It's a vicious cycle of being too tired to work out and getting to the point where it was surprisingly cheaper to dine out at restaurants than to put in the energy and time to grocery shop and cook. But taking the easier route will always have a cost in the long run and I knew something had to change if I still want to be hot when I'm 69 years old. I really don't enjoy working out at all, it's painful, but having a personal trainer holds me accountable to show up to my appointments plus it's just nice to get help from a professional. You can tell Tony is very passionate about what he does and cares about his clients. It's also convenient for me not to have to recruit homies for the group sessions, he does all the logistical work to pair up with others that are in a similar stats as you. I'm probably not the best for visual results as I just went from objectively skinny to still skinny, but I am stronger compare to when I first started where I was crippling doing any sort of exercise with no weights at all to now. My meal portions are more in control without feeling like I had to give up everything and start eating like a squirrel, just no more regular boba tea runs. What's more important is that I truly believe that exercise contributes to stronger mental health and I recommend everybody to do some form of exercise even if you're not overweight at all. So it's been 10 months, and through his guidance I've lost 20lbs, and have packed on muscle. I "see" Tony virtually with his distance program, and he reliably sends me eating plans and workout plans. We have twice a week checkins, and I can always text him with questions. Recently I went in to his gym to meet up with him, and he's very friendly, this has been a grade A experience, and I'm really glad I've done it. Let's see what we can do in the next two months!

I had tried another lifting trainer nearby who just didn't work out, when I came to Camie to try working out with her. She's been wonderful for my physical and mental health ever since! She not only helped me with my goal of losing weight (40lb+ down and still losing), but also helped me with my nutrition and my last year's cardio goals as well of running my first marathon this past month. She does such a great job of always making sure to train her clients safely but also always continuing to push us well! We all have different goals (add muscle mass, lose weight, improve conditioning, etc), but to get results sometimes you just need someone else to lay it out for you and hold you accountable. I'm currently maintaining the most muscle mass in my life with noticeable improvements in strength, while the wifey has slimmed down a ton while adding muscle as well. We're all human and have flaws (cheat days) which she understands, but she'll hold you accountable for your poor diet and is always suggesting nutrition improvements. The workout space is in a building suite, with all the weights, machines, training equipment, etc. This isn't a typical gym; there are no cardio treadmills/ ellipticals/ bikes, but you can get the same effect with what she has you do (what trainer wants to watch you do cardio anyways?). The workouts are kept challenging and tailored to your end goal, as she pushes you to the max. She trains all age ranges from teens to seniors, individuals and small groups as well. Camie will be challenging, but at the same time everybody grows close (you can talk about anything and everything) as everyone operates on similar work out schedules. Definitely recommend her, and her loyal clients would probably agree as well.

Since then, I have been focused on my medical treatment, which has included an MRI, X-ray, and surgery. My doctor has advised that my recovery time will likely be 4 to 6 months, during which I am not permitted to work out. I have kept the owner, Dan, informed about my medical condition and my doctor's recommendations. I also requested again a temporary suspension of my membership. However, I noticed that Dan has ignored my written request and charged my credit card approximately $300 per month for November, December, January, and February. In early February, I emailed Dan again to request a full refund for these four months during which I could not participate. He responded that I am still required to pay for these months, regardless of my situation. I find this incredibly unfair and am very disappointed.

I used a vanilla diet from Google and burned myself out. I found myself dreading the gym and eventually quit going altogether. My experience and process ruined it for me - 100% my fault. I've made several attempts to get back into a program/routine at a few of the larger gyms over the years, but found trainers to be mostly incompetent and I spent most of my time waiting for weights or machines. Fast forward to this year - my wife is entering her first competition (E Cup). Accordingly, I recommended she connect with CZ Fitness for competition prep. After connecting with Pete on her goals I found myself signing up for training as well after being out of the gym for almost 7 years.
