She was wearing cute little overalls, with perfect eyeliner and a little bandana in her high ponytail. The whole thing just looked like a movie. Some of the cupcake flavors are: Rocky Road, Strawberry Sweetheart, Tres Leches, Birthday Cake, Banana Cream Pie, Snickerdoodle, Red Velvet.... The frosting is stacked high and each cupcake is decorated so sweet. After my lunch (from Tako BBQ), I ordered 2 cupcakes. I could not decide which two to pick, so at the last second I went with the strawberry sweetheart and the rocky road. I take my first bite of the rocky road. The frosting is high so I have to open my mouth super wide in order to get the perfect bite. The frosting is not mega sweet (yay), but it is super soft and creamy. It is surrounded by marshmallows and slivers of nuts. The chocolate cake is super soft, and is absolutely not dry inside. Next I tried the strawberry one. It is white cake, with strawberry mousse inside topped with whipped cream and a homemade candy heart. The candy heart is a bit too sweet for me, but the whipped cream on top was yummy!!! The mousse inside was pink and very rich, but still, not incredibly sugary, it was delicious.

The odd part of the experience was that, when it was time to pay, after presenting their credit cards, customers were told, "You have the option of giving a 15% tip or a 20% tip." The cashier rang us up and told me the price which is hard to believe so I asked how much are these? and I was told they were $29.95 each, one we bought was not a two for $35 the other was but you had to buy two to get the special price of two for $35. The shelf tags only said two for $35 there was nothing on there that said you had to buy two. Because I couldn't disappoint the kids I bought the animals. I'm very disappointed in the practices of this company because it's pretty obvious they play on the emotions of the kids versus the parents to charge whatever price they really want. I can see why the stores are closing around the country.

But yesterdays visit made me think that i could come more often. Especially since my 6 year old son was so excited to get his build-a-bear. I gave him a budget because the little accessory items you would want to buy are not cheap. My son got a black bear for $16, plus the tmnt Michaelango mask & nun-chucks for another $16. So basically its like going to Disneyland for a toy. He also wanted a few more accessories but i told him to save his allowances so we can come back & buy them. Honestly the prices are not that bad, & no one is pressuring you to buy anything except your own kids. Its the experiences you are providing your children that are important. Your childs visit will usually go like this: you get to pick your special "bear", & then the stuffing ladies allow you to pick how soft you want the bear. & then you can help stuff the bear by stepping on a special peddle. You add the bears fabric heart, & they sew him up. You can wash, & brush the bear, play dress up, & make its very own "birth cerificate", where you would name your bear. The ladies working the stuffing machines are so nice, cheeeful, happy, and helpful. And the other staff were awesome. I was very impressed with their attitudes. And they gave me the information i needed during our visit. I also got on the email mailing list, & got a few coupons for next visit. They also offer birthday parties but i have never been to one or had one.
