I have a difficult time believing the poor reviews, as my experience in 2026 was phenomenal. From the front office to the back, the staff was absolutely amazing, empathetic, and caring. I felt respected and supported in making my own decisions about my health care and felt safe and cared for. The tech was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and made all efforts to ensure my comfort during the procedure. I would recommend BMI and Dr. Jacobs office to anyone seeking medical imaging. read more

Something is seriously off with this place, and I'm guessing the toxicity comes from the top down. Getting an insurance pre approval was a joke, and that was just the beginning. My teen has anxiety, and the staff did NOTHING to make her comfortable in her MRI. The head Dr. refused music and then got annoyed at me for advocating for my daughter. He also got annoyed at my daughter for being nervous. They did not offer a mirror, TV, or anything to take her mind off of the loud, tiny tube. When I suggested my daughter might be more comfortable at Children's, the Dr scoffed at me and stormed out of the room. They then impatiently gave my teen daughter a DOUBLE ADULT DOSE of Valium, which affected her for days after. Honestly, my husband was even considering filing for malpractice for that. Terrible, horrifying experience. Stay away from this toxic place. read more

Avoid this clinic, they don't care about patients. I scheduled a scan 6 weeks in advance - they cancelled 4 days in advance, offered me a reschedule for 3 months in the future, and made zero effort to try to be flexible with my schedule. Also - the person who called me was quite rude, and blamed the technician rather than the company that makes no plans for a backup when their technician is unavailable. Think about this - because they are delaying scans it's possible some issue won't be found in a timely manner and someone could die. If I ran a healthcare business I would not be so casual about rescheduling, and I would demonstrate some care for patients read more

They never answer the phone, and only give you 5 seconds to leave a message. I got a referral from my doctor. I called to schedule and waited for an hour for them to answer. The whole time the recording is asking "Are you there" as If I'm supposed to do something to prove I'm still alive. It keeps saying press 1 to leave a message, but then it only gives you 5 seconds to record your message before cutting you off and making you send cancel or add. I added another 5 seconds. I said my phone number very quickly. They called back when I wasn't available and only tried once, telling me to just call back. But, of course, they won't answer their phone again. read more

Unfortunately, my experience with this imaging center was awful in all aspects. My test results were due within five days and it has been SIX WEEKS and I still haven't received them. I called the office manager to see if she could provide me with my test results, but my message went to voicemail and she still hasn't bothered to call me back. Meanwhile, I cannot schedule an appointment with a cardiologist until I have these results. Additionally, the technician who was with me throughout my entire visit (from the waiting room, to the dressing room, to the MRI room), was extremely rude, almost to the point of being overtly hostile. Then, when she was getting me set up for the MRI and needed to put electrodes on my chest, she did not give me any advance warning or explain what she was going to be doing. Instead, she grabbed my gown and abruptly yanked it up over my chest without any warning or saying a word to me, and just left me exposed while she walked away. It was so jarring and felt so disrespectful. She then left me with my gown up and chest fully exposed to the open room while she went and got the electrodes. (Why would you not already have them ready so the person on the table isn't stuck there with their bare chest hanging out in the open any longer than necessary?) When the MRI was finished, she didn't bother returning me to the dressing room, she just motioned with her arm and curtly told me to go back. If you are in a profession where people are getting medical testing done, one would think you should understand that people feel vulnerable, and treat them kindly, or at the very least professionally and respectfully. Coincidentally, the very next day, I had a a different scan done at Overlake Hospital, and the difference between these two technicians was GLARING. Night and day. The man at the front desk was a shining star in an otherwise awful experience. Kudos to him for remaining professional and kind to patients even when he is completely swamped with checking people in and constant phone calls. Based on my personal experience with the staff (minus the nice front desk man), and the ridiculous amount of time I am still waiting for my results, I will never return to this center. I will be notifying my referring physician of my experience so she can evaluate whether to send other patients here. read more

I tried calling and no one answers the phone. I will never go back and I am letting my Doctor know so he doesn't send any other patients there. read more

Went to get imaging because of pain on the side of my hip. Dr diagnosis was way off. Made me scared for a broken IUD, osteoporosis(I don't have it) and arthritis. Drs are not supposed to guess diagnosis and scare their patients. When I told my OB about this experience she told me it is not the first time she hears that about him. Who wants a mammogram? No one, but we need them. I've read the reviews here, some not complimentary. However, I've had a nice experience here so far. The front staff has been accommodating and medical staff, techs, and the doctor here are all great. My mammogram didn't hurt for the first time ever. For these reasons, plus the fact they are thorough, pairing a ultrasound with mamo... I will be coming here from now on. read more

Today I've been on hold for 8 minutes trying to get a diagnostic breast ultrasound for possible cancer. The system just sent me to vm saying they'd call back within 24 hours. Except I did the same thing last year for a dexa scan and my call was NEVER returned. I called and left 7 messages. I finally showed up at the office and made an appt with them last year. I can't believe after a year, patients are dealing with this crap. This time, I've got very concerning symptoms, and unfortunately, their inability to answer their phone is preventing people from getting quality care. I know their doctor retired last year. Terrible front desk assistant - very yang man who did wrong check in for me, missed one from my two points for x-ray, he didn't give me other paper for another part of body (after I asked for it) and pointed aggressively to the chair for me to sit. In person during appointment this are fine. However scheduling an appointment is near impossible as is receiving records. They do not pick up the phone -- this isn't a one time thing, has been ongoing for over a month. And getting records is just as hard as they don't update the portal with records, they don't respond to email, and again... they just wont pick up the phone. read more

Apparently they don't care if patients would use them or not. My doc requested a complex CT scan and worded the referral a bit vaguely. Bellevue imaging started muzzing me about it, like - "oh, it's not completely clear; oh we are concerned about exposing you to too much radiation; oh, we are afraid the insurance won't pay for it; oh we need to check with your doctor, etc". Eventually, they ceased all communications with me completely. So I called TRA imaging, and they did the scan without any troubles within 10 days and insurance paid for it., read more

I was a previous patient here. This month I needed an Eastside referral for diagnostic mammography and ultrasound. The clinic denied my referral because "they did not have the previous images" (which are easily available upon request). I am entirely unclear how, during Breast Cancer Awareness month, they could not simply request those images but rather denied me out of hand. I am disabled and getting into Seattle is very difficult for me. This clinic has made things worse for me by this denial and I am tearing up their business card now. read more

Dr. Jacobs, more a businessman than doctor, did a lousy job on a biopsy, causing extensive bruising, and did not report back to me on the results even after making an ominous comment about the nature of alleged lump. He also made inappropriate harassing comments after mammograms. I highly recommend that you avoid this creature like the plague. read more

I have a large mass in my breast and have scheduled appointments with this office two times the first time I went to my appointment and they told me when I got there that they didn't have prior imaging yet so they had to reschedule if they rescheduled me eight days out now this morning. I had my second appointment to get the imaging done and they just called and left a message saying that somebody called out so they don't have a tech to do the imaging. My appointment was at 9:45 they had me get here at 9:15, it is now 10:30 and they have taken everyone in the lobby including walk ins that came after me. I asked how much longer and the response was they should have taken you in by now... yet here I still sit. I. Have another appointment after this and they are going to make me late for it. Excellent mammography tech (Cathy) you can believe me when I say "almost painless mammography!" Ultrasound tech Aliza did a very great job. Quick results while you wait and a compassionate doctor that is incredibly knowledgeable. Update: they have invested in a new plate for the mammography machine that makes the procedure painless if you can believe that! They truly care about their patients comfort and Dr. Jacobs is awesome at what he does. Private changing stalls with warm ponchos to wear! What's going on with this place? I've been going here for years and I really respect Dr. Jacobs. Up until this year it's always been great and I've recommended them to other people. However, I can't get anyone to pick up the phone EVER and I've been trying to schedule my mammogram for over a MONTH. I call and leave a message - no call back. I've been trying to schedule an appointment for two days now. Nobody answers the phone. Their robo-answer says they'll give me a callback in two hours - but they don't. Their robo-answer gives an option to wait on the phone or press 1 to leave a message - but waiting on the phone is not an option. Their robo-answer says appointments can be made on the website - but the website says to call BMI for an appointment. I left my 1st v-message on 4/11/23 after seeing my doctor and getting a referral. I left my 2nd message the morning of 4/12/23 - & then a 3rd & 4th v-message & and email the afternoon of 4/12/23. It's 4/13/23; I just left another v-message at 6:00a. I'm hoping that when somebody walks in this morning, they'll see a message light, get my message and GIVE ME A CALLBACK. Otherwise, I will drive 6 miles to BMI and see if anybody is actually there so I can make an appointment. But right now, I'd rather go somewhere else for my chest x-ray. Actually, now that I've read some of the reviews on Yelp, I'll go somewhere else. It's just a chest x-ray for a persistent cough. read more

The worst scheduling staff ever. Even if my primary Dr. reached out the imaging center, the incompetent staff didn't know what to do with that and I couldn't' get a schedule. Then I had to find another imaging center. The imaging center in general got staffs don't know the policy or composed of poor services. Every time I ask my Dr why I didn't call from the Imaging center, he said me that: didn't call you? no worries, someone will call you today and so and so forth. But no one called me for over a month. Finally I gave up.... and told my doctor to send me to any other Imaging center. No reason to wait for that long or sticking with this poor or incompetent staffs as I have a good health Insurance. I had been putting off my first mammogram because of the horror stories people kept telling me about how painful and horrible the experience was. I only wish I hadn't listened! My tech, Kathy, at BMI was lovely and made me feel comfortable right away in the dressing room, providing me with a warmed gown/cape. The machines they use for breast imagining are amazing. I was completely comfortable the entire time. No smashing, squeezing or discomfort. Seriously! Don't go here if you're fat. I was given a pair of scrubs to change into. They had no stretch and were so tight, the pants cut off my circulation and kept rolling down. I asked for a larger size and the tech said coldly, "that's the largest size." I am a size 20/2x so not THAT big. Then once the X-rays were over, the tech forgot to give me back my key to the clothing locker, so I stood in the hallway yelling "ma'am?" in these too-tight scrubs until someone came to help. Just feel really crappy after being here. Learn to be size inclusive. It's 2021. read more

Last week was my first visit to BMI and my first mammogram. The waiting room was nice, and the appointment started promptly. As others mentioned, Cathy is fantastic! She made the mammogram as easy and comfortable as possible. Her communication was great, and I loved how she explained what she was doing as she knew it was my first appointment. Everything after that was less than desirable. I waited 10+ minutes for the ultrasound, which was done by an intern and then a tech. I didn't know this when I booked the appointment... Cathy let me know when she walked me back to the waiting room. The ultrasound room was cold and neither the intern nor the tech really spoke to me. When they were done, I waited 20+ minutes to meet with Dr Jacobs. (Around this time, I was actually brought a blanket by Cathy as I told her I was freezing.) It was not worth the wait. But perhaps my expectations are too high when I feel a doctor should turn on the lights in his office and shut the door before discussing your breast screening results. I left 1-hour after my appointment was scheduled to end. I will not be back. Cathy is the reason I gave this review 2-stars. Without her, it would've been less. read more

Was in for a routine mammogram today. The radiology tech did a wonderful job. Dr. Jacobs followed with a ultrasound which was performed by two different technicians to assure the accuracy of the performance. Dr. Jacobson promptly reviewed the results and did an examination. I was impressed by the decour, the cleanliness, and professionalism of the doctor and his staff. read more

I went in today to be checked for a hernia. I had a physical check at an urgent care and no signs were found, but the duration of my symptoms were enough cause for concern that we wanted to be sure. I was positive it was just a muscle strain. The staff and medical assistants at Bellevue Medical Imaging were very friendly and professional. Dr. Jacobs came in to do the official check for the hernia. Practically under his breath at one point he casually mentions "that's an indirect inguinal hernia." Then says nothing else about it. On his way out of the room he says something in passing to the medical assistant matter-of-factly about the hernia, so I speak up, "So there IS a hernia?" He replied in a very "well duh" fashion, "Yes! An indirect inguinal hernia." Then he walked out of the room. The assistant instructed me to get dressed and she walked me to the lobby and bid me have a nice day, no further details discussed. I had to get the diagnosis name from the receptionist and then look up facts about it and potential treatments on my own when I got back to work. Maybe I'm expecting too much from the doctor who just confirmed my fears about the pain I've had, but I'd have liked him to have discussed what he saw in a little detail, let me know the kinds of options someone usually has with this kind of issue, toss a couple tips for maintenance my way. Something. Is that asking too much? I didn't come in just so you could make sure you still had your chops with spotting a hernia in an ultrasound. UPDATE: The aforementioned friendly staff contacted me after writing this review and tried to work through my compliants. I considered removing it after the discussion but I'm glad I didn't. I went to a surgeon for a consult for a hernia operation and I could tell the surgeon thought something was "off" as he read the report from this office. He did a physical exam of me and said confidently that I do NOT have a hernia despite this office saying that I had one 2 cm in width. So to recap the full hernia-finding story: an urgent care checked me and found no signs. I went to this imaging office and one was found very matter-of-factly. I went to a surgeon for a consult and he checked me and was sure I don't have a hernia. I'm glad I don't need surgery but my confidence in this provider is fully gone. I visited this place recently for a CT scan due to clear cell renal cell carcinoma. I opted to drink the contrast 2 hours prior by arriving early onsite, and paid for the bill all at once. I am comparing this with Swedish and UW, which are the two other medical imaging providers that I have experienced during the 5 years I am required to get scanned. This location is by far the cheapest available compared to the other options with my current insurance and I suspect from conversations with other people while in the waiting room that they will remain that way for the foreseeable future. There is sufficient parking and the location is clean, quiet, and well maintained. The entry room and waiting areas are immaculate and the fireplace keeps the place cozy. The front desk staff were helpful, busy, and as on the ball as much as they could be given the volume for the day that I visited. The three stars are for other things that were part of my experience. The lead CT technician was competent as was the doctor that reviewed my scan results (at least I feel so). However, the technician that was responsible for bringing me the contrast to drink wasn't. The contrast arrived late at times, in varying amounts and there was no explanation aside from drink this. Both Swedish and UW take time to explain the type of contrast, why you are drinking it and any side affects. For CT scans, the contrast usually causes diarrhea and can cause other side affects for people with kidney issues (which is why I prefer to drink it at the doctors office) and this contrast was no exception. The restroom was clean and well maintained, but the toilet paper was 1 ply, where I would have preferred something a little nicer given the amount of times I had to use the facilities. There were issues with billing as other reviews note. I personally did not experience any as I opted to pre-pay, but I did that after listening to several other visitors to the office complain about problems that they were having. The office was also rushing to fit people in before the end of the year (so that they could bill insurances before the new calendar year) which seemed a little shady as for many people waiting a few days would have put the bill on their next year's deductible and they would be better off. That conversation did not happen with patients though, it was simply cram as many in as possible. This caused slowdowns (my scan was a full 30 minutes late) and crowding in the office at some times resulting in no privacy if you were discussing a sensitive issue with the front desk since the waiting area is smaller than UW or Swedish. The changing room is nice, clean and maintained. There is a waiting room across the way from it also were doctors give results in advance in some cases and that was very good. The scanner itself was a newer model (within the last 5 years) but the room was small. The restroom that was just outside the room was also cramped and not very usable for someone that was in pain. (To be fair it was an employee one and not for guests, but given my need to go - it was the one I was directed to.) I would rate this place higher if there were no billing issues, but I heard 2 other customers come in and complain about those problems during my short wait in the office. Due to that option and the incompetence of the first technician I encountered, I am knocking it down two stars. read more

This is my first visit for an ultrasound. The booking and check in process was efficient. What I liked about the waiting room were the beautiful plants - all well maintained and loved! I couldn't help noticing the mini ficas bonsai! The rooms are on the lower level and you'll be walking by some amazing art. I've had many ultrasounds and clearly this technician was starting out. Every movement by the instrument felt like it was pressing into a bruise. I haven't felt so much discomfort during this process. Dr. Jacobs came by to review and wrap up the visit. Results came back quickly and I would return to look at the art!! read more

I came in for a procedure and I was very nervous going in. I have to give props to the staff and technicians. They were so kind and welcoming. They walked me through what medication I would be taking, how long the actual procedure would be, etc. Dr. Jacobs was very patient and understanding. I hope to never do the procedure again, but I'm thankful to have received the best care and support. read more

I had to do a CT that was urgent and they were able to fit me in on the same day. I've also had a X-ray here too. This happened in the early days of the pandemic and they already screening and taking precautions before most other clinics. Cost was much less than in a hospital too. All of the staff here are wonderful and helpful. My doctor commented on how much detail was in the reports she received from Dr. Jacobs, very impressed. I will be using them for all of my future imaging needs. read more

I had a great experience scheduling my exams with Theresa. She was very sweet and even called back days later like she said if there was a cancelation. It is rare for providers to keep track of one individual but I am very pleased with how serious she took my exams personally.
