This is your only Chinese food option in Grove, and it's a decent buffet. One time I went in, the card machine was down, so I waited forever. Then they finally just wrote my card info down. It's nice and clean inside, but I prefer to get a box to-go to avoid overeating. But my biggest complaint is they don't weigh your box like other buffets, so you have to pay full buffet price no matter what you get in your to-go box. $15 is still not bad for the variety you can get, but it makes you want to just dine in and eat more. They are one of the few restaurants open on Mondays, so I enjoyed my to-go box, but I won't go often. read more

Stopped by for Chinese food on Easter and couldn't be any happier. We were seated as soon as we walked in, drink orders taken and arrived before we were back from the buffet. Customer service was great, our waitress kept our table cleared of plates (because everyone had 2-3 each). Also, the buffet itself was clean and filling. So many different options to choose from. Sometimes the food is good, but when people give reviews about the owner being really mean I thought I could overlook it if the food was really good. It is really difficult to overlook something when this guy makes it a point to publicly humiliate people, especially plus size people. He figures if you're big you're going to eat up all his food so he tries to charge you double or triple the price which is totally illegal and then he screams at you in front of everybody when you don't want to pay exuberant price. If you list $12.95 as the price, Then that's what it should be. Not $26 because you're a big person. And then he screamed it in front of everybody and took my food away from me totally humiliating me. I recently moved here from Southern California, and imho Southern California has some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. That being said, this place doesn't meet that "standard" that I'm used to, but it isn't bad either. I've read all the negative responses first, before I tried it out for myself, and I was pleasantly surprised! I had the Orange Chicken - which was better than I was expecting, and I had the Teriyaki Chicken - which also tasted pretty good. The portions were generous and the food was hot! The owner jack complains if you get too little food so when I filled my to-go box this time, he was just nodding his head in disappointment but I got just enough. Personally I really like this place. A lot of people in town do not though. I like Jack, the owner. He has always been really nice to me and my family. I like the food about 90% of the time. This is the only Chinese food for 50+ miles in this area so that should tell you a lot about the quality. With no competition who cares about quality... right? It is a buffet so don't expect a high level of service. Most of the time you won't get a refill on your drink unless you ask for one. The food is mediocre on their good days and down right nasty on their bad days. The price of the buffet and a drink is about $10 before a tip which is kinda high for the quality of food and lack of service that you receive. The Food is pretty much the same you will get at any decent Chinese Buffet restaurant. I have been here probably 10 times. It always seems consistent and good. The owner guy always seems to be really hateful though, like there is some sort of dark passenger waiting to hurt everyone that makes more than 2 buffet trips. All in all, I put up with the dark passenger to get my Chinese buffet on. I think all Chinese food is the same, I have eaten at the fancy ones and all the buffets, and it's just Chinese food. I never expect too much from a buffet, so I'd say the quality is pretty typical. It does the job when I have a craving for Chinese, and the price is decent. My main complaint with this place is that the woman who I assume is one of the owners, is very rude. Granted, this is the only Chinese restaurant in Grove, so if you are craving American-style Chinese food, this is it! I will also say that I have eaten here before and it was better, but the night we went must have been an off night. Much of the food I got from the buffet was only luke-warm, with some items cold in the center. Children running around touching every serving handle on the buffet. I realize this is not the fault of the owners, but they could have stepped in. Everything tasted as expected, and I left the restaurant with the same amount of regret that I always have whenever I eat at the Chinese buffet. I am going to start off by saying, I have lived in Grove, for almost 28 years. And I have had better Asian food. Hu Hot Mongolian Grill in Owasso OK for example. (The food was cooked right in fromt of me.) How ever, being in this small city, I love East Buffet. Like I have read in other reviews, what can you expect from a Buffet? It is overall just ok. but if you are craving Asian, then it is good. I will admit, sometimes, my food hasn't been the warmest, but just wait about 10 to 20 minutes, and they will put out fresh food. I go here at least twice a month not for the buffet but I order the food I want and take it home. (usually around $40 bucks worth of food each time). Jack is very friendly and over the years of going here he knows me enough when I call. So I like that. I'm not from here so I've had my fair share of different chinese food from all over California and Colorado as well as Arkansas and Missouri. Though they do not have some dishes I am use to in different regions like Foiled wrapped Chicken and BBQ Pork (Char Su) Large Pot stickers. (theirs are smaller dumplings, still good) They come close in other area's like their Chicken Egg Foo Young, Their Pepper Chicken is good. Hot n Sour Soup, and Broccoli Chicken is good. I have eaten there several times, but refuse to go back due to the arrogance and disrespectful treatment by the owner upon picking up an order called in for take-out. Not once, but twice! First time... shame on you. Second time... shame on ME! The wait staff will provide your drink when you first sit down and clear your plates as you eat from the buffet, but never will any of them ask if everything is OK or do you need anything. They roam around speaking to each other in their native tongue while ignoring customers and only picking up empty plates and clearing tables. THEY'RE FIRED! I have eaten there many, many times and cannot identify with some of the negative commentary. Some times a dish may not be very warm but my favorite items are consistently good. Service has always been good as well. I do not like to have waiters hover over me. Writing this has made me hungry for East Buffet and I will probably eat there today. read more
