DJ Shindij (David) DJ'ed our wedding in June and surpassed our expectations by going above and beyond for our day. We'll start off with saying that guests obviously pay attention to the dancefloor more than any other responsibility a DJ might have. We have had MANY conversations with our wedding guests where they bring up the DJ saying things like "oh yeah and the DJ was amazing!" or "How did he just keep playing great song after great song!?" so that is OBVIOUSLY what you want to hear about from your guests afterwards as one of their favorite things because the dance floor is a big part of the fun! All that being said, we knew we made the right decision when we were able to have multiple meetings with him leading up to our wedding. He did a great job in those meetings leading us in a way we were comfortable when we did not have all the answers for how we wanted our wedding day to go. It was clear he's done this hundreds of times, so he guided us through our decisions where we needed them on things we didn't even think about like what music to play during reception and dinner. On the day of the wedding, we were blown away. My wife and I just didn't realize leading up how big of a role the DJ may play in our wedding (outside of the dancefoor). David did a great job with all of his announcements for dances and speeches and of course for all the ceremony music as well. As for when it came to dancing from the bride and groom point of view: it was expected that he would get to all of the songs we listed as "must plays" but we obviously were not sure how he would mix around those. He absolutely killed it! He did an amazing job keeping people on the dance floor and playing other songs that people loved to hear that fit in with our provided set list! He was incredibly professional, while at the same time he clearly was enjoying himself and took pride in making our experience the best it could be. David from Shindig DJs was amazing and exactly what we were looking for in a DJ! He was super responsive and easy to work with! I had a last-minute change to the length of our first dance and he was accommodated that no problem. He was also super organized: his website was so helpful in establishing the flow of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, which was so nice since I was planning everything myself and didn't know what I was doing. When we met to discuss our final playlist, he had everything printed out, answered my many questions, and offered suggestions for how we could make everything seamless but also end the party with a hype song. David was super prepared and obviously knew what he was doing, so I felt so comfortable and knew we were in good hands! He also was fun! He was professional but also you can tell he loves what he does, and it translated onto our dance floor, which was super important to me (dancing is my favorite part of wedding receptions). We recently had our wedding on April 20th 2024. We used Shindig Djs and had the opportunity to have David himself as our DJ. Let me tell you David did not disappoint. The dance floor was electric the entire evening that we had him up until the very end! Our venue was in the mountains just outside of Idaho springs. The drive to get to the is quite the trek and of course it was snowing. We never heard any issues from David on making it to the venue. When we arrived David was already set up and the venue was completely decked out in lighting and to make the atmosphere even more immersive. During the ceremony there were absolutely no issues with sound or connection issues. The toasts went off without a hitch. For the dances I made it complicated and had David switch between multiple songs for my mom and I and he did it perfectly. The dancing is where the magic happened. David did an incredible job with the song set and would read the room very quickly if there wasn't a good vibe with a song and would perfectly transition to the next song. This barely happened as he knew exactly what he was doing. I highly recommend David and Shindig Djs to anyone who is having a wedding or really any event! We were introduced to David because the original DJ we reached out to was already booked for our big day. And we are so glad we got connected! David was very personable yet professional from our first call/email through our big day. During our introduction call we all were laughing and having a fun time - just on a video call! If it was that enjoyable to talk with David on a call, we knew he'd be even more entertaining in person for our guests. The planning stage with David was incredibly easy and he made sure all our favorite songs/requests were played during our reception! I'm a Property Manager of a multi -family community and used Shindig DJs to do one of my resident events. I absolutely loved DJ Shannon!! She really got the crowd going and helped me and my staff move things right along and stay focused. Which is a hard thing to do when you are the one throwing the party and have 25 different people wanting your attention. DJ Shannon helped me stay organize with the activities we planned and reminded me to call out the raffle ticket. It was an easy process picking out music that apealed to all age groups. DJ Shannon meet with me weeks before the party and had a list of music for me to review with suggestion that would get a crowd going and not offend anyone. In Property Management you have to be really careful about offending anybody. Had the party in August and my residents are asking me when the nexted resident event is!!! We wanted a DJ that we could meet in person and not just some company that would send one of 20 DJ's out to our wedding based on the online form. David with Shindig DJ's went above and beyond our expectations. He drove out to our home in a blizzard for the first meeting. Then once we knew he "was the one" we were able to meet with him again in person to review our online profile. Our venue was not a typical Denver Metro venue and was well out of his way to provide services. He and his staff were spot on in every delivery from the lights to introductions (no names were wrong! I really enjoyed working with David for our wedding. From the beginning, the process was so easy, but also very thorough. David makes certain he know exact versions of songs that you want, has the entire timeline figured out so that he doesn't miss a single cue, and worked with our other vendors to make sure everyone had mics and know where to set up equipment. On the day of the wedding, everything was seamless. All of our guests kept making comments about how great our DJ is and that he has the best announcer voice. He made sure everyone who made a speech knew exactly when and where they needed to be. When it came time to the dancing, it was truly the dance party of our dreams. If I could give David 10 stars, I would. Even prior to our wedding we were so impressed by his professionalism, promptness, and kindness throughout the process. Our music taste is a bit off from the norm, and he absolutely nailed it. We requested bluegrass background music for our cocktail hour and dinner, which wasn't even one of his genre options, and he managed to put together an amazing bluegrass covers playlist that got so many compliments from our guests because it was so good. I was introduced to David & Shindig DJs at a Trivia location. My friends and I have always been into the Denver trivia scene and we have seen all the different companies offering similar games. We worked very closely with Shannon to make sure our specific (we are picky!) wedding vision came off without a hitch.
