.5 times the price, I was extremely pleased with our outcome. I'd like to address some of the statements made by the individuals who left low reviews. - Pack everything with Sod's Law in mind. - ShipCanada isn't a shipping company with a fleet of trucks; it's a shipping broker. - If you are shipping valuable items, have them insured beforehand. - Arrival and delivery times are approximations, but from our two experiences, the pick-up and delivery times were spot on. - As a small businessman who does a great deal of shipping/receiving, I can confirm that shipping items through any carrier entails risk. The more items sent, the larger the distance, and the higher the value of the items, equates to the acceptance of a monumental level of risk, and you can comfortably assume that something will go wrong with so many variables wildly beyond your control. From my experience, I was extremely pleased that all of our pallets arrived safely after a 5700km journey, that the task was accomplished with a minimum outlay of money, and that only one cabinet sustained a small amount of damage. read more

I got a year subscription with them. after 8 months it started acting up and not working correct. I contacted them to see what was up. they started blaming me for the problem all the sudden when it worked fairly well up until then. once I complained they canceled my service and stole the last 4 months of my subscri and laughed when I asked for a refund for those months. I booked my shipment of large items with ShipCanada and all seemed to go smooth until I got the Waybill. I followed their instructions, and once the day came for the third party to pick up my shipment, they never showed. I waited well after the window they gave me closed, and tried to call ShipCanada. The extension from the Customer Service Rep, the General Line and every other number I called all went to voicemail. The Rep never answered back my emails either. I finally contacted the third party who was physically shipping my items. They could not find any record of my shipment anywhere. All I had was a the tracking number which was of no use to anyone since no one picked it up. The third party set up a pickup for the following day. I guess we will see what happens. We paid ShipCanada $4,550 in advance to haul one of our 40-foot shipping containers from Loveland, Colorado to Edmonton, Alberta (as is their touted expertise). We were amazed at how fast and easy it was for them to arrange things in Colorado (and take our money). Yesterday, we hired the services of a 70-ton crane which costs a pretty penny to lift our container onto ShipCanada's truck. The crane had the container in the air by 3:45PM. ShipCanada had guaranteed the truck was in our service by 11AM that day and that the truck would be on site by 2:00PM. No Call. No Show. Container Dangling. Money Burning. Upon calling ShipCanada's front desk, I was told things like, "We do not guarantee shipments being on time"... "It's in our Terms & Conditions". I would have expected to hear, "OMG we're terribly sorry. We're at fault. We'll do what it takes.". I also found out that they are merely a broker with stunningly little power when things go sideways. Our sales agent had a bit better of an attitude about it. He was embarrassed about it going so poorly. But this morning, even he had the following to say, "There's another trucking firm who can ship the container, but they'll cost us like $1,000 more and I don't want to have to pick up that expense.". WOW! We're in damage control mode, with my company bleeding cash, and ShipCanada wants to save $1,000 as opposed to make it right. We'll see how this all pans out. There's still plenty of time for ShipCanada to put this right, save the day, and leave us a happy customer, but the hours are ticking by. If they are able to make things right and get us our container, as we paid for, then I'll happily revise this post to reflect great service. For now, we have serious doubts. read more

I was able to get setup with a broker at ShipCanada who gave me a range of rates so I could figure out my shipping costs as well as advised me on parcel and LTL shipping. The few shipments that I have sent out have gone smoothly. We had one minor delay with pick up which my broker kept me continuously updated on and sorted it out in a timely manner. We booked our shipment with ShipCanada to move our boxes from one province to another province. The day the boxes were to be picked up, no one showed up. We waited and waited. We called and were told they don't know what happened as they should have been picked up already. That was on a Friday, so we had to wait until Monday to pick up as they aren't open on the weekend. The problem was we would be on our way to our destination by then. Lucky for us we had a good family friend who said she would wait for them to pick up the boxes. Monday came no one showed to pick up the boxes. So our friend called and was told they would be picked up the following day (Tuesday). Finally, on Tuesday they were picked up.Didn't get our things until the following week. We received all the boxes except one box with our glassware arrived with glasseware broken, but most were missing! As well as some canned food was missing as well. We can't even get compensation, because our things were not insured (the agent we spoke to never mentioned anything about insurance). read more
