Located at Grand Central market the Korean style grilled chicken was fire ! It did take 30 minutes to get my food which is BRAZY WORK. I was like damn they really went out grab a lil bird, whacked him , threw him on da grill, and served me. I damn near walked out but in the end it was worth it. Tree stah'
Korean food in Grand Central Market? Yes please! We got the pork belly plate and the beef ribs plate. Both came with rice & kimchi and little salads & broccoli. They were yummy.
A few weeks back my wife and I made another trip to the Grand Central Market to try another one of the stalls. Up next was a spot we've been wanting to try since day one, Shiku! This stand has some of the most appetizing looking plates on display that I seriously don't know what took us so long to actually place an order. I knew what I wanted before I even approached the counter and that was an order of the Korean fried chicken, though I made the mistake of NOT picking spicy so they weren't completely covered in sauce. The food itself looked super appealing when I sat down and it was a beautiful mix of white rice, vegetables, and the chicken. The chicken was hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, just the way it should be. The taste was solid, though I do regret not getting the sauced up version but I guess i'll have to save that for next time. Overall, Shiku is a fantastic place to have inside of the Grand Central Market and one I'll be returning to in the future. The service was friendly, the food was made fast, and the taste left me wanting some more. Big thumbs up!
Stopped by for a quick lunch snack at grand central market. They have lots of examples of food on the counter but I wanted to try the Korean fried chicken. These are boneless popcorn chicken, kinda like the Taiwanese popcorn chickens you can get at boba places but with a more Korean taste. It was juicy and crispy and just right for the price.
Excellent Korean place inside Grand Central Market next to Eggslut. I had the Fried Spicy Korean chicken bowl. It was a good portion for $14 and tasted really good. The service was fast - food came out in 5 minutes.
I had the fried kimchi rice and my husband had the braised pork belly plate which was bigger but he wasn't full at the end of the meal. The food was just okay -- nothing to write home about. The portions were pretty small, and the flavor was decent but not memorable. I've had much better Korean food elsewhere, so I probably won't be coming back.
Shiku is in the bustling Grand Central market. You can sit anywhere you can find a table in the market. Food was relatively quick. It took about 12 minutes for me to get my lunch. I like the banchan they included. The meal was sizable, although it was mostly white rice. I sort of wish that they had more sauce if they were going to give me that much rice since the rice was bland. But the chicken was tasty.
We came here on a weekday and the food took a little long from when we ordered to the time we got it, at least over 10 minutes. We ordered the chicken rice bowl. The food was fine, but it tasted mainly like fried chicken and was a bit salty. We asked for and egg and also for gojujong sauce on the side and it was fine but it also tasted like sweet chili sauce. For almost $20, it was on the pricier side. Not sure I would come back.
solid korean rice bowls, but you have to get them spicy (don't worry it's not really spicy)! i loved the temple tangsu with fried mushrooms as a vegan option, they were full of flavor and very crispy. my friend got the regular, not spicy, option and they were pretty dry, so i recommend getting them saucy. the rice bowl comes with three sides of banchan, which i think change daily, and are a nice touch! wait was around 10 minutes, so not bad, i would come back!
Oh man, the food took foreeeeeeevvvveeeerrrr. Over 25 minutes, for this one plate. They said it would take ten. They lied. Everyone else already ordered elsewhere, received their orders, and ate before this small portion even came out. It's $14 + $1.50 for the fried egg. Definitely a small portion if you're hungry. You'll need a side. The taste was fine, nothing to write home about. If you're here with a bunch of people, or coming as a tourist, try somewhere else if you're looking to be impressed.
Another great spot in Grand Central Market! The kimchi pork belly was delicious and I really enjoyed how tender the pork was. The rice was well seasoned and the veggies on the side paired well with the meal.
At first I thought this place was a Japanese joint, but no it's Korean. It is located at Grand Central Market and that place is a total vibe! It is a small little spot and they have a good centralized small menu. It takes about 15mins to get you food if you order a chicken dish. If you order the Kalbi, it takes 20min or so. Maybe order online and pick it up. The food was good, prepared well. I had the KFC Spicy bowl. With the vast selection of Korean food in LA, I would not say it was the best I have ever had, but quite tasty. Prices are great and within range. I am a big Kbbq guy and enjoy the time and community cooking on the grill. I would definitely return because I work down the street.
This small KBBQ spot inside Grand Central Market serves up some really fresh, crispy Korean fried chicken. I tried the small spicy chicken, which came coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. The cashier wasn't sure of the exact sauce, but I believe it was a gochujang-based sauce. While the chicken was crispy and tasty, I was hoping for a bit more of a bold sweet and spicy kick. They offer a variety of other items, so I'll definitely be back to try something new!

Loving some Shiku - DTLA This mom and pop homemade style Korean eatery is located in Grand Central Market. 식구 aka Shiku, means the people who share food with you and they absolutely share quite an awesome assortment of dishes. The Korean Fried Pyogo Mushrooms as well as the Temple Tangsu are my personal favs. Full vegan dishes and fully flavorful. The Temple Tangsu is a mini combo with rice, pickled radish, and roasted seaweed. French fries here are good also, not to mention the sauces. I love some spice and heat, but for me at least the spice is very on the mild to medium side for my pallet. Still very very good, but not that spicy. The Kimchi Fried Rice and Bibimbap are very much their signature specials. Good variety of canned and bottle beverages, from soft drinks to water. Shiku is open 7 days a week, as early as 11AM until 6PM on weekdays (Monday through Thursday) and until 7PM on weekends (Friday through Sunday). read more
Shiku had been on my list after seeing it recommended by LA Eater, and I was excited to try their Korean comfort food. I ordered the Kimchi‑Braised Pork Belly and the fried mandu. The mandu tasted great, though $7 for four pieces felt a bit pricey. The pork belly had good flavor but leaned heavily on fat with very little lean meat, which left me a bit disappointed. Not sure yet if I'd return, but I'm still glad I gave it a try. read more
Shiku is a small Korean food shop in Grand Central Market; known for its homestyle Korean food inspired by traditional doshirak (lunchboxes). It offers dishes like Korean fried chicken, galbi rice bowls, and a variety of creative banchan. We came on a later afternoon for Lunch. I had a Grilled Chicken rice meal. It's was very basic in taste and flavor; serving was somewhat small for the price. Staff was affable and competent. Overall, it's was an okay Korean food. read more

Relatively new spot in Grand Central Market! I came here for a late night dinner (Grand Central Market after hours event) and they were still serving food! Staff was super kind and attentive. Seating: there are some bar stools (like 3-4 seats) for people to sit around. But you can sit anywhere in the market Price: very affordable compared to other places Food: yummmm very good dishes and comes with banchan (3x) read more

I was pleasantly surprised for a food hall, but this ain't just any old food hall, ladies and gents! Small eateries literally stacked on top of each other, hundreds and hundreds of people scattering like roaches placed me at severe sensory overload....the word "roaches" doesn't belong in a restaurant review....I get it. So many to choose from but something about Shiku that stood out from the rest. I went for the short ribs and spicy popcorn chicken. Both were very tasty and reasonably priced for that you get! I'm a novice Korean food fan, so one could take my review with a grain of salt, but if you've seen me in pictures or in person you can tell that I love food..especially the yummy kind. 1 star off because I wanted to try the fried vegan mushrooms and the told me they were out.... Really? On a Saturday afternoon? You've been open 2 hours....why is ol' dude slicing mushrooms in the back? You know I can see him, right? Lol I wouldn't have minded the wait! read more

Great place for warm dinner so great the ribs very juicy also the chicken which was tender and bulgogi dumplings. They had Caslamansi sparkling water which was super refreshing. Highly recommended! read more
A perfectly tasty 5 star meal reduced to 4 because the plasticwear served w my galbi bowl was ridiculously cheap and small like for a child. It made it eating this delicious meal a horrible experience. Food was great tho. Curry slaw was a nice unique touch. Rice cooked on point. Galbi delicious Service, friendly Utensils, sucked ass. Where was the chopstick? read more

I came late in the day and they were out of a few items. I ordered and paid for the short ribs. I waited what felt like an eternity. People who ordered their food after me were getting their food so I decided to ask about my order. The cashier informed me that they didn't have enough meat left for the short ribs so they will be refunding me. Although I appreciated the refund I wish she had checked prior to taking my order and not have left me there waiting. As a courtesy they gave me what was left of meat and some rice plate free of charge. Overall the food was okay but not what I was craving or wanted to try. read more
Pretty good Korean Fried Chicken, although I'd go sauceless next time! Came to the Grand Central Market for lunch and decided to get some fried chicken and french fries. He asked me if I wanted regular or spicy, figured why not spicy? Although it was good, it wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it. The fries were good - overall a pretty decent lunch for a decent price. read more
Ambiance: Korean inspired food court located in grand central market Service: very slow, the cashier was chatting in the kitchen and wasn't even paying attention to the waiting line Food: simple menu items, and they no longer have the three meat combo LA Galbi BBQ - ** Korean bbq soy sauce marinated beef short ribs, served with three side dishes on top of rice, the rice was served cold and undercooked Price: stingy portions on protein and overpriced for its quality, near $20 per order for lunch not worth it read more

Went to Grand Centeal Market to walk around and see if we saw anything interesting. Grabbed an LA Galbi plate from Shiku on a weekday evening for dinner. There was about a 10-15 minute wait which wasn't bad. The meat was well flavored and that was basically the highlight of the plate. The rice went well with the galbi and the other sides were nothing too great. Overall the food was okay but not something I'd go back for. read more
Came to Grand Central Market for dinner and there was an abundance of options to choose from - eventually settled on Shiku because of a curiosity in Korean fried chicken! With the unique flavorings, I definitely would recommend it over American Fried Chicken because it didn't feel as heavy. I enjoyed how large the portions at the price point relative to other vendors in the market. read more
Came here after a few hours at the Broad and was in the mood to explore Grand Central in DTLA. Roed around and lots of choices, but this place looked good and seemed to always have a line so thought to give it a go. Various Korean dishes on the menu, but opted for the Temple Tangsu ( pyogo mushrooms with rice and 3 sides). I know ...I know its vegetarian, can't be good right? Well order arrived after a bit of a wait ( they were quite busy to be honest) and was amazed at how delicious this dish was...sides included some salad and Kimchi and the spice level with the sauce was solid. Mushrooms were breaded and crispy and food just hit right...Overall, worth a visit if you're in Grand Central in DTLA or just looking for good food in DTLA. Give it a go!! read more

They are located in the iconic Grand Central Market. Which is a busy place that will keep you busy. I ordered the kimchi fried rice with egg. I will say the food arrived quickly. However it was completely under seasoned and edging bland. read more
Shiku is a restaurant in Grand Central Market that sells different Korean rice bowls. I ordered the KFC (Korean fried chicken) rice bowl and it was sooo good!! The chicken itself was perfectly crispy on the outside and I loved the sauce that they had on it; it was spicy and a bit sweet at the same time. Fair warning that there was a decent amount of cilantro in it so you would probably hate it if you're not a cilantro fan, but I really enjoyed it and it added a really good flavor to the bowl in my opinion. They also didn't skimp out on the chicken and I would say the chicken to rice ratio here was really good. Because the store is in Grand Central Market, it's more or less just a stand where you order and pick up your food. Customer service here is good. There is a parking garage right next to it that charges only $4 for 90 minutes of parking which is pretty good for downtown LA. read more
THEY NEED THEIR OWN STAND ALONE RESTAURANT AND/OR A BETTER SPOT IN GRAND CENTRAL MARKET!!! Haven't been to GCM in years and was surprised to see a Korean spot and went for it!! I might be wrong though, they might've been here longer than I though.... The food is amazing and comes out fresh in a surprisingly fast fashion!! Got the Grilled Maekjuk Chicken and a side of Korean fried chicken......both sooooo good! One bite of the Korean fried chicken and I was inhaling it! Good sizing, really crisp and tender meat and they season it really well. The grilled maekjuk chicken is a good overall meal with the chicken, rice and the three banchan. Good portions all around! Definitely my new favorite at GCM!!! Please give them a better spot where everyone can, without a doubt, find them! read more
Well, when you think about GCM you either enjoy the idea of immersing yourself with the various vendors stationed there or you cringe at the idea of going to DTLA due to the lack of parking. I've never really been a fan of going to GCM unless I have to... So I happened to be in the neighborhood and thought, why not? I stumbled across Shiku and was pulled in by their KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) - btw, not to be confused by the kfc chain! LoL Anywho, I asked the cashier which one she suggested as they had original and spicy. I went with original as I wanted to taste the flavors, including the spicy aioli. The rice was definitely proportionate to the plate and the salad they add gives it a certain freshness. I didn't feel the sweet or spice too much but it was definitely good. I would def want to try their spicy bowl should I happen to be in the area. As far as drink options, I passed on them as I had a water bottle with me. read more
We went to Grand Central Market fully determined to go to a specific spot to eat, but unfortunately they were closed for the day. Walking around, we stumbled across Shiku and decided to give them a shot. Even though they were swamped with orders, ours came out in a reasonable amount of time and we were able to grab a table across from the stand. I had the Kimchi Braised Pork Belly with a Mexican Coke while my better half had the KFC Rice Bowl (with spicy Korean fried chicken and added fried egg on top) with Sac Sac Orange Juice. We shared our food and agreed both were tasty, but the spicy Korean fried chicken really takes the cake! Packs the perfect kick while at GCM! Easy to pass by, Shiku is now going to be one of our top choices whenever we visit GCM. Delicious Korean food well worth the wait! read more
