Well it was so delicious I forgot to photo the meat. I love this place and have been here close to 10 times. I did try the noodles and they were amazing. I use to skip it and just get potato salad. I also tried the marinated mushrooms that had lots of flavour too. It was super fun to show of my cooking skills. The waiter was on top of our order too. Always great service. Lunch time is the best time to go. We were seated immediately and it was not too packed. Still had a great crowd.

I'm honestly flabbergasted by the negative reviews here. We had superb service--our servers came around every five minutes to check on us and offer more food. Since it's all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, they bring out the meats and sides quickly, and you cook them at your table. The food was excellent (and as someone who's half Korean, I can vouch for the quality). The atmosphere was nice, with the doors open for good ventilation, and we definitely left stuffed and satisfied. The only small drawbacks: bottled water comes with a charge, and there's a 4% credit card fee--but if you pay with cash, you get a discount, which is a plus. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Korean food. We'll definitely be coming back!

First time at this spot. I have had Korean BBQ at other spots before. This spot does not have a large selection of meats. Not many sides or veggies to pair with the food. We were a party of 6. Did not set enough utensils for 6. Service was not good. Had to ask for items multiple times before getting it. Super smoky inside. Hood range did not seem to function well. Bathrooms were unsanitary. There was water all over in the female bathroom. It looked like their toilets were leaking. Toilets were not flushed. No seat covers. Food was okay. The spicy meats were not spicy. The tofu soup was spicy even though it was not labeled as spicy. I did not try it but my spouse got it and has a pretty high tolerance for spice. We tried almost all the meats except for the pork bellies and the spicy pork bulgogi, and seafoods. The kids liked the LA marinated short ribs the most. My daughter ordered shaved ice and asked about how big a small is compared to the large. Waitress said it's small and used her hands to show an approximate size which was an individual size. The shaved ice was an 8 inch bowl which was enough to share with the whole family. If my daughter had known it was that big, she wouldn't have ordered it. Ice cream macarons were also sold but not on the menu. They charge a 4% processing fee for debit and credit card. Will not be coming back to this spot.

We are new to Korean BBQ and found this place quite pleasant. Let's take this step by step discussing in detail. Salad bar area: the only items I grabbed were fresh onions, zucchini and garlic to grill with the meat, the cucumbers (which were super salty and I am a heavy handed salt user) and the cold noodle dish which was ok. I regret not going back and trying the other stuff. My daughter loved the kimchi! The meat portions were very generous in comparison to other places I have been to. Other Korean BBQ restaurant's that we have been to only had two flavored meat options. This place served the most seasoned meat selection that we have seen. We tried all meats on the lunch menu and the squid was very fresh tasting. My only complaint was I am a spicy person and there was no option to add spice other than jalapeño, some sort of chile oil or sriracha would have been delicious. It was definitely my fault for not asking for any of it is something they do have. Other than that everything tasted great. SMALL PORTIONS ARE AN OPTION... The "sauce plate": the white sesame oil had a really good flavor and it's my favorite thing to add to rice w salt and pepper. The other liquid was slightly sweet and went really well with some of the unflavored meats! Silken egg was super just a beautifully lucious texture and it was really enjoyed. At home I dress it up a little more, but this was good. Tofu soup: I had one piece of tofu in my tofu soup and about a half cup of mushrooms. I wish there was a little more balance, but other wise it was good. Service: We had a young female server who was very attentive, explained everything well, and was prompt with items needed. Her service was well appreciated. Grill itself: I asked to turn the heat up and the server promptly did. Our grills were replaced often and without us asking her to. Cleanliness: the restaurant was very clean. WOULD WE RETURN? Absolutely!!

This was our first time at this particular restaurant and we were not disappointed. At first we weren't sure how this worked but the server was very helpful and we caught on fast. The spot wasn't empty but wasn't overcrowded. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves

As good as it can be for Fresno! The inside is generally pretty clean and the service is pretty good every time I go. They have separate lunch and dinner items + prices. However, on the weekends, you just pay the dinner price and have access to the dinner items. $33 per person. It is important to keep in mind that you also have to pay for drinks, even if it's water! They only provide bottles of water, so you do have to pay a $1 for water with no free refills which is a bummer. They have a variety of banchan (side dishes) they offer (i.e. radish kimichi, cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, japchae, and korean potato salad, etc.) however, they do come in small styrofoam cups. While they are small, they are unlimited and the servers are also willing to bring extra! Additionally, they offer sides such as: tofu soup, steamed egg, and steamed rice! All of which are unlimited as well! Their tofu soup is literally to die for. I dream about that soup. It's the perfect spice level for me and is a great pairing for the meal. I easily put away two of these during my Shila outings. They also provide a complimentary pajeon at the start of the meal which is yummy. You can also get extra of those if you ask nicely. As for the meat, I think they offer a great selection. They have all your kbbq classics! You can pick 3 meats at a time and they check in every so often to ask if you want another round. Note: if you don't finish all your meat, you do have to pay an extra cost! I haven't been to other korean bbq places outside of Fresno, so for me, this place is pretty good! Since this place is pricy, it's even more incentive to eat your weight and food to get your money's worth tbh. I enjoy my time here and it's always such a fun experience when I come here with friends or family.

Ask the Community - Shila Korean BBQ

Are there any takeout options?

When will they be open again? :(

June 1st is what I heard.

What time is the lunch menu active?

They open at 11AM Monday-Sunday. Lunch is served from 11AM -3PM. They are closed from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Can you get sides?

Yes you can

How are the prices?

the cheapest menue is I believe $15 for lunch and $20 for dinner. Then the second menue I believe is $25 and the most expensive menue is $30. Also, on Sundays they charge dinner prices all say.

How can you justify charging a 10 year girl as an adult and how can you justify charging people by height instead of age?

Same thing happened to me with my 9 year old son. He eats no where near as much as an adult. I thought it was ridiculous

The TV is always on for background noise and I personally like that. Makes conversations less awkward. The food always comes out fresh and I don't mind the wait. There's always one cook and wow; they work fast for 2-3 people only working non-stop. I ordered the beef tofu soup and bibimbap. OMG, the soup is SOOO GOOD! a whole tofu and actually beef meat in it. No beef brisket (thin slices). 10/10 soup broth and spice level. And yes, they do charge for rice bowl :) the Bibimbap is awesome as well. The food hits you in the right spot of home cooked meals. I really liked the serve yourself Bonchon section. So after sometime the little supermarket disappeared in the places, fully just tables for people to eat in. Unfortunately, I think that after became popular and became just a restaurant things went slightly downhill. The portions aren't quite as large as they used to be, which is not a bad thing, but the quality of the flavor has also been compromised. They also don't have the self serve bunch on which is a bummer because I was happy that I would get to choose which Bachchan I would eat and not waste food by serving one that I wouldn't eat I don't know if I'll go back there again honestly after my last visit because it's not what it used to be

I thought it would be a regular corn dog spot (which I already love), but finding out it was Korean corn dogs made it even better! When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was how clean the place was, always a great sign. There were a few people ahead of us waiting for their orders, but everything is made fresh, so the wait felt reasonable. I ordered the spicy corn dog with spicy beef, and my husband went for the spicy mozzarella corn dog along with dirty fries. The dirty fries, tater tots topped with Flamin' Hot Cheeto dust and a spicy sauce, were definitely a fun twist. Watching him eat his corn dog was entertaining enough because the cheese pull was amazing. I liked my spicy dog with spicy beef, though the spicy sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. My husband really enjoyed his, though, so it definitely depends on your flavor preferences. Overall, we had a great experience, and the quality and freshness stood out. This won't be my last visit, next time I'm trying the potato dog and the kimchi fries!

Great cheese pull. Dirty fries were good too, I'd like the tater tots more crispy but all in all great meal. I'd stop by again if in the area.

Sichuan Hot Pot - The veggie combination plate

This place has been in my regular rotation since they opened and I have never had a bad meal here…read more The concept is a family style hot pot restaurant where you cook your own protein, vegetables or noodles in a flavored brother. You can pick between 1 and 4 different broths per pot. Each table has one cooking stove top, with the larger tables having two. The broths range from vegetarian to mild, to spicy to meat based. Everything is a la carte with the exception of some premade combinations bundling a variety of like items. There's various meat and veggie combos as well as a seafood combo. I always order the veggie combo which comes with a lot that's easily shareable between 4 people. It comes with various greens, mushrooms, cabbage, corn on the cob, cauliflower, and carrots. I don't eat red meat so I stick to their sliced chicken breast or the shrimp balls. My other favorite is the bean curd sticks which is a good meatless protein option. As for broths my two favorite are the Chinese Healthy Herb and the kimchi. I also like their salted crispy chicken appetizer (popcorn chicken). Steamed rice is also a must for me. They have a dipping sauce bar where you can make your own dipping sauce to accompany your hot pot. With the exception of the broth adding flavor, the meats and all the ingredients you add to your hot pot are unseasoned. It includes everything from soy sauce and fish sauce to garlic, fresh chilis, vinegar, and crushed peanuts. Whether you like to keep it simple, mild, or spicy there's a sauce you can create. The ambiance is pretty nice. It used to be a Chinese restaurant years ago and they did keep some of the things the same. They have 3 different TVs inside. The two larger ones on the walls each play a different Kdrama and the one above the register plays Kpop music videos. They do have one larger table that I think accommodates somewhere between 10-12 people (don't quote me on that) and another that can fit 6 or 7 people. Majority of the tables sit 4 and a couple sit 2. Depending what day and time you go, it can get pretty busy and you might have to wait a while. The staff is always friendly and helpful. At the end of the meal they give you orange slices and hard guava candy. Their orange slices are always so good too and a good palette cleanser at the end.

My family and I love coming here…read more On this occasion I decided to try something different. I ordered the Bangkok pot. And I wasn't disappointed. The broth is tom yum flavor. And if you like tangy lemon flavors you know what's up. I believe our servers name is Jenny. She was extremely informative on what was included in the pot and she also offered to sub an item, since I had removed most meat options (which I did for the enoki mushrooms, which was awesome). We also ordered the scallops which were absolutely amazing. They have some sautéed garlic and the Thai chili complements it. Add a little lime and just enjoy the flavors. Absolutely delicious! Also not pictured were the potatoes. They were good tasted like potato chips. Something different to order. And again I had leftovers for a good 2 days. Jpot is just one of those places you will have a great experience and get your moneys worth, especially in today's economy. And as always the establishment is always clean. When we arrived our table was ready but I heard that groups just joining the waitlist had to wait between 15-20 min. Given that this was the holiday weekend in May on a Saturday, make sure you use the online waitlist on their website! The restaurant itself is across from the entrance to Regal in the River Park mall - the missus wondered if this was the only mall in Fresno. It was certainly a bigger outdoor mall than what we usually had in Seattle. Anyway they have a complimentary sauce bar but it's somewhat sparse when you consider actual hotpot sauce bars. The vinegar / soy sauce are off on the side (hard to find). We ordered some appetizers, a classic Boba milk tea (50% off with hotpot purchase, a special until sometime later this year), and a hotpot for each of us. Given my peanut allergy we didn't risk anything from the deep fryer (only one, and they share it). That being said the hotspots themselves were fine. You pick the spiciness, your carb (vermicelli, white or brown rice), your meat/protein (beef, lamb, pork belly, chicken...), and your spice level. For the ones that the missus and I picked (jpot and the one next to it that says "founders favourite") the minimum spice is medium (which is way too high for me, happens to be very mild for the missus).. Service was great - the staff kept checking on us frequently. They don't give you chopsticks by default, so the wait staff asked if we wanted some (we did). The missus asked for an extra bowl and we received it promptly. The only "negative" was that we never got water refills... It was quite busy though, with a lot of folks waiting as we were leaving. That being said we were seated, ordered, served and paid fairly quickly. The parking sitch can be difficult - it's free but the mall parking in general near jpot is definitely sparse - we had to wait until someone left to take their spot.
