Unlike many other unrelated classes and trainings I have attended where the instructor struggles to captivate the classes attention, Mike knows how to do it. Mike is extremely knowledgeable, professional, passionate and enthusiastic in his approach. He knows how and when to engage with individuals. Some individuals may be overwhelmed or intimidated going into such critical and important training, but Mike treats each person with respect and kindness while still being able to stress the gravity of the information he teaches you. On the shooting course, Mike clearly gives step by step instructions for each phase while continuously emphasizing the importance of safety. I noticed him also giving great tips and advice ensuring the shooters are the most comfortable and confident they can be during the course of action. It's not uncommon to come across some big egos in the realm of firearms, so it was especially refreshing having an instructor who is very approachable and humble. This morning, before today's curriculum began, we debriefed on the range qualification yesterday. By the end of just one session, they had me down to a 5% miss rate, missing only 1 out of 20 shots. They took the time to explain everything in a way that made sense, corrected my mistakes without making me feel embarrassed, and built my confidence along the way. Kelly taught all 4 of my kids and my wife (and me) how to handle a pistol safely how to operate it safely, how a range operates. How to fire them safely and accurately. I think this is something they'll remember their entire lives. It may seem silly, but these are really life lessons that should be taught young. Kelly was a consummate professional, good with the kids, good with the adults, and really supportive. I feel very lucky to have had her class and am glad my children have had this experience.

His military experience really shows in the way he teaches and explains things. This isn't my first course with Bay Area Tactical. I previously took Defensive 1 with Matt, along with another course before that, and Matt was also a great instructor. I've had a great experience every time I've trained with them and will definitely be taking more courses with BAT in the future.

They simply do not care about the rest of us in the community. And we certainly do not care about them. They blatantly take up spaces that they were told by the city planner to rent a lot for.
