DexaFit Seattle for the win! I was so glad to have found this wonderful establishment…read more I am on a weight loss journey so decided to go in and get some testing done. I had a DEXA scan and an RMR (resting metabolic rate) test done. Both were super insightful for the benefit of my health. I recommend both tests! Joel and Tiffany both helped me. They are the owners and they are very kind, compassionate, and detail oriented. They really care about the customers that come through the door. Tiffany took time to sit down with me individually and carefully explain the testing results and answer all of my questions. They also have an app that has the reports and such on it as well for your reference. The space is medium sized and is very easy to get around in and go from test to test if you are doing multiple tests. It's a very clean and well laid out space. It was a little tricky getting into the building, but I figured it out! On that particular day, they had their cute dog in the space with them and that was very calming for me. I highly recommend DexaFit Seattle! The testing, insights, and prices are totally worth the benefit!

Very easy process only took less than than 30 mins, I only got just the Dexa scan bu they have other services. The location is little hidden almost like a speak easy, look for a small door that you have to ring the door bell to be buzzed in. I will come back to see what progress I've achieved every 6 months. Whats really nice is you can down load the app and see the results later or provide them for your DR. Make sure you read the instructions before your appointment, wear loose clothing without metal zippers.

Imagine having an extremely serious medical condition that your primary care practitioner failed to…read morerecognize, did not take seriously and took no effective action to address. If your primary care practitioner happens to be Elissa Mullen, ND, this scenario is a distinct possibility, or at least it was for me when she mis-diagnosed a cancerous tumor the size of a plumb in the back of my throat for a case of tonsilitis. Out of concern regarding the symptoms I had been experiencing all summer, I scheduled an appointment in September with Dr. Mullen, my primary care practitioner. After describing the symptoms to her, she initially attributed them to my orthodontic aligners. However, after visually examining the back of my throat she said my left tonsil was the largest she had ever seen and proscribed antibiotics for what she told me was likely a case of tonsilitis. After completing two rounds of antibiotics, I retuned a couple of weeks later and again, she prescribed antibiotics. At neither visit did she take a swab to test her theory nor suggest that I see a specialist. Finally realizing that I needed real medical care, I found Dr. Grace Wandell, a throat specialist at Swedish Hospital on my own. But because I had to self-refer, I had to wait weeks for the appointment instead of days had my primary care practitioner made the referral. As soon as I opened my mouth, Dr. Wandell recognized my tumor for what it was, taking biopsies to confirm what her trained and experienced eyes told her instantly. As I see it, the purpose of a primary care practitioner is to serve as your medical sentinel to flag potential health risks--If she can't even do that, then what meaningful protection do you have?

I'm sharing this review to help others avoid the same frustration. Don't waste your time or money…read more I saw Dr. Mullen last year after being told that my insurance would be accepted. I provided my recent blood work, but she dismissed it because it didn't include the reference ranges and suggested I redo the exact same tests. During the appointment, she spent more time talking about her own experience with my condition than offering any real advice or solutions. At my follow-up appointment (which wasn't necessary since she couldn't identify the issue or offer a solution), there was still no clear plan of action. Instead, she provided completely unrelated insights, which I quickly dismissed since I had a PCP appointment scheduled and decided to move on. Two months later, I received a bill for both visits because my insurance had rejected the claims. Now I'm stuck paying out of pocket for two appointments that were completely useless.

Thanks to his support and accountability, I stayed consistent and hit every workout for over a year--no small feat! I felt stronger, saw real results, and never had to second-guess what to do. Totally worth it.

I moved from Sacramento and a fabulous personal trainer to the Seattle area, then COVID happened…read more I am primarily a runner, but strength training makes me a better runner, especially with the big hills in the area! As I finished of the 2021 race year, my last race aggravated an already worn and cranky knee. I figured it was time to see if I could find a good body work person to help with recovery. I found Dustin and not only does he do great body work, but I discovered he was a personal trainer as well. I did a DEXA scan then started working with him. I started building up strength, even though I couldn't run. Dustin was very careful not to do anything to aggravate the injury as he built the rest of me up, including supporting muscle groups. By April I was starting to run again. I was also trying to drop the extra COVID pounds I picked up, and while the scale didn't seem to be budging, my clothes were definitely feeling better. I did another DEXA scan, and I had dropped 10 pounds of fat (including most of the visceral fat) and picked up 10 pounds of lean mass, so definitely moving in the right direction! Dustin is very knowledgeable in anatomy, nutrition and the science around performance. We enjoy our discussions, and he appreciates my effort and enthusiasm, and the fact that I run around all over the country running these crazy Ragnar races. Not exactly your normal Grandma pursuit! I highly recommend Dustin, whether you are a competitive athlete, you want to be more healthy in general, fit in your clothes better, or don't want to fall over, break a hip and die! I say that last only somewhat tongue in cheek. It is definitely on my mind; I am appallingly close to that age! But I don't feel old, or look old, and my DEXA scan also shows I have very dense bones, another benefit of running and weightlifting! Just yesterday I was doing single-leg dead lifts with two 35 pound kettlebells and he said, "Just think, most people can't even do these without weight, and here you are with 70 pounds!" DON'T BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE! Go get in shape with Dustin! You don't HAVE to get to the really big kettlebells either. Talk to Dustin, figure out YOUR goals!

I arrived for my 11am appointment at 11:05 due to World Cup traffic…read more I stood at the front desk while the receptionist typed away for three minutes with no greeting or any eye contact. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome in the space. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed to go to the desk downstairs, which I promptly obliged. Upon arriving at the desk downstairs, I was not greeted or even looked at. I announced my name and that I was there for my 11 o'clock appointment and apologized for being five minutes late. She then proceeded to tell me that I was going to need to reschedule and that my check-in time was actually 10:45. I explained to her that whoever I spoke to on the phone told me to be there at 11am not 10:45, and if I would've known I needed to be there early I would've shown up early. She explained to me how they supposedly have on file a reminder call in which I never received, no voicemail left, as well as never receiving any type of email confirmation explaining that I needed to be there early. After typing away on her computer for another five minutes, I asked her what she is doing, and she expresses that she's trying to find a new time for our appointment. At this point, I am frustrated, and now 15 minutes past my appointment time. I let her know that I am uninterested in using their services and exit the building with extreme relief that I never have to be in this environment ever again. After the experience in this extremely unwelcoming environment, with extreme lack of flexibility (even 5 mins), and complete disregard for any type of logistical organization, I will never be returning. And drove away with a huge smile on my face that they will not be receiving one dime from me or my insurance company. I am also very excited to let my primary care physician know so that he never has to send a patient here ever again as a referral. His patients deserve so much more than what you all have to offer, which is apparently very little. This business is an embarrassment to the Bellevue medical community, and what an absolute shame for patients that they have to deal with such a lackluster business. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!! UPDATE: My sister has received a service here. They left her on the exam room table, half naked, for over an hour before she received her scan. She was in her teens at the time and too scared to get up and disregard her primary care physician's orders. We will be alerting all women we know within the greater Seattle area to never come to this sub-par establishment.
