Popped in for a quick bite to eat. They have cashew chicken which is a little less common than almond chicken. I typically like it better than almond so decided to give it a shot. I would say the food was decent. It was on par with other cashew chicken I have had. It loses one star for not being stellar. It loses the second star because when o went to pay, I realized they should have offered a soup. They didn't. I was already mentally prepared to leave so didn't mention it. But regardless they should know what their meals come with. With that aside, the water was average. Nothing to ding him or them on. But nothing stood out. Just a younger kid/man working. I ordered the General Tso dinner. Comes with a side of rice. Also got unsweet tea as they didn't have sweet tea. The General Tso had a great smell and looked decent. Taste was good and chicken seemed fresh. 6.5 out of 10. Fried rice (4.6 out of 10) was lacking in Flavor but blended well when poured over the General. This is the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I gave it two chances because I wanted to like it. The food is tasteless and the cheapest meat they can get. It's disgusting don't trust anyone that gave it a good rating they obviously don't care what they eat because they are from vinita. I ate here once a few years ago and I thought from what I recall was decent. I was wrong I went here because our Chinese restaurant has gone down hill in the recent year in Grove. I went in and said I wanted to order from the dinner menu and take home. Got 4 meals the general chicken, chicken lo mein, honey garlic chicken and beef with oyster sauce plus hot and sour soup and rangoons. The only thing half way decent was the garlic chicken. The soup was nasty no flavor what so ever how can you mess up hot and sour they found a way. The crab rangoons were not sweet at all very little cream cheese mostly wrapper. The general chicken I must say I have never had it taste like this one tasted. Horrible. The oyster beef mediocre at best. And same with the lo mein. And then the styrofoam they can in the filled mostly with rice instead of adding the meat and giving you a separate container of rice never seen that before so after wasting $59.00 Bucks I'll never go back. I'd give them no stars if possible. I like to support small businesses if they deserve it unfortunately this one does not. read more

The restaurant staff always take good care of us. We love shing kee food and have lunch/dinner from here at least a couple times a week.

We were staying in Big Cabin Saturday and my fiancé was in the mood for Chinese. We found this place. We were concerned that there were no recent reviews, but decided we'd give them a chance since past reviews were excellent and their last health department inspection was great. Big mistake. We called in an order for carry out and when we got there the restaurant was empty of patrons. It was around 7:30 on a Saturday night, so once again we were concerned. They were just finishing our order as I was paying, so at least it was fresh. Unfortunately that's was the only good part of our experience. On the drive back to the hotel we noticed it smelt like old grease and sour, and that's pretty much how everything tasted. We only took a few bites, most promptly spitted back out, before deciding to throw it all away and getting burgers at a fast food restaurant. read more

Lemon chicken delicious every time. Whether we eat there or in doors it's been a very good experience.

We stopped here for a quick dinner while in Vinita, and weren't disappointed at all. We were hoping for Chinese that wasn't from a buffet and tasted good. Shing Kee more than delivered. The woman who served us was very kind and efficient. Our party ordered bean curd with vegetables and lemon chicken with rice and both entrees were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I usually prefer lemon chicken that is a little more bitter & citrus with bits of rind in it, but somehow Shing Kee's sweeter, plainer lemon chicken was still excellent. This place is not fancy but it is clean and sufficiently nice, and it's very inexpensive. Considering the location I would rate it 5 stars easily and even in the larger town where I live and there are many Chinese restaurants, it would get a solid 4 stars from me. read more

This Chinese food is really good for the Midwest. I have eaten Chinese all over the United States driving truck and this take on the food is very delicious and pleasant to look at. The plum sauce for sweet and sour is much better than the over sweet red sauce normally saturating the typical sweet and sour. The crab Rangoon is just the right texture and spot on for taste. I have been eating at this business since 2002 and they have been consistent on quality and quantity over the years. read more
